I'm sorry, I did neither finish this competition nor replied. Surely I'd say it's okay too make longer. If nobodys absolutely against it, I'll allow further entrys to be made and gonna rate everything tomorrow (means on additional week). Hope that's okay to everyone. Changes on the entrys posted till now will be legal as well.
If you don't want this to happen, pm.
And:
Sorry again and again.

Well. I'd say any game that makes you feel nostalgic will count as old. As everyone makes his expiriences at another time, everyone would call other games the good old ones. This means old means whatever you want it to mean.
And in case someone wants to enter and has never had any feelings of nostalgy when listening to a particular game music, just imagine how it would be like and pretend you have.

Okay.
First, I want to say sorry that it took me so long to start a new competition. Won't happen again.

Second I want you to remember the good old days, when you started to spend most of your freetime in front of good old videogames.

Third I want you to make a tribute song to one game that impressed you beacause of it's music (This game should be good and old, at least old).

This tribute may be of any kind you imagine. Maybe a remake of the soundtrack, maybe a song using the style of the gamemusic, maybe something completely different.

Hauste, wa!

Nope. Can give you all the samples I used. There's a Reverse-Reverb and one swell, that might be illegal. But I thought that the reverse-reverb is just an effect put on percussion and the swell was build with chaotica and I woud count it as sampled noise. Anyway. I could replace it with somethig different, if I'm asked to.

Here's my Sample-Pack:

Pretty cool contest. Always been too lazy to do some proper drum-programming, now I realized how much fun it is.
Here's mine:

Percumission - 1:30 - 1418kB

I tried to encode it at a lower bitrate, but some of the drums, especially the HiHats just souned TOO crappy, so I just post the larger mp3.

I'd call you the winner.

No problems with downloading.

Here's mine:

Not completed yet, but I'm unsure if I get home until the compo ends.

Advanced Technical Forum / Configure keys
Sat 23/10/2004 15:47:49
Found a lot of threads bout keyboard-movement, but none bout this:
Is there a way to enable the player to configure the keys?
I'm thinking of a lot of if's but I'm afraid to start to script it this way, becaus I know that I probably never gonna finish it. Can you stay the keycodes of the keys pressed in variables and then check for these?

I'm with Neutron.
This Background's just great. The only point to not use a background like this in a game would be that all art would have to be as brilliant as this is.

Competitions & Activities / Re: October MAGS

The Screenshots of Bikini Ninja look pretty cool. Are you going to release it apart from MAGS? Maybe at least to show the other resources you did (10 animation frames sound prospering [Ich meine viel versprechend. Hoffe ich habe das korrekte Wort gewählt])?

Yep!
That's the way.

Heyho!
Here's the task for this week:
I thought of a pretty little situation, now it's your turn to illustrate it using the power of music:
Okay! There's a street, peaceful silent, you can hear the blow of the wind, far away a hammer hits on metal, out of a sudden a scream disturbs this silence and nothing's peacful no more, a horde of guys appear out of nowhere, screaming, shouting
THERE'S A RIOT GOING ON

Some kind of developement inside the track would be fine, but the focus is on the riot (That's why I used capital letters, clever, hum?), you could as well put up a hymn, the riot-squad could sing to, or just illustrate the demolition.
Have fun!

P.s.: First competition I launch, if I did any mistakes correct me!

Wow man! I'm really suprised, cause me, too realized the lack of classic.
Thank you.
