That pathway in the background looks like it could use some work.  As is, it kind of resembles a tapeworm...  maybe make it wider as it comes closer to the screen.

Oh.  This thread has been revived.  Well, I suppose I'll toss in my chronic illness(es).

Um, well, for starters, I was diagnosed as a manic depressive.  I'm also bi-polar, and I have ADHD.

I know those probably don't qualify as illnesses in some peoples' books, but for me it's close enough.

General Discussion / Re: I was just fired.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.Ã,  That really sucks.Ã,  Next to finding out that your significant other is fooling around on you, there is no bigger ego-crusher like being fired from a job you actually love (not many people can find a job that they like).

I worked at a grocery store when I was 16.Ã,  I stole so much crap from there (I wouldn't really call it stealing, I just took a lot of stuff from the "damaged goods" shelf in the back of the store), as well as a few dirty magazines, and a few packs of smokes.Ã,  Eventually, I ended up being fired from there for coming in late. *laughs to himself*Ã,  That's ok, I hated the job, and my boss was a jerk. XDÃ,  I feel like I walked away the winner in that situation. :P

Anyhoo, back to your dilemma...

They were really being pricks about it, weren't they? "No it doesn't work that way."Ã,  I agree, rules about employee shoplifting are pretty stiff, and stupid, but unfortunately, when you're hired somewhere, it's their way or the highway.

It's probably not a really big loss, I mean, it's Wal-mart.Ã,  Plus you're other boss is willing to take you back.

Didn't the dude from the deli do or say anything to defend you?

Anyway, again, sorry to hear about this.Ã,  I guess that it's probably best to just keep your chin up, and look forward.Ã,  As a lot of people always tell me, play the hand you're dealt.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of beer are you drinking?

Me, just being myself...

Sorry about the profanity.

I've just had an epiphany! (or what ever you call it...)

I remember how Mozesh was thinking of abandoning this project a while back... and WE talked him into continuing on with it.  Remember?

I smell a conspiracy.  >:(

Mozesh lost interest again, and deliberately wiped his own hard drive to so that he wouldn't have to work on it anymore and nobody could talk him back into doing it.

Haha!

"Mozesh" did it in the "hard drive" with the "refrigerator magnet".

These are some drawings I've done with those cro-magnon tools known as a pencil and paper.  (Sorry about the notebook lines.  :-\  For some reason, I just prefer and draw better on notebook paper.)

Some character portraits I was drawing for an RPG-type game:

A werewolf:

*I didn't actually draw this one all by myself, I saw it in a book, and then redrew it.

A tatoo I drew for a friend, and a random design:

Some zombies:

Just want to know what you think.  Comments?  Suggestions?

Come now, I don't think your mother would appreciate being called "easy".  :o

(please don't tell me that you learned that in grade school...)

...

I know I'm no moderator, nor will I pretend to be one, but was all that cussing really neccesary?Ã,  I mean, come on...

*Gives FlukeBlake some Lithium

ANYHOO...

Crap, man.Ã,  Sorry to hear about your HD crash.Ã,  I really wanted to see this project finished one day.Ã,  Doesn't it suck when things like that happen after you put a lot of work into something?Ã,  It's a crying shame.

On another note: Is everybody having computer problems lately?Ã,  I sure am: My blog.

EDIT: Although, I fortunately backed up my hard drive two days before my computer died.

Actually, I remember reading in books long ago when I was a child (probably in 3rd grade or so), that scientists beleived (or had seen) a planet beyond Pluto. Ã, They always referred to it as "Planet X", because they could never confirm that it was an actual planet... something like that. Ã, Too long ago for me to remember. Ã, However, I personally liked "Planet X" rather than "2003UB313"... just sounds cooler. Ã, :P Ã, I remember this because, one day in class, we were learning about the solar system, and when the teacher said there were nine planets, I brought up the topic of this planet. Ã, He and the other students all looked at me like I was nuts. Ã, They all said there was no such thing, that this "Planet X" was nothing more than a fairy tale.

So the news is actually A LOT older than many of you think.

Another thing I'd like to bring up, is that when I was in high school, my science teacher (who actually has a subscription to that insanely expensive magazine, "Science") had read that Astronomers and such no longer considered Pluto to be a part of our solar system, because it was just too far out in space... I don't know if there was any truth in that at all, but I thought it was stupid. Ã, You can't just say that a planet isn't a part of the solar system because it's too far out. Ã, It revolves around our star, so therefore, it is part of the solar system.

So, if they considered Pluto to not be a part of our solar system, then would they say the same thing of this "2003UB313"?

Feel free to correct my knowledge (actually, please do so), I haven't been keeping up on my science trivia for a few years now.

Living alone isn't so bad.  You're the master of your domain.  There's nobody around to nag you about leaving your dirty clothes on the bathroom floor, or about cleaning your shaving scum out of the bathroom sink, or about leaving the toilet seat up... oh, yeh... you're a girl... Well, you know what I mean.

You're just going to need something to keep you busy.  Like for me, I had my computer (until it died on me... >:( ).  So definetly stick to your hobbies.  Be sure to make a few friends, and have some company once in a while... otherwise you'll start bouncing off the walls.  Also, be sure to get out once in a while, go for a walk, or something.

As far as your relationship with your fiance, well... I'm not sure what to say.  I know how hard it is going from seeing that person every day, to only seeing them once in a great while.  I don't really have any good advice to help you cope with this.

Very nice.Ã,  You've got a nice comic book-like style there.  I can't see anything wrong with it.

Thanks for the critique so far, everyone.

ProgZMax - Actually, as I'm writing this, the side view is obsolete.  I have started making a walkcycle, and I'm using the diagonal view as frame 0 for the walkcycle.

Zooty - I'll try to alter their stances a bit.  Because, yeah, I drew the first sprite, and then I made the Richard sprite using the first sprite as a template.

Here's the background again.  I wasn't sure what Gilbot was suggesting, so I'm just re-posting it, and maybe someone can show me (I looked at his quack hick link, and I didn't see any difference...  :-\).

Critics' Lounge / Two characters for C+C
Fri 22/07/2005 09:00:49
Here's two characters.Ã,  Nothing special.

This is a janitor named Sully (go figure).

This is Sully's supervisor, Richard.

Just wondering what everyone thinks so far.

At the bottom of Sully's sprites, you can see a few alternate sprites, I was playing with hair styles, trying to make it fit in with the era the story is set in (1969).

EDIT: ...changed // to .Ã,  Sorry.Ã,  Brainfart.

REEDIT: Removed the background.Ã,  Not enough to show.

Sorry, I can't add anything on how to improve it, but I do want to tell you that I think it sounds great so far. :)

Good job.  Looks great.  You should make some rear views, some side views, and a walkcycle. :)
#379
Umm.  Nice... stick figures...

Are you actually serious about this?

Looks good, although, you should make the toilet seat more rounded.  It's a little too pointy.
