Coming from a best usability view , i belive Klaus's is the best.

Remeber that what we see will be streched to fit at minimum 800x600, normally these days people have 1024x768 browser window, so there shouldnt be many frames, all text should fit ... which is what i was also concerened about, but for overall design definatly Klaus.

I wish I had stumbled on this sooner , I am a pro web designer & developer and would of liekd to give it i
a go ... ah well

I know its only a mags game, but box rooms (rectangle , straight on perspective) do look "naff" after a while...

now im not saying its good, but i have altered the perspective a little so it doesnt look like a box , you also can see light coming from bulb and through window. if you look at the other images there you can see the progress of that image. but it was posted on the critics forum about colordepth optimisation not for how it looked.

Just remember the ceiling in hardly ever the same colour as the walls, maybe add a few details here and there like cracks in the walls n wallpaper peeling or something to give it a bit more depth, and definatly shade it even if its only a block of slightly dark colour on one side of the room , it all helps to make belive its a 3d location and not flat

Yeah I agree, I prefer the short witty ones , remember its only just been built today, once Me & Annie start moderating it and chucking out the crap (EG half a days chat log

I am considering putting up a list of the most anticipated AGS games, including games that are in production so people can not only keep track of who is making what, but what also looks the most appealing.

Maybe get people to vote for the game they are most eagerly waiting, allowing people to submit links to thier new games and what not.

So I'd like a bit of feedback on what you think about this, whether you would like to see something like this, and what you would like it to offer... as many and as much detail as you care to share...

I may throw something like that together, Ive already thought about it but disregarded it as I thought there wouldnt be that much of a call for it... Guess I was wrong...

Yeah as said above , too many effect...

Straigth away i notice , no shading and horrible gradient, wierd shiny things that seem to empisise the black lines are on top of them, for snow I would use white -> blue shades too to give it a cold feel.

the rendered piccy to me looks cool , but I hate rendered pics ingame.

I personally dislike this first pozzle because of the verb assoicated with it, it should have been a different verb!

Yeah Me and RobertEric were talking about this last month as I have the same thing in mine , ive gone for a bass look..

I went for the invisible GUI with a textbox approach that is positioned near the mouse cursor, and RobertEric went for the TextOverlay Approach, apparently they both are as good as each other according to CJ but you may have some trobles when next approaches the GUI as the text overlay DOESNT overlay any other GUI's, where as if you place a text label on a GUIand move it as long as the GUI number it is is higher then the ones you want it to overlay it works... ( I wanted Text beside mouse on my inv aswell you see)

I can give you my code if you wish , or RobertErics, tell me what you would prefer.
