Oh. I didn't know that... You learn something new every day :P

So, now I say that it's just perfect and it doesn't need anything more to it :=

The feet are still not right, especially in the paint over

They shouldn't close like this:
\   /

They have to open at least a little bit like this:
/    \

I hope that makes sense.

You know where to find pictures of Japanese schoolgirls? on the Internet??
*giggles*

That looks good, may ask what software you used for animating and then rendering?

What I don't like is the arms. They animate well, but they look too.. gay :P

Also, I don't seem to see the feet touching the ground. Try bending the toes where the foot is supposed to step and never have them pass the ground. I can't really explain, so...

\_ <- foot in right direction  -  in left direction -> _/

I hope that makes sense

General Discussion / Re: Midi Sound effects?

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but shouldn't there be any software alternative to Microsoft GS SW synth that would sound more reallistic?
#386
I don't appreciate this.

I do play with the cursor, but I also play with the windows.

For example, I might have a lot of windows and I resize them all and move them in a way so that they'll perfectly touch the other.
Or I might resize two windows so that they have the same dimensions and location, and then I hit alt+tab and behold the magnitude of my success.
Also, I might play with one window to resize it to match the edges of the screen or resize+move it in such a way so that when I maximize it it will stay on the exact same place.

Not my style of music either, but it's quite impressive! Junkie is good but repetitive. Like suggested, a louder chorus would be awesome. S.A.M.F has a nice progression at the end. My Special Place is ok, but I wasn't impressed by it.

That movie rules. Is it supposed to just stop halfway through 'the party' though?
Follow this link instead:

The movie seems to be uploaded twice, Haddas' version ended at the party here too. This link, however, seems to be working well:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4371861494774099087&q=myspace+the+movie

You're not missing anything anyway, the credits start coming shortly after that scene.

Edit: Actually, you are missing the funniest part, it just took me hours to get it though :P
#390
Sounds like something I'd listen to! Don't you have any audio samples somewhere?
#391
It's a nice background, but the sun still just doesn't fit. Never use gradients like that, especially in a background like this. Also, the sky is too dark to have a full sun.
#392
Yeah, I forgot to say "except Zone Alarm" :P Sygate seems great, thanks again!

Grape: Well, if it really couldn't be fixed you could have just formatted your hard drive...

QuoteNow ease off on the porn a little?

Hehe it wasn't pr0n that ruined my pee-sea, it's because I'm Guybrush Threepwood and I'm a mighty pirate :P

I already have Ad-Aware and Spybot and I check them regularly. The problem was the Anti-Virus, I didn't know of a free good one (I hate AVG) and McAffee expired some time ago.

I also have Security Task Manager which allows me to see even camouflaged processes, I quaranteened everything I didn't need and used google to find out what everything is about. So I think as far as processes go I'm safe, would Hijack This! do anything more?

By the way, does anyone know of a good free firewall that has free updates?
#394
Problem seems to be fixed ;D

I installed Anti-Vir and removed my outdated version of Mc Affee (which did cause some slowdown) and found about 5 viruses, heh. I did a few more stuff with different utilities there and there and my computer got a lot faste (but the lockup would still happen) I used RegScrubXP and cleared a lot of stuff (around 160) and also deleted a lot of files I didn't need anymore. The random lock up doesn't happen anymore :=

So glory be to you, Barbarian :D
#395
Nope. I stopped a lot of useless processes from starting, but the problem still exists. All the processes I have now have been running for months before problems appeared anyway :-\
#396
Hey all,

My computer is now officially stupid. Every once in a while it locks up in a very ugly way. Investigating it I found out that the CPU becomes 100% or close. It's like, I might just sit and stare the monitor without any big cpu-consuming programs and see CPU - just magically - fly to 100%

I can't system restore, by the way... I haven't tried, but I don't want to for a lot of different reasons

From all the scans I performed so far, my computer is virus-free and spyware-free. But I don't get it, what is it that causes the slowdown? By observing task manager, System Idle Process is what takes all the CPU. I downloaded Security Task Manager and it doesn't show anything suspicious going on. Neither does it show any process using that much of CPU, yet task manager shows there's a 100% cpu usage.

I'm not really a tech person, but I'm confused as to what might be going on. I last defragmented my drive sometime near the Ice Age, maybe that could be the problem?

Thanks everyone for the feedback! ;D

Geoffkhan: That's something I tried to do, but I decided to be bothered by it after I finished the whole thing (in audio form)

Damien: I tried to make the strings slide to the next note, but it didn't really sound good. I haven't tried making it a bit more complex, though. Good suggestion, I'll give it a shot :). As for fading in, I think it's better this way.

The first solo is generic because I did it on the midi program. The second solo was the first time I wrote whatever I thought sounded good (I was playing the guitar along to find a good solo), all other solos I made so far are done the same way I do my Math homework :p.

Eldkatt: For the vibrato, I just used Guitar Pro's vibrato effect, and I think it's good this way.

I have a pirated, fully functional version of Fruity Loops and I agree that it doesn't satisfy me. I used to think it's the best music program a while ago, but the more I used it the less I liked it. I will check out cubase, though I don't think I'll buy anything that expensive. I spent a lot of money buying other things (music cds, new speakers, guitar equipment, etc) and I need to buy a new soundcard because I'm using a motherboard built-in one.

I also have a very old version of Cakewalk (from year 1993) and an RSE-less version of GP5.

ManicMatt: See above, and below.

Nicolas: If you spend a lot of time working with midis, you are going to like their sound anyway ;). I used to dislike them too, but now I even enjoy them. Thanks for your comments ;D. I'll check out Reaktor too, if they have a demo.

http://www.geocities.com/crosshead777/_untitled33_.mid a small update with bass at the intro.

http://rapidshare.de/files/13127519/untitled2_7.mp3.html a bad mix done in FL, don't bother downloading if you have a slow connection.

The main thing that sounds bad is the guitar, and I can't record it because my timing is awful and my equipment is not good for recording.

It's really great, my critisism is that I don't like the colours. They suit the picture, but it all lacks contrast. You could try darkening the darker colours and lightening the lighter colours.

I think I'm really improving when it comes to composing music.

This is my latest work, it's a song that's meant to go for a competition (yeah I'm aware it doesn't have a chorus part). I'm not sure what style it is, it has a a little bit of Nightwish, some tiny bit Tourniquet (the band) and some pop-rock elements even at the end. This is the first piece I write that I'm more than 90% satisfied with ;D.

It's still midi though, I tried making a high-quality mp3 but I failed miserably. If anyone knows a good (free) way to simulate the electric guitar on the computer please tell me and I'll be really. really grateful. I tried a lot of soundfonts and none of them sounds good enough.

Right Click the link and then Save Target As. It sounds a lot better if you don't let your browser play it.

So, any suggestions, comments, critisism?

Edit: Here's a version with an alternate ending: http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/_untitled32_.mid
It's the same, except that the guitar is more rhythmic at the outro and the pans/volumes and a few minor changes. Which one do you think is better?

That's a nice site and all, but I don't like their database :P. They don't have anything I like, the only couple of bands I already know and like that they do include in their database produce bad results.

However I'll show that to some of my friends who are certainly going to love this it.
