I finished it! If I work as much with my other games they would be finished in no time ::)

Download game! | Download hint-file! (you need AGS Hint System to be able to view this hint-file, download it http://ahs.shorturl.com)

Screenshot:

This game has:
- 320x240 backgrounds
- some silly animations
- about 13 rooms
- midi soundtrack
- some weird soundeffects
- stupid plot ;D
- puzzles
- and so on

If I would have polished music, graphics and animations this game wouldn't have finished yet... so it is what it is. Hope you like it though.

General Discussion / Puzzle Adventures

I remember reading these books (Puzzle adventures & Ghost puzzle adventures) when I was kid and today I actually found them in library. Has anyone read these? Some stories are pretty good (The Vanishing Village) and there's also really hard puzzles included.

Incase you are not familiar with these I'll tell what's the main idea. There's a story and you should turn the page only after you have solved the puzzle on the previous page. You get hints how to solve them reading carefully and looking the pictures of story.

I've been thinking maybe some of these stories could make good adventuregames... ::)

Well, Ghormak had no time to host this competition so he asked me to host it. Anyway, I have something in my mind...

Make a remix of some tune which is played in some AGS-game. You must use some different theme than in original tune.
Examples: medieval version of Pleurghburg's main theme, Larry Vales in space-theme etc.

Hope you get the idea. Happy composing! :)

Story
Somewhere in the near future, a cargo ship goes missing. The owner of the ship, Augustus Goldhandle, wants to find out what happened. Looks like a job for a private investigator, right?

Well, apparently something goes wrong, and soon just an ordinary guy, called Mike Night, finds himself looking for the lost cargo ship, in the tourist trap of Pearl Island. At first it looks like a piece of cake, but eventually Mike realises that it probably wasn't such a bright idea pretend being a private investigator.

Screenies

Inventory GUI show-off & cozy cottage.

Familiar looking band(?) & bookstore by the cliff ("Wouldn't you like to sit on that bench?" -Helm).

Updates:
***25th of September - The post-Mittens update***
Holy crap, it's been a while. I had to redo the whole thread, as there was some old information in there. And I thought I'd update you with progress, as I need your opinions.

First of all, the project is going rather slow, for now. I've got other things to finish first. But I'll hope to have those things finished before the end of the year.

Second, Goldlagoon was shown and told at Mittens. I got good comments on it from various people and I've got some ideas. Now let's see...

At Mittens, I had a chat with m0ds, regarding Goldlagoon. I mentioned most of the graphics being finished for the first "part" of the game, and m0ds asked if I was going to release Goldlagoon in parts. Even if that wasn't my intention at first, it made me think. Lately, I've been thinking about releasing Goldlagoon in five or six short episodes. That way I could get stuff out instead of people having to wait for years to get to play the full game. And I want to get people to play this game some time, you know.

Another thing, voice acting. At first I was thinking of including full voice speech. But that would require hell lot of work, and many people would turn it off anyways. So instead, I'm thinking about including voice acting to the main cutscenes only. You see, I once made a small demo to show off at Brittens 2004, and I wanted to include voice acting. So the demo had voice acting, and there's especially one part that sounds about 100 times better with voice acting, than without it. So, cutscenes will have voice acting.

Righto, that should be all for now. I hope I didn't forget anything important, as I kind of rushed with this thing. Now people, tell me what you think. Especially, tell me what you think about releasing the game in episodes. Just, write something and make me happy.

Thankees
Chrille, loominous, Helm, custard, Al_Ninio, strazer, Geoffkhan, Mikko, Neole, Azure, m0ds, eVOLVE, Grundislav, Rui, Mr. Hyde, Vel. If I forgot someone and they know I did, slap me with a adorable kitten.

I made christmas present to my friends and decided to share with you also. The game was finished 23rd december, but I just finished translation, so it is bit late... ;) Game is pretty short and 640x400, 256 col.!!

Download: http://yks_kaks.tripod.com/englishxmas.zip (right click, save target as)

Ok, so I'm not sure does the link works, but let's hope it works. Atleast it works when using Download Accelerator...

By the way, this is my first compeleted game. Winter Night is almost ready, all I need to do is add music (I haven't received all tunes yet) and translate it to 'good english' ;)

This is a story about two kids, Sam and Lucas. One night they meet each other and goes in the search for mysterious magic box. Now it's up to you to find this box, but be careful; box is not so harmless as it looks...

***UPDATE 19th April 2003***
I noticed there were too many stars in the title screen so I took couple of them off... check updated title screen below. Here's a new screenshot:

:)

***UPDATE 18th April 2003***
Hey, game has been in development over six months now and it's very long time for such a small game as this. I could have released this couple of months ago, but I haven't got all the tunes I need. And it's a good thing: I started remaking backgrounds and they sure looks better than the old ones. Just check out this new title screen:

And here's the old one:

See the difference? ;)

***UPDATE 5th January 2003***
So, it's almost finished! I haven't been working with this for a while, because all it needs are translation and music (I only have main theme). But I think I get this finished at the end of January or faster, if m0ds has made those tunes and my translator is not lazy ;) Game is betatested and I heard that it's pretty hard... but if someone is waiting this... just be patient :)
