Wintermute is another free adventure game engine, which actually seems pretty cool. Maybe not as easy-to-use as AGS, but its graphic engine is obviously superior and faster. It also has 3d character support.

When I saw the colours I was surprised and thought this was a new design. Then I saw "wintermute", I immediately figured out it's an April's Fool joke.

First person:
Doom 1 & 2, Quake 1, Half-Life (better than all their sequels)

1st person RPG Horror:
System Shock 2 (scariest game ever!)

Other:
Thief 1 & 2 (masterpieces!!!)

Action Adventure:
Tomb Raider 1 & 2 & 3 (especially 2, better than all the sequels)

There are definately more, but these are the ones I can remember. They don't make games like those anymore...

SS2 and Thief 1 & 2 were made by Looking Glass Studios, a team that got bankrupt despite their real devotion in quality gameplay. It's a shame just thinking about it.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got confused over the word "landmarks" and thought you were asking for classics. Still play the above, they're much better than most of today's games.

How's that, we let them come out of the kitchen for a while and now they're trying to take control over us? How can they be so ungrateful?
..

I checked in the beginning of this thread and saw that the the initial topic was a classic "I'm making a game" thread with the expected "finish your other projects first"/"not original enough" kind of replies. Then I checked this later and see the topic changed to homosexuality, Finally I come again to see that the topic changed to men beating women. Well done everyone ;D We might as well change the topic to religion now, or else Jesus will smite you.

It gets better and better, this guy's a genius!

You do realise it's not him playing though, right?

Yeah, I can see some parts when it doesn't fit. He's playing along, but you can still see he has some skills

Most original ever...

Just kidding :P

Here's my entry:

I started working on them before I saw Prog's entry, so the theme similarity is coincidential.

I have weak bones but thankfully never got myself in a real accident... I did fall from my bike a few times but not seriously, except that one time where I hurt my knee and left me a scar for a few years.

The weirdest injury I've ever had was when I was four and I... kicked a cactus. Really, I was four and I thought my shoe would protect me, and it didn't. The spike got right between my toe and finger (damn my luck) and the doctors had to rip off my nail to remove the spike and for a while I was walking with slippers and putting medicine on my nail-less toe until it grew back again.

General Discussion / Re: Scientology

Oh no, he's not going to promote Mission Impossible 3! Now what are we gonna do? :o that's serious blackmail there... Because you know, Mission Impossible 3 is actually worth seeing, unlike South Park ::)...

I think the fact that Scientology involves an evil dictator called Xenu who lived before earth is logical proof that the religion is, in fact, fake. Xenu sounds like something only a fiction writer could think (pun intended), because Xenu is such an original impressive name that comes from Greek word "xenos" and variations of it are often used in science fiction (and other) fiction stories. And even if it's completely coincidential I really doubt that in the pre-Teegeeack-life years it would be considered as impressive and fitting for an alien dictator and somehow I feel like Hubbard just came up with the name "Xenu" because it sounds impressive.

Of course I know Veni Domine, Stryper and Seventh Avenue ;D. I don't know a lot of bands though, and I don't know anyone where I live who listens to any metal other than Metallica, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, etc. My only source of good music is people I know online.

I heard some Jag Panzer before, they're good but never was much into them. My tastes changed since then, so I'll give them another chance. If you could recommend an album, what would it be? I guess I'll include them in my list next time  I order music cds.

I don't like it a lot though. Is it ok if I make another entry?

I don't hate you, Fluke. I've been here for two years and I'm still a n00b. I did check out that midi you made, I liked it as well but didn't post because there wasn't anything that hadn't already been said.

Ooh i didn't know guests couldn't modify their posts!

Doesn't Helm call anything rubbish that he personally doesn't like?

(And Helm is an evil genius anyways so don't pay much attention to him)

It is my pleasure to enlighten you sir, though you were not the target of my generous offer of divine knowledge. Petra was the target, because my pirate insticts told me there's a possibility he might not have known that fact.

And I really have nothing better to do other than paying attention to what Helm says about the music I listen to.

I like power metal and I think Theocracy are ridiculous.

I respect that you don't like them, but why ridiculous? It's far from ridiculous. The first  (and only, so far) album is full of emotion and was all written, performed, recorded, mixed by one person alone, and while this does not guarantee quality it shows a lot of talent and devotion. You don't like the lyrics either, apparently, seeing how they're christian and all, but putting the message aside, the lyrics are poetry (unlike stereotypical Christrian stuff).

Anyway, Petra - nobody told you to quit, just not post excessively as if this is your own forums. I suggest you get a members account where you can edit your existing posts.

This thread reminds me of the cripple fight episode in South Park.

I'll never figure out what's so good about Meshuggah. I haven't heard their older stuff, but I heard a few songs on internet radio stations and they are boring with fake growls. Some songs are nice though.

Lately I've been obsessed with Theocracy, any song by them rules. It's melodic metal with amazing vocals. The first album is written, recorded and mixed my one person alone in his house, yet it sounds so good.

and will the mystery of the Man Behind the Windowâ,,¢ be revealed? It looks either like he's praying, or that he's a cactus.

I thought the storyline was amazing, but the ending left a lot of plot holes.

General Discussion / Re: Am I A lucky Bastard?

If you don't learn it yourself nobody will teach you. If I told you not to date her you wouldn't listen anyway and if you did, you would never go through some important lessons. So I just say go for it, do prepare for the worst and never get attached too much - I don't mean you should be shallow or anything, but don't plan your whole life around her!

To answer your initial question: No, you are not a lucky bastard

Quotewhat's the emo fad?

1) Take a goth and what you hate about him
2) Take a hardcore-punk and what you hate about him
3) Put them in a blender, mix well
4) Add some gayness - a giant teaspoon is enough
5) Behold and phear teh Emo Kid

(yes I do realise that not all goths and emos are politically-correct stuff goes here. I don't hate them, I even have friends who more polically correct stuff goes here)
