It's great, apart from the huge eyes. Makes her look like an anime character... It still looks great, but it's doesn't suit the QfG style with those eyes.

Yeah, I have a habit of drawing the eyes large. I guess it's part of my style or something. I dunno, I've tried drawing eyes smaller, but it always looks funny to me.

I think it looks totally awesome, Corby! Great job on the hair. I bet it would've been easier to color if I hadn't shaded it, so sorry about that. But you did a great job with what I gave you!

WOW! It's perfect! Do you mind if I color it? Yay! Something fun to do tonight! Thanks! You got the clothing perfect! The face has a great style to it as well!

Color away, my friend! It's all yours to use. I'm very glad you like it. I drew the dress from memory and I'm surprised at how much I remembered. So yay!

Here's a quick, 20 minute sketch I did while waiting for the bus. Things have been a bit busy lately, so I'll do a better one later, but at least you can get an idea of my style and stuff.

Here's my advice. Calamine lotion is God's gift to the bad skinned. I don't know if you can use it with scabies (there are some skin conditions that I think calamine actually makes worse. It'd be best to ask a pharmacist or read on the packaging first), but I do know it's nice and soothing to use. Another thing that is good is cortizone cream. Not the ointment, that's icky sticky. Cortizone cream on the sores really makes the itch cool off some. And if you live anywhere near dairy farms, there's this stuff called Bag Balm that is used to sooth chapped cow udders and it's really nice too.

The calamine lotion is probably your best bet for a night of sleep, though. It saved my sanity when I had chicken pox. The other suggestions are more to heal the sores.

Oh man, you guys! You make judging these things so hard!! Seriously, dudes, some great entries. I love cpage's and Gil's and Ali's and Inkoddi's, but I think the super overall winner has just gotta be Dragonrose's Force Shield.

It brought great joy to my heart and my mind and maybe a few of my skin cells to see that she broke out of the conformity to defeat the jerky jocks and win the ski championship so she could save the orphanage from being demolished and turned into a mall. Oh, and also making it more original and taking advantage of the open rules.

But seriously, great super great entries everyone. I love that I get such great entries in my sprite jams, even though that makes it hard to judge.

I was bored, so I thought I'd save this thread from the terrible third page to inform everyone who has not noticed that I changed my avatar to my greatest creation since AGS.

The giant insectoid did not cause the clean burning fire that is destroying the red light district of Cake City, but everyone will probably blame it on him because he is a giant insectoid and they are truly the scapegoats of the world. The picture's title is "An International Incident: If I Knew You Were Coming I'd Have Baked a Cake of DOOM".

I need to draw more pictures of the giant insectoid. And also give him a good name. I'm thinking to name him "Bruce".

Kat is a great character. I'm glad to see a QFG fan game starring someone other than the hero. I'll see if I can sketch you a picture or two, too.

That's nothing. My sims neighborhood features the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They do not have a fridge, so they only eat pizza (of course).

I tried making their home look like a sewer, but I had a hard time, so I just gave them a really awesome house.

And Pestilence: The reason you'd get funny looks is because "Asian American" indicates that your descendants were of Asian descent.  You would just have been born to presumably European people in Asia, that's different.  You could still have, say, dual Japanese-American citizenship and if anyone would give you funny looks you could just explain it in about one sentence, or not bother.  I don't see how that has anything to do with the African Americans discussion.  It's not as if any white people are EVER going to move to Africa and have babies, I can guarantee you that.  South Africa is different and people from there call themselves "South African."

I mean, it sounds like people here are just trying to erase racial terms like "African American" and then criticizing the "master/slave" argument for doing the same thing.  I'm doing arguing master/slave because it looks like the thread has shifted, but why does ANYONE think that not calling people "African American" would help anything?  I sure can't imagine what good it would do.

How do you know that "It's not as if any white people are EVER going to move to Africa and have babies"? There was a good chance that I was going to be born in Africa, because my mom was going to get a job there while she was pregnant with me. I would have been a citizen of Africa. There is more to Africa than the places you see on those Christian's Children Fund commericals.

The reason what I said has to do with the conversation is that there's a dichotomy. Why is it okay for someone who's of African descent to be called an 'African American' if they've never lived in Africa, but not okay to call someone who was born and raised in Africa and then moved to the US an 'African American'?

What DM says kinda reminds me of something my sister had mentioned a few weeks ago. It was something along the lines of "Let's say I was born and raised in China or Japan, and then later in life moved to the US. I was born in Asia, but if I went around calling myself an Asian or an Asian American, people would give me looks and tell me I wasn't because I don't look the part. Same with if I were born in Africa. But what else would I call myself? If I didn't move to the US I would still be an Asian or an African, even if I was white."

I think she has a really good point. That's one of the reasons I don't like labels like 'African American'.

General Discussion / Re:Down With Skirts!
Sat 29/11/2003 11:45:40
I like school uniforms (then again, I never had to wear them, but I always liked the idea) and I like skirts, but forcing girls to wear skirts instead of giving them an option of wearing pants, at least in winter, is zany insaney. There are schools that do give girls both. It only makes sense.

The excuses your principal gave you are nonsense. I, for example, look just faboo in trousers. You can use me as an example. Cite me as being "the coolest person ever".

And if the coolest person ever advocates girls wearing pants while also looking good in pants, then how can anyone deny that?

I own all of the expansion packs except Makin' Magic and Vacation. I haven't played in a while, but I do enjoy playing. I like making my own skins for them.

For a very long time my desktop featured Raphael (from TMNT, of course), but I changed it to this to inspire me on my current game.

You also get to sneak a peek into my wonderful mp3 collection. Any more would be an overdose of awesomeness for you.

What you can do is select the pink box, then go up to the Selections drop down. Then go down to Invert, which will select everything but the pink box.

Edit: Also, if the pink is in more spots than what you can just select with one click of the magic wand, you can go up to Selection>Modify>Select Similar, which will pick up all the pink in the picture.

I'm bad at explaining things, but I hope I could help.

A is undergoing some major changes. Sylpher is making it easier to update for everyone who writes for it, which totally rocks.

It's not dead, it's just like a caterpillar! Soon it will come out of it's cocoon, a beautiful butterfly for all to love and worship!

Does "require" in:
QuoteI require 31 colors to feed my insatiable hunger for colors!
means that pics < 31 colours would be disqualified? Should transparent colour be coutned as one colour?

Darn you, Gil! Finding holes in my rules! Yes, less than 31 colors is allowed. No, a transparent color will not be counted.

Oh man, I keep winning these things. I'm sorry I rock so hard, everyone else.

So, last time I did swords and everyone and their mother entered. Which totally rocks. So why break away from something that works, I say! This week's topic is Shields!

Size wise, I'll say they should be...75 x 100 or less, if you want. I require 31 colors to feed my insatiable hunger for colors!

Make them rock awesome, everyone. The more original, the closer to winning you will get.
