Hi ya all,

As you can see from the subject I have trouble with my custom inventory. You see, I've been trying to make it suit my fancies for a week and still I didn't complete it all.

You see, it took me six days to realise that ProcessClick doesn't work on GUIs and four days to realise I had to use LEFTINV or RIGHTINV (and not left and right), and many other stuff. Now I can (finally) pick up an item with left click and bring the verb coin on right click in inventory.

So, what is the trouble now? Well, you see, I noticed that the default inventory goes away when I do somethind and waits until it is finished and after that it brings the inventory back on. How do I do that? I tried many ways, including the Wait() function but still I didn't get it to work right.

Another thing: @overhotspot@ doesn't work properly in inventory windows. I mean, the label with @overhotspot@ shows "key" when the cursor is over the key item, but the "key" word does not go away unless I press the mouse button anywhere except on an item, leave the inventory area or put the mouse cursor above a different item. Why does it work that way?

Anyway, these are my main problems right now. There are some more small problems but I think I can handle them myself.

Any help is appreciated

Greetings,

I am a new AGS user and I've found this cool engine almost accidently. I was going to create my game with harder tools which would take too much time. I was lucky to find this great tool for doing exactly what I want to do.

My game is still in design progress, but I won't show anything yet unless I have something cool to show. I just want to ask some n00b questions:
a) Is it possible to make a Gui exactly like the one in Monkey Island?
b) Is it possible to make a Gui on and not interrupt (pause) the game? If so, how?

I am not *that* n00b, ya c I managed to do some cool stuff by messing around. I managed for example to make a custom inventory appear/disappear with the right click, but what I don't know (and I guess it is something very advanced) is how to bring up a small GUI when I click an object/character/hotspot/item with all the possible interactions (Use, Examine, Talk and maybe more) and then when I click that interaction it does it on the object. I hope you understand what I mean. If you don't, then I mean something like the GUI of Monkey Island 3 or the GUI of Gabriel Knight 3 (only in 2d mode).

I don't want you to write for me a whole tutorial (unless that tutorial already exists) on how to make that, I just want to know some useful tips or something like that, or at least tell me if it is possible at all.

Thank you,
Guybrush Peep... errrr... Threepwood  ;)
