I finished mine in a while, it didn't come out neardly as good as I hoped it would.

I have a problem, the program I use doesn't save to digital audio and I have to record my soundcard's output to save to mp3. The problem is, when I do that it loses a lot of the atmosphere. I spent most of the time trying to get the best atmosphere, fixing the volumes and everything, and most of that is lost because of this stupid thing. So if anyone can suggest something I could do in the future I'd be very thankful...

Anyway, here is what I have now: http://rapidshare.de/files/18272870/Gypsily.mp3.html

This is not an adventure game and looked boring and lame to me. However I started playing and found it very fun, even though it's nothing more than just fast mouse clicking reflexes.

You people don't know anything ???

The reason of the magnificent power that dwells within this Great Blue Cup (I use "great" not as an adjective expressing a physical size; refer to my previous post) is because this cup is, in fact, the Holy Grail.

As said in the Revelation of Jones, chapter 5:
And behold, there was a heavenly cup [blue, as the colour of the sky], and the Lamb drinketh from the cup; Then the Lamb filled the cup with the wine of His wrath and poured it over Babylon, the Great City. And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters.

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having an orange cup
[which is none other than the Anti-Blue Cup, as orange is the inverted colour of blue] in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

It strikes me how the biblical knowledge of people nowadays has declined. It is yet another sign of the end times!

But that spoils the fun! Wouldn't it be more mysterious if we didn't know the size of the cup? Everyone then would have the possibility to give their own size to the cup, the way it works for them. Throwing away the adjective "big" ruins all the fun, rapes our imagination and blatantly forces us to accept an idea of a big cup that CJ shoves down our throats in the disguise of a cute little adventure engine. No thanks!

Very nice! There's not anything to critisise as far as the melody, I do have some mixing-wise critisism though.

The left and right stereo channels are unbalanced. There's more stuff going on in the left channel and less on the right. This is too noticable if you wear headphones, but luckily it's quite easy to fix.

There's a tons of things you can do, obviously you could add something on the right channel, but if you don't want to do that you might try fixing your percussion. It all sounds panned left, you could remove the left-panned cymbals and replace them with right-panned cymbals (or have both left and right). You might need to listen with headphones to help you fix it.

Guys, guys

You've all been consumed by this endless debate about Blue Cup that leads to nowhere but division among your brethren. You've argued so much that you've forgotten how the Blue Cup is to be worshipped. Please, think of your actions, the days of the Anti-Blue Cup are near!

...I seldom hear of Christians who support the theories of the Big Bang or evolution as being potential mechanisms of God's will.

Hey, a lot of them do. They just aren't as loud as the ones who don't.

They are also way fewer in USA than in other countries, and if you find them there they're mostly slacky christians (correct me if I'm wrong)

Wow some awesome entries there! Helm's and Ghormak's are my favourite, but there are more good ones. I'm working on mine, it will take a while because I'm slow but it won't be nearly like the quality of Helm's or Ghormak's.

Great idea! I love writing songs using weird scales. I'll try to make one soon, thanks for the awesome rules ;D

nihilyst: I don't understand how what you said can be considered wrong by every other Christian. That's exactly how I think of God and how I understand the Bible describes Him. It doesn't come in conflict with the literal interpretions at all. Maybe you are referring to Him as a faceless force, then that would be different; I see it as a force but also as a person at the same time, it's complicated to describe it.

Essence of Sorrow: http://www.myspace.com/essenceofsorrow I found out about this a couple of days ago. It's a nice metal band, not sure what style (somehow power metal)

Firefight: www.purevolume.com/fireflight I found out about this yesterday, it's a "meh" rock band with female vocals.

1.  I don't really know, but the world is getting less and less christian so I guess not

2.  Morally based, yeah. Not everyone is a Christian. But I don't think wars are caused because of religion, religion is always the excuse.

3.  Yes they do, but I can't decide if they should or shouldn't be. Some leaders are using religion as an excuse for their practises or to get people on their side (see above and below)

4.  Be neutral. I'd welcome a true Theocracy, but that's extremely hard to happen. Unfortunately, some people will always want to exploit religion, it can have a lot of profit for those in high places.

I'm kinda sick of seeing many other Christians destroying themselves by being too legalistic or close minded. I've met Christians who take the Bible literally (except the parts that are obviously symbolic) and yet are very down-to-earth, open minded and intelligent people - but sadly, I have to admit that most devoted Christians I met are very naive. I noticed that a lot of times when Christians are extreme about certain situations they just want to convince themselves about their beliefs that they doubt themselves but won't admit it (if that makes sense).

I'm also sick to have people tell me I have to back everything up with Scripture or else my opinions on certain issues don't stand. Okay smarty pants, next time you go to the super market check your Bible to find your shopping list.

I lost a great friend once because she got influenced by 7th day adventists and had to "follow what God told her" and ended up as a radical person who was on a rampage against Christmas trees / Santa Clause (because they're taking focus off the birth of the Savior) and against going to the movie theatre (I'm embarassed to type the reasons of why not go). That's when I became more liberal.

I went kinda off-topic there, it's some of my thoughts as a semi-liberal christian.

Small update:

It's going really slowly, thanks to my lack of time. I think parts of it are good by themselves, but the whole thing lacks unity. It's an issue I always face when I colour...

Hey ildu, thanks for your help!

I haven't disappeared, I just don't have enough time available. I can work on my stuff either at the weekends, or during school (and it's kinda hard to carry my computer to school). Every time I post something here I might not feel like changing that work a lot, but I do take the advice seriously for my next projects.

I started working on a book cover design (in my graphic design class) and I used the composition advice and put some perspective too.

So when I have more free time at home (which will hopefully be this weekend if I don't go somewhere) I'll try applying some of your colouring advice on this one. I also thought of printing some copies of this and colour it by hand.

Anyway, thanks for your advice again, I hope I'll have something new soon ;D

Thanks everyone for your comments

Nik, I can draw even cleaner stuff, it's just that at the moment I drew my other stuff I was, well, depressed, and hence the freakiness in those. Though I'm still excited on the angels and demons theme, I draw other stuff too now (but still some freaky stuff).

DonB, he's not piercing the insect at that moment, right now he's just examining it. That's why he's bending backwards, because he finds the insect disgusting. I thought the pose was good...

Ildu, as you might be able to see, I didn't start this with a vision in my head. I first drew the head, then the stone behind him, then the building on the left. The spikey things on the right were the last thing I did. But as I said, I didn't have anything specific in my head from the beginning so that's why it has unbalanced details. I want to focus on the character and on the things on the right... Thanks for your advice, I'll draw more specific things from now on.

What do you mean by composition, exactly?

I'll post updates of the colouring when I have something new, by the way

Hey everyone

I'm currently working to get some art finished for my portfolio, they'll ask for one since I'm going to study Graphic Design. I still have two years thanks to the army but I guess the more I practise the better I get.

Here's one I'm working on:

Colouring is still in progress, but here's what I have so far:

A larger version of the background is here, it would screw the forums up so I give you the link instead: http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/scan_.JPG

So what would you change? What bothers me is the perspective, it looks like someone bent the image. Too late to fix that I guess, unless I have to redo the whole thing. Another thing that bothers me is the legs (of the character and the creature on the left) and the lower right corner that seems empty. I'll appreciate any help

Not xDisciplex, that's a different band and I think it got renamed to something new now. I was talking about Disciple, without the "x". I don't listen to them frequently anymore, they're hard rock but their new stuff sounds commercial rock and lost that special vibe they had.

And I do listen to not christian stuff. I don't listen to straight satanic stuff, but I'm totall fine with not christian stuff - I even had arguments with "secular music is bad for you" kind of people. The reason I know more christian bands is that my main people source of music information are christian.

I have Nightwish and Epica but I think I'm over that kind of music. I also have Iced Earth, Pantera, some older stuff (Deep Purple, Scorpions, etc) and a few more. Also, have Blind Guardian, their album Nightfall in Middle Earth is my favourite album I've ever heard but I don't like their other stuff much.

I heard Vomitorial Corpulence before and I have to say that my farts sound better than them.

I do, but I also classify you as a person who hasn't listened to too much music in his young life.
oh excellent, now this community has found something else to make me the butt of all jokes-apparently i haven't listened to much music in my "young" life. Hey, what about the fact that i can't play soccer well, or perhaps you can all laugh about my blonde hair. GOD, why must I be the one? How come we all don't pick on, just completely out of random, Andail, or Nikolas, or yodaman11111?
What have i done during my time on this forum that was so wrong??

Nothing, Helm has a habit at talking bad about music other people listen to :P. You are not the first person who gets a comment similar to that. And by the way, there was a thread about System of a Down a while ago, so you're not the only person on the board who listens to them anyway. So please ignore that comment...

System of a Down are not that bad musically, I used to be a huge fan... Not anymore though. The fact that they're big hypocrites is one of the reasons I stopped listening to them, they keep preaching about the System but it's the System that made them rich :=. I think Chop Suey and Spiders are their best songs.

There's tons of better music out there. The band that got my attention off Soad was Disciple - their new stuff is awful, the older stuff rules. I doubt anyone here knows about that band though. Does anyone here know it?
