General Discussion / Re: Going to camp!
Tue 29/06/2004 07:12:13
Nuthin wrong with living on a farm.  I live on a farm.

However we do have satellite, a big screen, a computer with dial up (as broadband isn't available at our location), a monster stereo system, a dvd player, and other modern luxuries.

However, it's not hard to go without those things... I also went camping this weekend, up in Eagle River.  I had a blast.  It was me sitting around the bonfire with my three best friends, some other old friends from high school, some local women we met.  We talked, joked around, etc.  I was up there from Thursday night to Sunday morning, and not once did I think about TV, or the internet.  There wasn't even running water at the cabin we stayed at... I found myself taking a hobo bath in the restroom of some gas station.

Although, the one luxury I don't think I'd be able to live without is my cell phone... it's just one of those things.

ROFLMFAO  ;D  It's so ironic to me that someone started this topic.

I didn't think that I was going to die, but on Thursday, I was mowing a friend's lawn, and I damn near chopped off one of my toes with the lawn mower.

The doctor sewed the laceration shut with six stitches.  I didn't even feel the blade of the lawnmower even though it destroyed my shoe.  The only thing that really hurt was the shot of lidicane (the numbing agent), yeh, I screamed (only because it burned like hellfire).  I just barely missed the bone.  I did lose a lot of blood, and now everyone around here is calling me "nine-toes", but at least I'm okay. :P

I would tell you the whole story about how it happened, but it's a long story.

I live in Wisconsin.Ã,  Some observations I've made about this state (because every state in this nation is different):

- A lot of people are absolutely OBSESSED with the Green Bay Packers and every year think that they will make it to the super bowl (even though the Packers DO suck).Ã,  Or, they're just obsessed with football in general.
- Yes, people here do wear those stupid cheesehead hats to Packer games.Ã,  Sometimes you'll catch a person wearing one for no apparent reason.
- There is a Wisconsin accent, we say "beg" instead of "bag", and "worsh" instead of "wash", etc.Ã,  Not too many people talk like hicks, though... "I shot dat dere 10-poiner wi mu 12-gauge when I wuz up nort' last yeer".
- Hicks and rednecks are pretty sparse.Ã,  A lot of the people seem to be more... what's the word... "downtrod".
- The only thing people seem to like to do for fun around here is sit and drink beer.
- Sports and hunting is everything.
- There are a lot of fat people.Ã,  I think we're the third or fourth 'fattest state' in the nation, not sure.
- Wisconsin cheese IS the best (that's just my opinion).
- I'd say about 4 out of every 5 people own a firearm of some type.  The majority seems to be shotguns, or hunting rifles.

That's all I can really think of for now.

Didn't you post something like this a long time ago... asking us which game we would like to see made?

Quote from: Czar on Sat 12/06/2004 14:06:42And Mr.Hyde, for me skimming through 80 posts a day isnt very fullfilling(sp) in any sense. I would definetly skim through 8 mail post to find 1 or 2 real ones, than through 80.

Hyde, how can you say that when skimming through your junkmail folder you come across the phrase "adventure games" etc that you wouldn't click on the link and furthermore consider buying the product?  I'm sure millions of men wake up each day thinking "if only i knew where to get a penis enlarger.."

I'm sorry, I don't understand what either of you are talking about.
#532
I don't really think there would have been.Ã,  I don't even think a lot of people read their junk mail, it just becomes a daily routine; check my inbox, skim through my junkmail to make sure there aren't any important letters/letters from friends in there, empty my junkmail.Ã,  At least that's how it is for me.

Could possibly have been a little revenue earned with all those penile enlargement ads (when they first came out at least, before people realized, "Hey, this crap doesn't work!").

Porn, without a doubt, had to have generated some money.Ã,  Cuz, as we all know, (say it with me, kiddies...) "Sex Sells!".

One thing I wanna know... what's with all this gibberish lately?  I took this out of the footer of a peice of junk mail I got,
catch far into criticize sake. confidence quickly work misspell lost feel beautiful ten" would land coming heart central sharp opportunity, bad north allowed slow desire ready, help your education former writer. taste disease eat especially ache! knows age etc heaven money is social"

Well.  This concludes my first time hosting a Photoshop Whateverday.

We got some nice entries, you all did a fine job.

Choosing the winner was kinda tough... but it ended up being a tie between Esseb and Ali.

After some further thought, I decided to go with Esseb's entry of the Grim Fandango Dating Simulator.

Good job, Esseb.  You have the floor. :)

:-\... I'm sorry...  :-[

I don't know about cute, but some of the male dental assistants I've had were a little too friendly...

*sigh*

...I'll never be the same again... :(

Hey, these sprites are awesome!  I like Daz's edits the most.  But you did a pretty good job on them yourself.  ;)
#537
Noper.  It's based on Corey Feldman's character in the movie, "Stand By Me".

Third from the left.

Very nice sprite, Evil. :)

Recently, I found this... http://moviesonline.ca/phpBB2/ageofthedead.php

I love zombies, so I'll be a part of that once it gets up and running.  The MMORPG also. (god, I hate acronyms)

I don't even know what MUD stands for... :P

I haven't had my wisdom teeth pulled out yet.  I should have had it done years ago when I had the chance.

Not that my wisdom teeth hurt or anything, but I do have this one tooth in the back, whenever I eat anything sweet, it's like someone's electrocuting me.

[trying to scare you]I never liked going to the dentist, because of all that poking around with hooked probes... and all the novicane needles.  I wonder if they use a pliers to pull teeth like the ones I use to turn bolts... does laughing gas really work all that well?[/trying to scare you]

:P

Anyway, good luck!
