VPET 1 and 2 are some of the most fun games ever! They should've been downloaded way more than that! Who's slacking on playing them? I bet it's Unilin or someone else just as insidious!

Why in the world would you need THREE PS2's? When some people don't even have ONE!

Well, the thing is there are more or less two families living in our house. One PS2 is my brother in law's, one is my dad's and one was, until recently, busted and useless. We're big gamers in my family.

if you had sent the warranty card thingamedooda off when you got the ps2 (who ever does?), sony would have fixed it for you... i think.
i got really annoyed with my ps2 giving me disc read errors that i gave it a reason not to work, and now i can't Soul Reaver 2 :(

Yeah, they would've fixed it if I paid them $120. Bastards.

General Discussion / Playstation 2 woes?

Okay, so, we all know I don't start topics all that often. And I must admit this isn't a topic that will launch any interesting debates. But it IS helpful to anyone with the same PS2 problem I had, so don't get pissy!

So here's a story: Once upon a time, we bought a PS2 when it first came out. Life was lovely until one day the PS2 rebelled. "I will not play anymore games for you!", it declared. "Data Read Error! Data Read Error!" So we put it away and bought another one. One who enjoyed playing games for us. We eventually bought another one, as a companion to the new one, so that they could play happy games together.

But all was not well in Playstation Land. The first little PS2 sat, collecting dust like some long forgotten relic, for months and months. Until one day the hero of our story, Pete (that is, me), said "Gee golly whiz, that poor PS2. I want to make it happy!" and so she got on the internet and searched, finding places that would repair it for a lot of money. "This is not what I want, but I will resort to it if I must..." And then suddenly, like a gift from Cthulu, a link appeared!

http://www.tweak3d.net/articles/ps2repair/

Pete was so happy to see that SHE could fix the sad PS2 all by herself! So she followed the step by step instructions and smash bang! The PS2 was fixed!
"I will play your games for you! Gladly!" And Pete and the PS2 lived happily ever after.

The end.

If this story sounds at all familiar, don't fret! This website helped me, and it will help you too!

I insist that both Pesty and Farlander come. If not, I will make an official complaint.

It's still not impossible for me to go and I'm trying my hardest to get out there. Here's hoping I somehow get the money for the ticket!

If I end up going, I'll be in the same situation as Andail and Remo, because there's no way in hell I'm flying directly to Albany.

There's a good chance I won't be able to go, much to my chagrin. I still say all of us Southwest people should have our own. It will be called Scarves.

The Golden Compass!? Is that the Americanised version of the Title of that book? Though, I suppose it's keeping in line with the titles of all the books in the series... but The Golden Compass just sounds a little silly to me...Ã,  :P (It's called, 'Northern Lights' here, by the way).

Last book I read, and I've been slack,Ã,  but I just read Fahrenheit 451.

Yes, 'Northern Lights' makes more sense, story wise. But the title goes along with the other titles, so I never questioned it.

at least that's what the site said... very sad... and to think people can have the audacity to make FUN of it...

Are you surprised? People (I don't mean everyone. Just the general populace) are jerkies. They'll make fun of anything they have the opportunity to make fun of, no matter how undeserving it is.

If by lately, you mean 'at least in the past 10 years', then here's a list:

The 'His Dark Materials' Trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass) by Phillip Pullman. A great trilogy I suggest to anyone who liked Harry Potter, but wanted a little more substance.

The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews (yes, that Julie Andrews). I had been searching for this book for over a decade, having had it read to me when I was in elementary school. I'm re-reading it now and it's just as great as it was when I first heard it.

Any book by Piers Anthony. I have every single Xanth book, as well as all the books in his Mode series and his Adept series. He's such a great writer.

Callahan's Crosstime Saloon series by Spider Robinson. You might've played the game based on this series, and if you liked that, you'll love the books.

Anything by Tom Holt. Most of his books are out of print, but if you're lucky, you might be able to find some of them. I have yet to find a bad book by him.

If Chins Could Kill by Bruce Campbell. Best autobiography ever.

The Myth series by Robert Aspirin. I enjoyed the ones I've read a lot. Kind of a mix of sci fi and fantasy. It's cool.

That's all I can think of right now. I insist that everyone read them all.

Man, I shouldn't have looked it up! It was so sad, it made me cry. No child should be born like that and no parent should have to experience their child being born like that.

From the perspective of science, it's an interesting affliction. I didn't read much about it, because I was too busy crying about it. Do they have any ideas of what causes it?

Beware Remo! That is not a crane!

Tim is reenacting that one scene from Wrath of Khan where Khan puts bugs in those dudes' ears!

Can I have your diesel sweeties shirt when the paper earwig eats your brain?

Pete, stop lying to the people.  You're not awesome at all.  You're just jealous that Yufster is getting all of Mods's attention instead of you.

Cha! As if!

- I don't talk constantly of Yufster in #ags
- I don't post threads specifically about Yufster
- I don't constantly transfer the blame to someone else
- I don't generally have an obsession with Yufster, apart from appreciating her as a game designer

Yet all four seem to apply to you.

- I constantly talk about porn in #ags... :P
- I don't post threads about her, other people do and I post in them because they always tend to be bloody hilarious. Shes always upset by some miniscule thing... :P
- Odd, you seem to be tranferreing the blame to me... hmmm... :P
- You generally don't? Hmmm... ;D

Seems like none of them apply to me either... nice one m0ds. ::)

Fellows, fellows! Stop this nonsense! I think we can all agree that nobody cares and I'm totally awesome.

Also, on a side note, why were you wearing that cloak, Pesty? You look like Death.........

Well, that was back when my head was disproportionately large, see. I heard black was slimming and tried to use that to make it look normal. It didn't work, but I obviously didn't mind too much. I mean, I was hanging out with Bill and Ted. Look at how cheerful I am!
