I'm very sorry for not knowing how to post a Gif yet. I'm working on it. My photoshop was apparently only a trial version and that expired, so I have to fix that. I'm a terrible host, and I apologize! Please before voting, check out Tabata and AnasAbdin pictures in the thread because they are animated, and the still picture does not do them justice here.

Being that I'm working and I have a super bowl party to attend later, I'm going to give this one more day until I can put all these characters together and start the voting.

Last chance to grab a storm trooper participation trophy!

Looking good. Better yet, they look great, especially the girl.

Critics' Lounge / Re: mountain scene

Wow...that moving fog looks freaking awesome! Add a little more fog on the rest of the mountains near the top of the BG and I feel like I'm there.

I'm getting a much better sense of looking downward now. The new BG looks great.

The greatest thing you can probably do is just Google rooms, store fronts, alley ways, hill tops, houses. Look at all the angles and perspectives. Do this when you go to create a room or a background. A real picture never lies.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Rat Channel

I was afraid Tabata might protest this game and start an AGS riot. This looks cool. Good luck with a speedy production.

Happy Birthday!

I must be part of the .1% that completes everything I start. (laugh)

In my case, I need to have fun while I make a game. Seeing a character that I like move around the game world while I make it pushes me through the boring and tedious parts of making a game. So for me, I always want a character very early in the game making process. It seems like both me and the character are creating the world at the same time. The character helps guide me on the path to funny or serious and helps to build puzzles when I know who and what the character is about. This is strictly about staying focused and to help finish your game which as Danzare mentioned...99.9% of game makers don't finish some projects that they start.

I believe it depends on what you are looking to make and how much knowledge you have in making games. Are you the kind of person that doesn't finish games that you have started? If so, it's important to make sure you keep having fun while making the game. I like to have a character made that I'm happy with so that while I make the game, I get a good idea of how things will look while having fun seeing my character move around. Staying interested in your project is very important. When I run into things in my game that I don't want to do, I make sure to always keep progress moving by doing something that I enjoy. Bg's, character animations, inventory objects...etc.

I actually have a hard time making a game on paper. Sometimes the best ideas or parts in your game are the ones that only pop into your head after you have made a bunch of connecting rooms. I always say, don't be afraid to stray away from what you originally planned.

Just when I thought I didn't draw any attention to myself. I noticed 5 strange sets of eyes looking at me. My hand found its way to my laser on my hip, just in case one of these characters approached me.

Nice entries everyone.

Hints & Tips / Re: The Visitor 3
Wed 25/01/2017 12:45:16
Unless I made an easter egg that I'm not aware of, there shouldn't be a car in this game because it takes place on a space ship. I imagine you must be playing part 1 or part 2?

There is a walkthrough for all three games in their hints and tips threads. On the game page for each game you will find a link leading to the games hints and tips thread.

There is a time and a place for every kind of joke.

Keep!

The only thing that sticks out to me now is the grass curling towards the building at the top of the screen. I believe it should go straight up and also curl away from the building instead of towards it.

One more thing. If you look in the window, you can see that the floor boards are facing the wrong direction.

Nice entry Stupot+

Beet Kopp would fit in perfectly at the cantina.

Much better. Very nice!

I'm no expert at perspective, and I never will be, but here is a quick change. As you can see in my my quick and terrible mock up, I can only see into the neighbors yard with the current camera angle, unless of course, like Danzare mentioned, you could be on top of a hill looking down at a town, city, river...etc. Once again though, I'm not saying you need perfect perspective to make a game or draw something nice.
#97
Danzare is correct. It's important to have all objects in the same perspective. I'm not saying that a game must have perfect perspective, but for many of us that understand it more, it pops out dramatically when it does exist.

The house is drawn at an isometric angle, but the tree is not. The tree appears to be directly in front of us, which is fine, but if we can see the houses roof, we should not be able to see up into the tree because the houses angle suggests we are up high looking down.

***Very important Rule***
- Using this shape that came from a stormtrooper helmet, you must create something OTHER than an original stormtrooper helmet. A "NEW" version of the helmet is acceptable. I've added another slightly altered shape that you can choose from. Feel free to create ANYTHING you wish except for the original helmet.

THEME:   I entered the Cantina on Tatooine hoping that I didn't draw too much attention. I quickly found a seat and glanced around the bar to make sure nobody was staring at me. Every time I've come to the cantina, I always see new things and new faces. This time, I didn't see an original stormtrooper, but I did see this....

Rules:
- Fill in the shape. Gaps are accepted in the shape so long as the outline is intact.
- You may color the outline
- You may rotate and flip the shape.
- Filling in both shapes just might get you some extra votes, but only 1 is necessary.
- ***Deadline is February 4th.***
