i know... but when you think of my game for example, it has 12 rooms so far, and already it is 35 meg. I dont want people to download a 200 meg game or watever. i want a managable 12 meg game which is downloadable.

thats kinda what i meant.

im liking the style on the bottom screenshot. its not often you see a room from an interesting perspective like that.

actually id like to ask a wee question here... does runign a game at 320x200 take up less space? cos ive been doing a game in 640x400 and im realising the size of the file (another reason for 320x200( and iw as wondering if there was anyways ot lower the graphics so its able to be given out of the internet...

Hi, i've been doing a lot of cutscenes and in the version of flash i have you cannot export to mpeg. AVI's are massive, so i dont want to use them for a 640 x 400 game...
i found one convertor, but it displays "Converted with etc.." in the top left hand corner. Anyone got a good program they could reccomend cos ive worked pretty ahrd doing all these cutscnes for my game...

yeh... i play guitar bas etc...
if you want a midi, thats real easy, but i could also record you the music as mp3. whaterv. plus, pink floyd are rather grand....

this was the problem... originally he was going to be just that. i thought being able to find pieces of a machine and various ages would be cool, so i started to animate. porblem was my mate (hairy bar-steward!) who asnt to keen... i was kinda pleased with him so i left him... he is a sheep rustler, so he is likely to where cheap clothes, and not fancy linen, hence the bland colours. as for the flares, i like flares. they are comfy and show of your legs just fine

maybe you could sort out the legs... its going to be hard to aniamte walking from that stance

yeh.. the water is dodgy cos im still fiddlin... thanks and yeh... people call me rentboy... damn trainspotting! good film tho...


for the water i tried making it transparent but it still looked kinda stupid. mixing greens whites and blues is ok, ill post a shot later. maenwhile, can you guys check out my music: its supposed to be kinda reggae,

so for example, midid track 1 finishes, make it go onto track 2 instead of repeating track 2

anyone know how to draw water well... I cant get my fountain to look good, and i think it spoils the rest of the pic.

man, that does sound most inorexicaly splangeriffic! this kinda thing must get started again, cos i like the sound of it, takes the other jobs off you so you can concentrate onyour feild of expertise. id love to do animtion /. bg art or voices.

yeh.. i sorta see the eye thingy. Ive just always drawn my characters liket hat. dunno why. It is our first game so I hope i will finish it. good news is college finished so mroe time for stuff like this.

and i love the name Ivan!

Still not found a proper name for the game, but these screenshots and the story are burning a rather smoky hole in my already thredbare pocket. The main story revolves around a hopeless sheep rustler name of Joe. (I need a more medievil name...) When he escapes from jail after a bungled job, he founds his smaller brother has been kidnapped by a bunch of French pirates! I dont want to give to much away (as theat synopsis is about 15 rooms already) but I'm planning it with my mate Stu, (for a uni portfolio) and it should be rather large. I'm not gonna compare it with anything, but the screenshots are coming along (cept the water - anyone know how to get sexy looking water?) and it will hopefully by humerous. The puzzles are all done, some of the scripting and most of the artwork. it will also have fully animated intros, outros and cutsences. Don't be too harsh, but id love feedback ont he screenshots and / or help with a good gui.

There is a lot of work, but as I write music, expect a proper reggae mp3 score!

-EDIT 20th July- Going on holiday for a wee while now college is over... iw ill be doing background art but thats it. (Italy sure is great for nice looking hill towns!)

The first act (of 5) will be released as a demo soon aftyer i get back, as it just needs a few tweaks. Probly by end of september.

I mean like Mpeg. Anyone got ideas for scripting, cos ive worked quite hard on some nice cutsenes and want to use them...
