evil - yeah Im just getting used to colors and am trying to do away with the black outlines which makes it tougher. I'll try the contrast thingie.

You could get the lighting to work much better if you think where the lights are coming from and so where the shadows would be cast. Since the fire is to the side and back, the sides of the face, top of the head should be brightest, and the center part darkest. Plus the anatomical errors, which you can get right by using photo or drawn reference.

Wow, very beautiful! Since you are looking at the roof from below, the tiles should be curving in the other direction, goiong down to the left instead of up (and at a bit less angle than currently). Even keeping them straight would remove the 'odd' factor.

Looks great! Only animation I can think is having light wisps of smoke swirl around it. That should look good in a logo.

Reminds me of an adventure game called 'Dark Earth' which was a lot of fun to play. The characters were real time 3D (prerendered backgrounds) and looked a bit like this.

I like the smooth lines on the antialiased floor and lamp compared to the jagged lines on the first.
