Yeah look a lil bright. Maybe orange would have suited better, but then maybe a little brightness is doing the room good.

Only problem is, if it takes you half a month to finish a room there better not be too many rooms in your game to finish!

Yeah I had noticed that. Its cos of the two layer of cloth thingies it got twisted out of straightness..

Render clouds then erase technique, one hour. It was tough doing wet skin and clothes, and the rain didnt turn out like I wanted.

Im not sure about the barrell colors, else its darned right excellent!

It looks great now! A couple of sharper shadows in N3T's style are always good, as they suggest lighting direction. I think the perspective is fine, tho the floor area could have been a bit more since after adding the chair it gives much less space on the right side of the room. As far as the zoom level, I have a few scenes in my game where the sprite zooms the same as it would in your room, and tho it gets all blurry, I think it works ok. But Andail is right, it should only happen in a very few rooms, in which case it breaks the monotony. If you can have a resized sprite nothing like it, tho I never could get myself to do that.

Thats pretty darned fabulous! To change to the MI style I think all you need to do is resize the arms and hands to make them smaller.

Ooh, funny ones! I like the variable width thick outlines on the first one best! Though the thin one looks pretty good too. I like the font on the first one better for looks, only it is not so legible. I have a good comic lettering font if you want.

P.S. I loves thems eyeez

Lasers, no secret here, just plenty of practise in school when teachers used to be giving boring lectures.  I use pen on ink, scan, then add shading in photoshop with the mouse using a transparent grey brush. On the darker more shaded looking images, I use a reverse technique - render cloud filter on the scanned lineart, then use a transparent erase brush to add highlights.

Wow Erwin, the beauty of that one truely plucks at my soul strings! I think its the skin color that gives it the old-pirate-treasure-map look. Also I had missed putting in the sea, i had thought the horizon would be on a much lower level than the sea top - now that you've added it really makes it swashbuckling! The shadows as you mentioned are the problem, I never add shadows with a soft brush (I try not to use the burn tool too, but that works nicely most times). I find a hard edged brush gives more realistic shadows, as the sun would cast much sharper shadows than these, as for example on the pole behind elaine.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I had quite forgotten what Elaine looks like and mostly just did a female pirate hoping for a resemblance.
Eggie, she does seem to have had black hair sometime in the past though -

Looking rather good! He looks like a chinese warrior (pale skin and all). The white shirt was looking a bit out of place but N3T's armour corrects that. The armour could be shaded the way you've done the helmet.

Mats, eye patches were a craze between MI2 and CMI. I did the background rather quickly so the oddities there (its a barrel).

BOYD, I'll get that right next time.

I had the whole collection till a few years back. I bought Asterix and Obleix All at Sea just today. Which leaves The Actress to get!

It looks very atmospheric!

The perspective on the steps is wrong, especially the lower steps. The lines going back should be almost horizontal, like on the topmost step. I might have added a sharper shadow on the leftmost wall and floor. I would also have added another light source like a candle near the fireplace to have the outside of the fireplace light up like that. But its a still a great image, even if no changes are made.

Almost no shading on this one, so its ripe for coloring if anyone wants to (and I would love to see it colored!)

Ack, I love the effect on the pipes.. would hate to see that go.

Thanks guys! Its a while since I've drawn muscle bound men!

Mats, if I had made him a more normal looking man it wouldnt have given a powerful impression - not to mention, no tentacles to wrap around the goddess.

Thats lovely Laserschwert! Surprisingly you have made a muted palette work extremely well in the cartoony scene. The shadows and textures are done really good too! ( And no blue patch to boot ;) )

Yours was a totally different style N3T, more asterexy.

The first floor color looks best to me. The right part of the desk towards us is beginning to look messy, it may work better as just two flat color shades. Stripes on the vertical bars distract from the rest of the composition too much. Gotta go for now, will check up on any more reworks later!
