Is there any way to check the computer's clock with AGS? I was thinking that it'd be neat to maybe have a game whose day and night times took place at local time, beased on your computer 's clock. Is this at all possible, or am I just fantisizing again?...

I think he means the old movie...

I can't figure out how to get rid of the second dog in front of the castle.

Spoiler
I read a walkthrough saying that I need to et the cactus from the lady by knocking on her door, then taking it. What cactus? What am I supposed to do here? Anyway, I have a box, a pen, a shovel, something that I don't remember what it is (I think it says BEE on it, but I'm not sure), and the potion that Eggman mixed for me.

Thanks for your help.

Though I like the LOOK of the handle, I know it's probably not how I'd want the handle of the shield to be if I was holding it (horizontal and not vertical?!).

And for the record, I thought the grassdirt comment was pretty clear.  ;)

For the side walkcycle, if I was doing it, I'd make it look more as if he was pushing off with is toe with the back leg, and have the foot less flat on the ground. And/or I'd edge the back leg back even further.

In case anyone else was having this problem:

Spoiler
What worked for me was LOOKING at the paranormal book section a number of times, each time saying that there was a different book that caught  your eye (or something of the sort). When the witchcraft one was the latest one mentioned, I USED the book, and it gave me the note.

I also USED the other books as they were mentionned, too.

Hello. Stuck again. I'm sorry that I must be retarded. Can't figure out what to do with the church. Or whatever.

Anyway,

Spoiler
I just pried the gum off the slot I found on the door, and plopped the red coin into the slot, but now I seem to be stuck in that screen!

I have the tape, medicated steak (I think it was supposed to dissapear after I gave it to the dog), axe, dry sponge, shed A key and backdoor key.

But I can't figure out what to do next. Is this some weird bug?

Your help would be appreciated.

EDIT: DAMMIT, never mind. I found the freakin' spot that I was supposed to click on. Geez I'm an idiot.

In case anyone out there has the same problem (unlikely as that is):

Spoiler
The spot to click in interact mode is over on the right bottom of the brown part of the screen. You should see a "exit" hotspot name pop up in your status bar.

Yeah, yeah. 320 x 240, 320 x 200... whatever. Just keep 'em comin'!  ;D

Huge Barfight: The Aftermath
You've seen an action movie or two, right? Even some with some fighting in them? Well, one of the popular places for brawls that I can think of is at the bar (or pub or whatever).

What I want to see is what the drinking establishment looks like the morning AFTER all heck broke loose and it saw its biggest barfight ever.

The bar can be from any time period or setting (past, present, future... contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi... whatever).

-PARAMETERS-
Colours: 256 or less
Size: 320x240

I second the codpiece idea. I think it would add a lot to the character's comedic value, since that seems to be what you might be going for.

Thanks, Darth.

Though it may be a good idea for someone to add that bit of info to the "Forum charter: Competitions and Activities forum" thread, for future n00b reference.  ::)

Since this is the first competition I've been in on these forums, how/ when is the winner decided (in case it turns out to be me)?....  :-[

I also like Pixelcat's better, though Darth's is still very nice.

Nothing for the stairs here, but for decor, you may want to consider a bull's skull and/or horns, liquor bottles, a mirror, a barrel, a spitoon, hooks (maybe... like to hang a hat or jacket on), some wanted posters, possibly a spider web...

I also suggest that you take a good, hard look at the perspective  in this one and/ or test the screen out with a character (even a stand-in, if you need to). To me, the 2nd level of the place (the walkway or whatever you wanna' call it) looks like it's not really up high enough, especially when you consider the number of stairs you seem to be thinking of using. Of course, maybe it's just me....

Guh. Was there any reason that the snake had to be used, even? (a hint given by the game, I mean...)

Either way, thanks for the hint, Primus -- finished it up now. :)

Really diggin' these. Personally, if the girl's hair is to stay blonde, I'd be sure she was an important character, and have her hair be the only coloured one in the game... but that's just me.

I also like the 2nd dress better, but the 1st one may be more suited to the description you gave. Something in between may be in order -- either a diagonal cut or a side slit, maybe.

Hints & Tips / Beyond Reality

Stuck at the guard in Beyond Reality.

Spoiler
I have the matches, larvae, feather, laxitives (I used them on the bird in a previous saved game, but with no noticable result), the string, the money, the note (paper with directions), the pillowcase and the red paint.

I've read that I have to dangle the feather down from the tree on the ledge, but I don't have a rope and the tree doesn't seem to be a hotspot (and yeah, I understand that the guard's afraid of insects, which is why I'm to tickle him). So I figured that maybe I was supposed to dangle the feather from the string tied to one of the signposts, but that doesn't seem to be working either.

In short, I'm missing something, but I'm not 100% sure what that something is.

Thanks in advance.

There's something about his lower hand that bugs me... Maybe it won't look bad onec things are animated, but right now at a quick glance it looks a little... um... wang-ish.
