General Discussion / Re: Gay, the insult
Sun 20/04/2008 07:57:57
Someone calls you 'Gay' it's an insult...Period.  :' I've never seen it used to good effect. Anytime anyone CALLS you anything, it's more than likely an insult.
How would you feel, if someone jumped in your face and called you a 'Straight' or a 'Norm'. Being constantly labeled, with something like that.

Now if they ask, it all depends on how they say it, the intent behind it. Sometimes it's honest curiousity, sometimes it's malicious. It would be nice if orientation didn't matter to anyone but perspective partners. Too many gay people are treated like circus sideshows.

People, just don't get it. Being gay can sometimes mean you have to present your sexuality like a business card. I want people to define me as a person first, as gay second. Gay has become a synonym, for 'non-functional' or 'stupid' which is sad. But it's lingo, it comes it goes, and gay people can't be sensitive to harassment, it's the way the world is. All we can do is try and take the higher-road, and hope for the best.

P.S. Straight People can't be sensitive EITHER. I mean besides a honed intuition 'gay-dar'. How else WOULD you like people who are genuinely curious to find out?

P.P.S Check out my blog. http://www.myspace.com/letstalc - further ranting.

Check this out Ben? I loved your castle, it's so fun to draw over, there's a thousand variations on things... I kinda experimented, it turned out so so. But I fixed the windows.

Yeah I figured put the most explicit image up here first, that way the rest would seem ok. (weird logic I know). And yeah I figured it best to warn people, ya know how it can be...

(UPDATE)
I've updated the download, to INCLUDE setup!

Yarooze, Yaoi RULES!

Hey Vertigo! Don't let that stop you... Hahaha, the world needs more gay games! lol. ;D

It's basically good, but the black sillohuette's seem to sit on top of the gui, whereas I think they'd look better if they looked inset. If you just anti-aliased it a little bit... It would improve it alot.

*Due to a request by a member, I've had to stop 'rating' individuals works with my stars system. Sorry.

A Shonen-Ai Guy Game

http://www.geocities.com/dreamedupgames/awalkinthepark.zip

Hey, this is my first game, so I don't expect to win, LOL. Then again, maybe no one else will enter, and I'll win by default!
Now updated to include SETUP.
*Warning this game contains 'Shonen-Ai' and Homo-Erotic themes...*
*If you are offended by such material please don't download. The author of said content can be found on this forum. *

P.S. Thanks Ben and InCreator for doing 1st line beta-ing. I've updated based on your suggestions. Peace.

Yes, please draw the char! Also, I don't agree with Andail , I like the coloring the way it is. The vivid colors, lend to the cartoony setting. Recoloring, and Desaturing, if done, must be done very carefully. Too much desaturation will take all the great flavor outta that drawing. :) but this is just me, the final determination will have to be done by you.

You did that in ANIM8R?  I always found Anim8r interface counter-intuitive. As in, I'm too stupid to use it properly! LOL, I'd love to see you use Anim8r in combination with Google Sketchup Pro, then export it to a high-class render/lighting program, would be majorly sweet.

I must have missed your first ONE? Please reply with a link to your old topic thread? As for how it looks, only thing I don't like is the cone at the bottom, something about the way it's colored seems incongrous with the rest of the uh, rocketship?

;D Good luck with the Wacom Tablet! I have one, and still found it like fingerpainting... Too inprecise... But I've heard ppl can do WONDERS with them! And I think if you keep going, you may become a MASTER at spriting the blinking animation! J/K everyone's given ya good advice on that one... As for your artwork, I'd grade them but WHOOO, which ONE?

I love it. Nuf' Said! 9/10 Stars! [*********'] (I'm SO envious of you...) It's lovely, could you draw something like that and then shrink it down to sprite size? Is that even possible? -SAG

Dualnames, I'll be honest. I don't like it. Perhaps this is because, I don't like the style.  But I think in the end, style must make way for function and your background comes off dark and confusing, perhaps because of aforementioned conflicting styles. Please don't think me harsh, lol, keep working on it. Or ignore all this advice and do what YOU like eh? I give it:  3/10 Stars [***''''''']

Yeah, Thanks. I had hoped to not make it 'too much' when I was composing it as midi. Then when I ran it through my keyboard like a synthesizer, I was afraid it would come off too 'heavy'. It's meant to be just bg, music! Glad to know that the effect came through! Thx Klypt.

I luv it, but there's somethin' about the char... It just doesn't reach out and connect with me. But maybe once I see the animation, it'll hold more charm. BUT OMG THE BACKGROUND! I love the style, it's awesome! Relli. CHAR 5/10 Stars [*****'''''] BG 8/10 Stars [********'']

Loved it, It's very good. Though I don't see how it relates to this particular forum (I'm willing to overlook that because it's good hehehe). I guess it might INSPIRE someone, to make a game out of the short story... (like me for instance hehehe) lol. As for a title? How about something like "TOXIC" ? Whatever though, all in all and so finally I give it, 7/10 Starz! [*******''']

Yeah he is, I'm really in love with the Char design, specially the updated version done by Ben. And yes he's the main char. I've got some uploading to do, but I can show you the 'complete' turnaround set if you'd like. As for the walkies (they're gonna make ME commit suicide uggh.)

Here's that turnaround!
