I just read "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeline L'Engle last week, but since mid-March I've also read "The Stranger" by Camus, "The Little Prince" by some French author I won't begin to try and name, and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire."  Quite a variety there, wouldn't you say?

"The Little Prince" was written by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry.

Harry Potter books are very good indeed. Never read A Wrinkle in Time, but I've wanted to since I was very young and I saw my sister reading it.

I'm rereading the Xanth series, by Piers Anthony. I started at the end of January and I'm already on Swell Foop, which is #25 in the series. After this, I'll probably reread his Adept series, or maybe Spider Robinson's Callahan series again.

Eric: You too? I always think the dog wears a hat.. And cant get mine mind off it...

I always think it's a squirrel wearing a hat, but that's just becasue I'm crazy. Only yesterday did I realize it was a hatless dog.

I delcare my Matthew Lesko avatar the greatest of all avatars!

Although the one I have now comes pleasantly close to perfection. What with me being a drooling zombie and all.

General Discussion / Re:Need Mucho Flash Help

I wrote a reply but it didn't say anything! Darn it.  Anyway, I had said yes, that was basically what I need and that while I would upload my game to show what I mean, but it's sad and pathetic and embarrassingly bad, even though I got an A on it. And that I thank you very mucha.

I have a Jam Studio tablet that I got in a similar fashion. Unless they have updated the drivers recently, it doesn't work with XP. Otherwise, it's not too bad. I've found it's easier to work with a mouse, but you might have a better time with it.

General Discussion / Need Mucho Flash Help
Tue 29/04/2003 23:39:33
I didn't know which forum to put this in, but this one made the most sense so rah.

Anyway, I need a bit of help with Flash. What I would like to do is to make a button play a movie clip once when clicked and released. As far as I and everyone else I've asked, this isn't possible, but it must be because it'd be stupid if it wasn't. The best I could get is a button to play a movie clip over and over again if you hold down the button and that's probably really irritating to my game players, so any help (before next tuesday, which is when I need my game done) would be greatly appreciated and would earn a name in my credits, right next to Mr. Tom Jones himself!

and what kind of name is Ohio?

Maybe it was the name of the mad scientist's dog.

I forgot to praise this masterpiece of brilliancy. Then again, there isn't anything I could say that hasn't been said, so I'll just shut the hell up.

Yay for Eric.

If I were a zombie (and not just a zombie activist), I would wander around chanting "Waaaaaambuuuus". Definately a unique and very fun little game and I look forward for it to be continued (which it will be because I said so). Best music ever. Nice and calm and I could listen to it all day.

I always liked playmobiles.

For the second year in a row, Pestilence will be replaced by her imaginary, beer drinking bean donkey, Senor Pinto Burro. I know you all enjoyed his imaginary presence there last year at Mittens.

And please refrain from having sex with my imaginary donkey. He's underaged and is easily lured into tents with beer.

Wow Pestilence, i didn't think anyone would find that. I've found, that that bug doesn't happen all the time, i was trying to track down the source of it. I can't get it to happen consistently, and because you don't need it to complete the game, i left it in. I may go back and look at it, but if it causes trouble, just leave it.

Again i must say, i really appreciate all the feedback, and all the people enjoying the game. I've really gotta start the second part.

Just having a break at the moment, playing some AGS games. Finishing Unreal 2, and Quest for Glory V (i've never played it until now!)

I have a habit of talking to inanimate objects and I liked getting a result other than "I don't think it will respond". I wanted to know what happened when I got the answer right, but then it yelled at me and threw me out, as if I were it's spouse and I had cheated on it.

I haven't won it yet, but I'd like to point out a bug for ya.

Spoiler
When you talk to the picture and you get the right answer, there's a fatal exception that boots you outta the game. I can pm you all of the details it said when it had the error if you wish, but it takes place in "room 6, script line 506" if that helps you any.

Great game so far. Very fun and clever.

Sweet, thanks, I'll pass on your comments to Misja. BTW, even he doesn't know how he manages to produce them so fast!

Plus, I think he does them as originals - he sketches them and then just magics them up. Of course, he had something to work from for Indy's office and the exterior of Barnett College (which you'll notice is at a different angle so that you don't just think he ripped it!).

Amberle - the fact your name is on the start credits makes it 10 x cooler :p

:)
m0ds

Maybe I'll trick my sister into playing it with me (using the trickery I used when I got her to play FOA with me except with more trickery because now she has a kid and she's lazy/busy when the kid's asleep) and then when the credits come up she'll be all "What the hell is your name doing in the credits of this fabulous game?" and I can say "Why, I am very important aren't I!".

I doubt it'd go like that, though. I don't think I've ever heard my sister call anything fabulous when she's not making fun of Christopher Lowell. But it'd still be fun.

Hola tola. I come here for helpness. I have to say that I can do most everything myself (or will figure out how to), but I need a little help here and there with certain things that I'm not as good at.

First of all, music. I have no way of making my own music and would appreciate any help I can get with either having music made or making my own.

The second thing is animations. Now, this is sad that I have to ask for help with animation, but I do. Because, seriously, d00dz, I've found out that I suck at stuff like walking animations.

The last thing is background art. Now, I can do a lot of this my own, especially now that I have Flash (which I work better with than PSP), but I can always use more help with backgrounds. Any help is appreciated if it can be spared, but I really don't desperately need it. I just thought I'd post this if anyone was bored and needed something to waste time on. My email is in my profile, but I'll put it here too. pestilence@zombieworld.com.

Yo yo, peace out. Yo.

Yay! I've been looking forward to FOY since I first heard about it. Then I was all sad when development stopped. But now I'm happy again!

If you ever need an archaeology consultant or an extra artist, I'm always here to help. ;)

On a side note, this is the first time I've ever used a smiley in this forum. Today is a historical day!

I'm a grumpy hermit. It's a surprise I don't live in a cave and throw rocks at tresspassers. I could be considered shy, but it's more that I have a hard time talking due to my brain thinking faster than my mouth can work, which gives me my "Crazy, Old, Evil Guy" stutter. And I also don't like idle conversations like "How about that weather?" or "God help me, I'm trapped under this elephant!", so I don't talk unless the conversations is interesting and/or important. I also like to use metaphors and similies more than most people, which makes people think I'm insane. Which, of course, I am. I also worry too damn much and I have gemen's problem of the restless mind.

If all rappers made
Gangsta' Haikus, I would like
L.L. Cool J.

If all rappers were
zombies, then I would listen
to Eminem more.

When people make fun
Of Mister Colossal, my
Teach says "That poor girl."

My animation
Teacher thinks that Eric is
A girl. Ha ha ha.

Edit:

I forgot the word
"Teacher". Silly me. Without
it, it didn't make sense.

Small frogs in a pond
Is often the main subject
Of several hai-ku.

Why the Japanese
Are so very obsessed with
Them is beyond me.

Personally, I
Enjoy hai-kus starring the
Less wet animals.

Like bunnies and deer
Or perhaps some sort of bird
Like a fat chicken.

Fat chicken in a
Pot, simmers until very hot.
Then we can eat it.

Delicious chicken
Now to cook and eat the eggs.
What a bird-filled meal!

Yes, because I'm so very, very evil. I was actually going to replace the entire quote with "a bazillion bands that aren't GWAR", but I forgot. I'm not going to bother editing it because, as previously stated, I'm evil.
