I pretty much agree with Farlander. It's educative, a great replacement for watching TV or something like that but you still shouldn't be using all your free time on it. At least I have sometimes used too much time on graphics or stuff like that when I could've been calling my friends if they're up to anything interesting.

Happy birthday, dude!

You're probably the most mature 16-year-old I've met. Just thought it'd be a good time to remind about that. Rock on. :)

This one's for Kinoko.

I'm unemployed at the moment but I want to be a rockstar. I did apply for an art school kind of thing but didn't get in which kind of surprises me but hopefully I'll get better. Then again, it might not be the thing I want to do for the rest of my life.

Yeah, that sounds like a great experiment. I've done a couple of portrait paintings by just having the picture there as a reference somewhere on the side and get the colors right by myself. You sometimes don't have the same colors really, even though it looks practically the same. Colors are all relative.

That's true, it's a good idea to draw backgrounds from scratch but on the other hand, it's also great practice drawing over other backgrounds. You learn what kind of colors the great artists have used and stuff like that.

Really nice!

When she talks, her lower jaw should be moving more than the rest of her head. In fact, it should be the only thing moving in that sense and the movement of her entire head should be kind just secondary motion. But that's just a "should".

Keep it up, one of the coolest things I've seen made in MSPaint!

Good stuff!

The thing that kind of catches my attention is the skintone. Too little red in my opinion. Looks a bit dead or plastic even though it seems it might not be the intention of this image. I think you could put some red there.

Perhaps some hue variation could liven up the scene also. It's partly a style issue but I think generally it makes anything look better.

Heh, trying to keep it brief. Keep it up!

Yeah, he's running XP. Let me know if you manage to solve the problem!

LilGryphMaster, you can't basically do anything with the computer since it stays up for like 5 minutes at maximum.

My brother has the same thing. He's tried probably all softwares out there to remove the virus but none has actually done it yet. I remember him saying some programs don't even find it even if they claim to be able to.

I really don't know what to do about it. He reformatted the computer and it's still there. Or perhaps the computer got infected again but either way... I don't know if it's Windows updates or the fact that I have a firewall but my computer's all fine. Yeah, that should make you feel better.

I suppose one option would be to format the HD and disconnect from the internet until you get a firewall or something. But it's not an option for everyone.

Check out http://atticwindow.adventuredevelopers.com/index.php .

Good to meet you! I'm not from Greece though. The Greek AGSers haven't been as active as they used to be. I wonder where they've gone...

Peter Thomas, I don't think anything else really matters except whether you like the music or not. I don't understand how it makes the music less enjoyable if it was made for money or for the music. It sounds the same.

This is just a thing I've heard from lots of people and I'm hoping you could explain it. Cause the only reason I see for it right now is that these people don't listen the music for the music but for everything else that is related to it. Like, which genre it is, how commercial band made the music etc.

General Discussion / Re: Graphic Tablet users?

I think the main reason for different tablet sizes is that people have different drawing techniques. Some use  their wrist to move the pen around and some use their shoulder or forearm.

I probably would be better off with a larger sized tablet but they're more expensive so I settled with this. It gets the job done but if I did it 8 hours a day I'd get a bigger one. So, Rave, I suggest you buy the size you want. You'll probably get used to it equally fast or even faster if it's the way you've always drawn - big that is.

I think the problem terranRICH is talking about is that the lines are curved. They'd be pretty much straight in reality only the angle would be changing. Now it's changing but because the walls are so short, they appear pretty curved. I think that might be causing the off-look.

Works pretty well for me though. I would prefer this over a regular 2-dimensional scrolling room, for a change at the least. It would work a lot better if the background was drawn, as Ali mentioned. When drawing it, it would probably be a good idea to make more of those curved lines on the wall for reference so everything would be in perspective, so to say. A grid would probably be the best. With the vertical lines closer to each other in the middle of the wall as it's kind of further away.

I have a Wacom Graphire 2, size A6.

So basically, this would make it look as if the character was walking around a square-shaped building and the camera would circle around the house? I think it would work. If you made some kind of foreground objects pass by every now and then, it might be even more convincing.

I'm not sure if it would look too rigid. That issue could probably be solved with some diagonal views for the character. Might be hard though. Anyway, I could see uses for this technique.

Dude, I love the thick lines! I just think you could use them more consistently. For example, in the Hallway image the doorway is thickly outlined, whereas the doorway in the Locker Room image isn't.

That's all, really.

I'm downloading one of the games right now. 9 megabytes, that's pretty much for a fan game but hopefully it's worth it!

Heh, I think I've used more than hour on some of my long posts. So, not a record yet but thanks for sharing this stuff with us anyway. :)

I will do my best to go. The plane ticket seems pretty cheap and tentatively I don't have anything scheduled to that date. I hope it stays that way.

I was just about to ask the same thing: how the hell do you do it? Every time. Dude!

I've been trying to draw people lately and I can appreciate your work even more than I used to. So smooth and characteristic. Great work!

I think there could be even more saturated colors but that's just me. You know, all warm colors in the teddybear one and stuff like that. But it depends of course what you were after, right now I get a feeling of watching a photoalbum or something. It's all good.

I don't know. I didn't find these specially funny but not that disturbing either. Unfortunately, I've happened to see a lot more gross stuff than this. Not that I'm feeling as strongly about this as Os Ultimo.

Anyway, the reason I'm posting is that I personally think South Park has gotten better all the time. I don't think there's nearly as much toilet humour as there used to be and most shows make good points. I think South Park is just a way of telling something to people in language that they can understand and they have the patience to follow. Well, that's my view.

I've never really seen South Park as toilet humour and I fail to see the juvenile (if you mean immature by it) nature of the show. I think humour is a very intelligent way to get a point through, even though many people fail to see any lessons in the show anyway. I think having fun is too often seen as immature.

Didn't mean to turn this into a debate or anything. I just think South Park is misunderstood in that way.
