Fallout 2. Hands down most favourite game of mine EVAR.

I love you, voh.

(yes, I'm playing Fallout 2 now as well, have to complete this game at least once a year!)

We should! I've added you to my MSN contacts, so don't ignore me when you get the add request!

Me and Inkoddi tried to play Kungfu on some emulator long time ago and it seemed to work well, though it was very laggy. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the emulator! But it indeed is possible and I'd like to try it again some time.

I guess I've become a lurker.

Hello.

Mine is a horrible mess.

Inside the AGS folder I have a separate folder for each project and inside each project folder I have own folders for backgrounds, sprites etc.

Pay no attention to all the top secret project files and folders in my screenshot! :o

General Discussion / Re: Summer Festivals

I'd love to to go Download for Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe and Megadeth, but alas, I can't afford it. Instead I'll probably just attend a bunch of Finnish festivals. Megadeth and Heaven And Hell are coming to play HERE in Tampere, and W.A.S.P. will be playing in Helsinki. And a bunch of great Finnish bands, of course. I'd be mad to miss those, but then again it's very expensive and I'm just a poor student. We'll see, I WILL attend at least on festival this summer. There are quite a few to choose from, summer festivals are a huge thing in Finland.

I'm going to My Coke Fest in May with Guns 'n Roses

I bet Axl storms off the stage after two songs or fails to turn up at all. Or then he just jumps into the crowd and starts beating up his own fans.

I just finished playing this one. Overall I quite liked it.

I found the story interesting, but then again I'm a horror freak so. But stretching the storyline going over centuries worked fine in my opinion. The gray scale flashbacks were a great idea!

The parser worked fine in my opinion, but that's because I quite like parsers WHEN THEY ARE WELL DESIGNED. I think there were a couple of parts where the parser could have been implemented better, like KICK TALL MAN not working, had to use KICK DEMON instead. That's just stupid, don't know if it was intentional or not. Probably not.

Tall Man is one of the coolest horror characters ever, up in the same group with Freddy Krueger, Djinn, Pinhead etc.

I liked the music, but I thought some of the tunes didn't really fit. Some of them were just too cheery (like the introduction music, IIRC) and didn't really create the Yahtzee atmosphere (TM) I was expecting. Some tracks, on the other hand, worked very well. And of course I would have recognized the composer immediately if I didn't know who it was. I could recognize your style miles away, m0ds. :P

I didn't like the final puzzle. It made sense and it was even hinted what you'd have to do (I actually considered that solution about halfway through the cut scene before the puzzle) but... somehow it just felt plain stupid! Looking back now, what else you could have possibly done in that situation though? Maybe it's just the aftermath that doesn't really make any sense. Go figure.

I quite liked the graphics, lots of detail and simple yet very effective style. Lots of animation, I love. The stairwell room was quite annoying though, it looked very bland and walking up-/downwards was very slow. Also, the hotel exterior scenes were a bit boring and bland. I can understand someone not wanting to spend too much time on something that isn't important story wise, though.

I believe I had something else on my heart but... I can't remember what it was. But I enjoyed experiencing the story and am looking forward to playing the final chapter in the quadrilogy. Over and out.

My first AGS game took about 2 weeks to make, I had to get it done by Christmas and I remember the panic few days before Christmas. The remake of that game took about a month. The two MAGS games I've made were made in two - three weeks.

And the several longer projects have gone Run Hot ages ago. If only I could keep on working on my longer projects on the same pace as when creating those short games!

Sorry Darren, but I'm afraid I can't come after all, even though I promised. I just simply can't afford that much money right now, not in few of years actually. I will be getting a summer job, but I will spend that money on other things. So I'm out.

Just for the reference, norse gods are very closely connected to nationalist (often extremist) groups in scandinavia today. Sadly. If you would have a poster or a t-shirt with Tor, Oden or Balder on it, you'd be branded a racist immediately.

I don't think this applies to Finland (but then again, Finland doesn't belong to Scandinavia). At least I find it hard to imagine that someone would think I'm a racist if I went about wearing a Norse mythology shirt. I have heard, however, that Finland shirts have been banned in some schools because they are thought to be racists. I don't know if it's true but if it is, it's super stupid. But so are people.

The Legend of Leitor's Edge - if anyone remembers that game, that is :P

Oh, you bet I do.

Lots of stuff is missing, because I can't remember every single small detail.

- Decided to make the best adventure game ever.
- Realized that it's not going to happen, so started studying good game design, and eventually became better, I think.
- Learned a lot about graphics designing, eventually got a lot better at that.
- Decided to get better at composing, thanks to m0ds and Trapezoid's midis.
- Entered the first ever team challenge, eventually became the leader of the project, kinda.
- Hurt my knee in a sledding accident.
- Promised to make a soundtrack for a certain AGS game. This lead into more and more people asking me to make music for them. Someone even called me "m0ds2" once. Was one of the known music makers in the AGS community for a while.
- Assured my parents that it's actually okay to travel aboard and meet some strangers from the internet. Visited the UK.
- Released some horrible horrible games, but also learned what not to do again.
- Got fine grades at art, thanks to AGS.
- Got fine grades at English, thanks to AGS.
- Got a driving licence.
- Finished high school.
- Applied to an art and media school, but didn't get in.
- Had a neat temporary job, got paid for designing business cards and other stuff, composing music and editing video.
- Wasted 6 months in the army, total waste of time.
- Went to Greece.
- Got a job at local newspaper. Made lots of money and fell in love with photography.
- Switched guitar to bass, but not because of frustration.
- Started a music project that never got finished.
- Was mistaken for a girl.
- Applied to another art media school, and got in.
- Was called a hippie for the first time.
- Had the most hectic summer ever: met a special girl, spent a week at countryside with AGSers, had to do lots of stuff for school (stressing), lost a relative, moved out, lost another relative two days before starting studies, started studies, went to Spain to meet AGSers two days after starting my studies.
- Pretty much gave up game making because of lack of time.
- Had and still keep having amazing time in my new school.
- Was called a stoner and Jimi Hendrix by some drunk skinheads.
- Survived a snow storm while the whole city was in a chaos.

I used to be much more geeky back in the days and looking back now it feels like not much happened those days. I have definately changed from those days.

Full Throttle is one of my favourite Lucas Arts games.

My school shouldn't start THAT early next year, but around early September at its latest, so late June - July - early August should be fine with me. Of course, I might get a job for summer or I might be too poor to go, but count me still in as a maybee. Seeing that so many europeans have expressed interest, it might be a good idea to look into the prices of the flights and see when they are cheapest. However, I doubt any flight company has any flights up for the next summer this early.

Hello.

I apologise for not being on the forums after Mittens, but I noticed you're planning Mittens and I thought I'd pop in to say hello. I'm definately interested in going, I've always wanted to go to Canada. Everything sounds good so far and I actually promised Darren I'd go... we'll see how my money situation is next summer, at the moment pretty much all of my income goes to my living so it's hard to try to save when there's so little extra money. But I'm definately interested.
