If I understand correctly, when you enter a space, it's not displayed... that's it?
Well, you could try the character 255 in ASCII mode (accessible with alt+255 on the num pad), it should display an empty character. I can't test it, though...

I came here with no real expectation.
Now, thanks to you, dear voters, I'm feeling a bit anxious... 8-0

:-D.

Thank you and congrats to all the nominees... ;)

we weren't told it was going to be a voting contest to just have a game nominated.
We were, KyriakosCH...

John Carpenter's "The Thing"
I agree. And it's way better than its prequel.

Another movie : I'd say Rosemary's Baby could fit in this category.

Hi,
I am not in front of my computer, so I cannot check right now but at first glance, I'd say that in :
Code: ags
cJulius.ChangeRoom(OLD_ROOM, savex, savey, savedirection);

savedirection should not be a string. It's a particular type of variable...

Come on, people kept asking to add Draconian dark theme to the "official" AGS editor, and when we have an actual test build no one wants to try out ???
Found some time to test it. It works fine.

.ags file is the game content minus the engine executable (it's the raw file which is then used to create the Windows version and the Linux version)
In the Windows folder, the .exe is the engine + the data files.

The usual way to run the game in Windows is to directly use the game .exe file. But you can also copy acwin.exe (the game engine) from your Program files\AGS... folder in the folder containing the .ags file and acwin.exe will run the game using the .ags file.
In this last case, if you want to run the setup, run "acwin.exe --setup".

Quote* now minimizes OpenGL fullscreen mode when you alt+tab from it.
No. Not on my end at least. The game image stays on screen. The "windows" cursor appears on it but I'm not able to access the Windows environment... I'm forced to use ctrl-alt-del and then cancel to find that the game is minimized...
But, I already reported an issue with alt-enter not going to windowed mode correctly for me with OpenGL. I suspect it's a related issue.
I tried it on another PC and it works. So it seems to depend on the system. I had the problem with 2 laptops... I'll try to test this on other PCs...

* no longer crashes with "IDirect3DSurface9::Present failed" when you alt+tab from fullscreen Direct3D.
Yes, this fix works for D3D...

Can't say because I did not see this effect myself before on my PCs...

Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Sat 06/01/2018 14:45:36Also, it looks like there is some sort of "glowing" border around game in OpenGL, it is visible even during fade-out.
I saw this on Youtube videos but thought it was a video capture or encoding issue...

Is it true that OpenGL does not minimize when you alt+tab from fullscreen mode? Does anyone remember if this was always like this?
Following our discussion on another thread, I investigated that possible Alt+Tab issue and I was about to report this exact same problem.
When in fullscreen, neither alt+tab nor Windows_key+D seem to work.
In fact, they do (focus is lost), but the game stays on screen.

QuoteAlso, now Direct3D crashes almost always when you alt+tab from fullscreen, saying "Present failed".
I discoverd that too atm... Crash with this message :
Code: ags
IDirect3DSurface9::Present failed

And I guess this present has nothing to do with last Xmas...

E: Checked the rest of the video, it looks like they begin doing that after certain point? Did user alt+tab somewhere during the game? I recall that may cause some keys "stick" in memory so AGS always thinks that a key is pressed.
Oh, didn't see your edit... Well I'll ask, but it could be that, because, by looking at the video, there's a cut just before the occuring of the bug... So maybe the player took a look at the walkthrough and got back to the game...

Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Sat 06/01/2018 14:19:33are you saying that even if you set "skip only by click" mode they still continue to skip that fast?
Apparently, yes (according to the only feedback I had)...

QuoteDoes your game feature voice-over? If yes, is there a difference if you turn voice on/off?
No!

Hi,

Some players found a weird bug in my game. It's related to the dialogs : they start to skip instantaneously without any user input after some time playing.

Quote from: a player...I've tried playing your game, but unfortunately after a while the text all scrolls through very quickly whenever I examine or do any other actions on things. I restarted a couple times and experienced the same thing.

Or visible here, in this walkthrough video : https://youtu.be/o-nvhUfGK9o?t=2244

My question is : has anyone seen the same problem (possible AGS engine bug) or coult it be just my game (bug in my scripts...)?

The game has the option to change the dialogs skip speed (4 choices : from click-to-skip to high speed) but changing this seems to not be of any help.
It was seen only by 2 players... so it may be related to their system.

I don't have any information on the players' system version atm (it's Windows, but don't know the version).

The game runs with latest stable AGS version (3.4.1.11).

What? The puzzles are mundane? :D
Yes, I get that... they certainly are... I think it's because it all started as a proof of concept for us. The story came after, in order to create a context for the "mechanics" we would like to test... We didn't aim fo originality, that's true ;) Maybe next time?
But glad to see you like it anyway.:)

I also noticed one little grammatical error, although it's not a huge deal
Yes, maybe. As my english is quite basic... I couldn't tell. I found this on WordReference :

"Both one's self and oneself are correct. Most people would use oneself, whereas deep thinkers would use one's self."

So I guess I'll leave it like that (and I don't want to offend my proofreaders :-D). But don't get me wrong, I like nitpicking, thank you ;)
