I'm listening again. It seems the previous time I listened to it I forgot my subwoofer bass turned way too loud which ruined the guitar sound :P

I still don't fully like it (most likely because it's overdrive instead of distortion), but it's much better this way and I can now fully understand it as a matter of taste.

- tube, why do you thing German language kills a mood? I find it actually a lot more interesting than English (in songs), because you know, almost every song out there is English...

Just a matter of personal taste I'm sure. The harsh phonetics and the rather convoluted grammar are part of it, but the psychological damage made by all those years in school trying my best not to learn German probably do not help either. ::)

I totally dig the German language, especially in music, but I dislike French for the same psychological reasons :P

What I didn't like is the sound of the guitar - not the playing, which was spot on. The sound is very bad, too dirty for my tastes. I think more people will agree with this.
Here I have to disagree, I found the sound of the guitar very good, but then I just love dirty/distorted guitars.

And I'm a fan of Metal who listens to distorted guitars many hours a day :P but I guess it's also a matter of taste...

This is not my style of music, but I liked it a lot.

I think the vocals are great and fit the style, but I'd suggest trying a harsher voice in a few select parts (like 00:51-00:53, especially 00:52). I'm not talking about getting a different vocalist, but the same vocalist making a slightly harsher vocals.

A meat pie from Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop :P

Oh right, my wish: I wish I was sexy.

Okay okay, I'm going to help you because apparently nobody else will.

Here's the Pixel Gun, use this to shoot pixels and make sprites! It has three advanced RGB sliders on the side, that lets you determine the colour of the pixel bullet.

And here's the Pixel Shotgun, for that spray brush effect!

My scientists are currently working on the Pixel Laser Gun, which will let you draw lines. As a later project, we're planning to develop a Pixel Launcher, for shooting concentrated pixels and recreate the big brush effect.

The above sprites were both made by just using the Pixel Gun.

Thanks for your reply, every comment is appreciated :)

@ambientcoffeecup: I'm aware that my music always jumps a lot. This is of my more consistent songs though and I think the transitions are just fine with it. Personally I'm into progressive stuff, I don't enjoy repetitive music much ^^

As for the instruments, I used whatever I thought sounded good in this midi version. I'm sure that in a real recording I'd choose different instruments at some points.

It's not meant to be music for a game, but what I'd like to change was to make it longer :P I cannot force it to stretch or add anything else to it though, it will be ruined.

@Tuomas: Something like that, yeah :P And I don't know about adding lyrics to it, if I do I'll probably have to add some vocal friendly parts.

I like it, but I'd say his collar in the front view looks kinda odd. Try to make it more curvy in the middle. Otherwise, I can't think of anything else that is obvious.

Critics' Lounge / The Citadel - Midi music

I've posted a much earlier version of this ages ago. In particular, only the first 1:37 minutes of that version were maintained, but even so they've been edited to sound better.

I think I'm very happy with it, even though I'm still fiddling around with some minor details.

Any suggestions? Comments, Criticism? Also, I'm always having trouble determining the genre of my music. Some people told me this is some kind of Progressive Gothic Metal, other's say it's Avante-Garde, etc

I have a blog, I put some of my creations up there. BUT it's more like an archive for myself, only my friends know about it and I intend to keep it that way.

Were you telling his Tallbot to please move?
Or maybe it was as fun as that Day with Michael you once had.
Oh, and did you do it in Bernard's Room? That would be Bad Luck, you know.

How about Orangutang? I've never seen anyone with this nickname before

wow, great theme! I'll try to make something, thanks to my limited free time that's not going to be very easy.

Well, this is only an extremely fast edit, I know it looks weird.

But I'm sure you'll understand my suggestion. Fixing the new pavement and the building lines (so it doesn't look like a rectangle drawn in MS Paint) would help.

The road was too wide in proportion to the buildings.

I suppose classical and opera music counts, so yeah, even though I'm not too much into that. This "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" song is wonderful, thanks for the link!

it IS blue, you fool!

See? >:(

Seriously now, you missed this part, and this.

Notice how the concept art is also ripped off and how it was used in the game. We only have a few Amiga screens, and two of them have plagiarized material. And they're in-game screenshots, I doubt they'd replace that for the final product.

It's wonderful how they even released a DVD with the game that has concept art and bonus features. It seems to me they totally overrated themselves.

Actually I don't get it. Is this some sort of a publicity stunt or are just plain stupid? And here I was thinking programming requires brains...

Quote from: some guy at http://www.gamespot.com/news/6192856.htmlThat would be because if you look at the forms for Wintermute (the engine for the game) Steve Bovis requested assistance numerous times on help for scripting the code for the game. So they (Majestic Studios, three people) could not even program the game.

So they ripped: Backgrounds, Menu Art, Models, Audio, Video, Concept Art (wtf ???) and who knows what else. Add that they couldn't even fully program the game themselves.

Now I only feel sorry for Tri Synergy studios. They're the ones who lose, and they have no fault at all (unless they knew about this, something which we all doubt)

I hope Majestic Studios will end up in Limbo until they make the game from scratch, using their own art, to redeem themselves.

Well, it's the next best excuse one can figure out after "we didn't think anyone would notice" or "we didn't think it was that big of a deal". Did they actually specify who this so-called external source is?

Also, check this out http://lotl.wikia.com/wiki/Limbo_of_the_Lost_Wiki

A collection of all the comparisons.

Then use GoldWave, it will do. When you get it, go to File > Batch Processing. You can then add files and processes to them. I think what you'll need is simply the MaxMatch process. You can also add the process Remove Noise (select Hiss Removal from the list of presets) to remove background noise. There's tons of things you can do, even save them all into one single format (say, mp3).

It works for ogg files too, just edit a couple of files manually to see what exactly you'll need to do.
