@Mandle...I ended up beating 'inside' this morning, and I loved it. I was very sad to see it end because the end part of the game was epic.

It is a short game, but still worth it, and very memorable.

I didn't want to make a new thread, so I'll just throw this in here. Check this out, absolutely awesome puzzle platformer from the makers of Limbo. I haven't been able to stop playing. Pretty sure I paid $19.99 on the PS4 store.

Thanks CW, I'll check this out.

You should use a surge protector on all your high end electronic gear. I'm not sure if what you mentioned is considered a surge protector though.

I would also look into playing around with different fonts too. You certainly want an easy to read font for the player, especially if there is a decent amount of dialog. The font you provided is a little tough on the eyes.

Congrats everyone. It was fun and the entries from everyone were great. I also like the extra bonus features, it really opens up the voting.

First the engagement ring
Then the wedding ring
Then the suffering

Congrats

I think it looks good and matches the other rooms that you've shown. Two things that popped out. The furniture piece where he's checking the mail/books looks a little strange with that texture on it. I also noticed the light on the ceiling. The light fixture suggests that there shouldn't be any light on the ceiling because it's dark on top. This has my brain thinking that there shouldn't be any light cast on the ceiling. Well done though.

I hate when there is this many entries because it makes very hard to leave someone out. Great entries everyone.

2. Creamy
3. Mandle

Shape bonus: Blondbraid

Let's also not forget that Tabata will be receiving an animating bonus of 1 point too.

I do think that there a million ways to upset someone in video games. War games, killing innocent people, murder, blackmail, kidnapping, peeping toms. These are all real things that happen in the world, but for some reason they all get a free pass. Is this because it's just a game? Is it because you're the one trying to catch and or kill the bad guy? Should all these games be deemed bad? After all, I'm sure lots and lots of people have had experiences in the real world with these types of things, but yet there is plenty to read, watch and play.

Just my opinion, but it's very easy to say, nope, I don't like this and not play it. Like people have said, this is a video game, not real life. Shouldn't all books, movies and sitcoms be frowned upon too? I don't think you can pick one thing and not everything.

I have actually thought about making a game where you're the murderer. Am I insane for thinking about this? Maybe? But it's a different spin on, I'm the detective trying to kill or catch the murderer. People used to cheer when Jason in friday the 13th and Michael myers killed people in the movie theaters.

Im sorry if I sound insensitive.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing Cassiebsg. I need another paint program other than ms paint. Poor AnasAbdin had to stop production on his game in order to help me post the picture with the coloring ball cut out. So get ready to wait a little longer for his game because of me.

I'll check out Corel. I'm still driving with square wheels.

Relax everyone. It's just the movie Aliens being shown at the drive in theater.

Nothing is more important than you. Go do you, have fun, enjoy life and f@ck everything else until you feel better. When you feel better, f@ck everything else again! Repeat process until you're tired of enjoying life.

Thanks bud. It's a thankless job. The only satisfaction you will ever get is self satisfaction.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Background art

I think the bottom picture works best with the character sprite. I think another question would be, should you make the character sprite to match the top pick?

I'm working on something. Hopefully I'll be finished in a day or so. It doesn't really fit the theme, but what the hell.

Edit: Just saw AnasAbdin entry....freaking hilarious. Great entries everyone.

That is exactly the same subliminal message I would be using if I was the guy in the pool. SPOT ON!

I know it's not the critics lounge, but if they were moving a bit slower in the pool, I think it would look a bit better. The waters movement looks great. Nice scene.

I did notice one other thing. Shouldn't the main characters actual left knee pad be lower than his right? His left foot is slightly lower than his right, which is fine at the angle in which he is standing, but that leads me to believe that the knee pad should also be lower than the right. I'm just being super critical on a game that looks fantastic.

I now hate CNN. They are lying pieces of crap that edit and cut videos to tell their own stories. They promote hate and violence and for some reason love to hate on law enforcement. To hell with CNN!

This one really takes the cake. Instead of saying shame on this girl for the things she's saying, they make her out to be some promoter of peace.

Looks great! This is right up my universe. Looking forward to playing.

When you finally think it's time to try and make another game, sit at your computer, open your paint program, stare at the screen for 5 minutes and then say "I must be out of my mind" shut everything off and wonder how in the world I did it the last time.

Repeat this process every 2 weeks.
