Well.... it isn't comedy like I said it would be, but I really do like this motif.

The link is:

http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/Dark_of_Night.mid

It's only midi (duh?), and while it sounds cool on my computer, it sounds really bad on my friend's. So, I just hope it sounds okay for you.

I've tried to create a really melancholy mood, because I discovered that if I did it 'serious' then it just sounded corny, and if I did it 'comedy', it sounded stupid. This, at least, gives a strange, eerie atmosphere without trying to be too dramatic.

Enjoy!

No-one's actually come up with any really 'controversial' stuff yet. Sure, there's whacked out stuff (like the flag, which might I add, looks loverrrly on those two girls), but some Christian radicals are like that. Most of the stuff being pointed out is common knowledge among christians (ie - incest with Cain etc) and because ordinary people don't know it, they think it's proof of a mentally unstable micro-society.

Not to say that I'm DEFENDING the site at all, but there are NO clear signals that it's a parody. Again, I'm not denying the possibility, but until someone actually says something DEFINITIVELY evil/anti-christian/just-plain-freakishly-non-normal, then I'm going to be a stick in the mud.  :D

Plus, those girls 'wearing' the american flag told me to say all that....

*wishes he was American* Damn it! Why can't I live there?

I don't think you need be 'wary' of programs like Sibelius/Finale, as loominus suggests, although they DO cost a lot of money, so skip em unless you're serious. In terms of notation, however, I think Sibelius is the easiest programs to use in the world! Seriously! Anyone with even a basic understanding of c major scale can whip up cool stuff. And, because it's for midi purposes, you don't actually have to worry about what the notes look like on the page: just what they sound like.

SoundClub, as Increator said, is another very cool little prog, and worth the 5 minute download

I, personally, reckon they're the real deal.

Extreme, most certainly. But genuine. Sure, there's a whole load of stuff on their that's a bit strange, but, as a Christian, I don't believe there's anything UNUSALLY out of the ordinary. By that, I mean nothing that causes major arguments between Christians.... unless I've missed a couple of pages.

I think the "Jesus and Pirate" picture Colossal posted was a bit odd. The writing in the speech bubble doesn't match the quality of the drawing itself. Looks iffy to me, but still quite funny. As for the 'w.t.f ministries'........... I'm a christian who shouldn't find that funny, but OH MY GOSH!!! What a laugh!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry, I really had to get that off my chest. That's the funniest thing I've seen all week. They really must be living under a rock if they don't see the link. Or else they're doing it because it's a parody site. But I don't think so. There's just so much they COULD be doing if they were seriously doing a parody, and they've just stuck to minimal stuff, that doesn't really offend anyone (unless your Haabab(sp?) the elephant, in which case you'd be really pissed off....).

But thanks for posting anyway. It made my day..... :D

There are one or two 'trial' programs out there on the net. I can't name 'em off hand because I haven't used them in so long, but I probably wouldn't bother with them unless you are 100% determined not to spend a dollar. I imagine google could throw them at you.

But, I assure you, they will frustrate the hell out of you. They never do what you want, and they're just plain HARD to use.

If you're after a REAL investment, go for sibelius. That's what I use, but you have to be really serious about music to go that far (I've spent probably $1600 on it so far). Cheaper programs (about $15, maybe?) are things like Music Works Personal, which do everything you want, but are harder to learn.

Well, I can see that 2 out of 3 paragraphs have been dedicated to anything BUT answering your question, so I'll shut up.

Good luck with your searching....

Edit: Other sibelius-ish programs like Cubase and Finale 2000 are also good. But I don't promote them because I'm a die-hard for Sibelius.

Yeah, I had the same problem happen on my computer 'bout a week ago, now. I rebooted it like 4 times to see if it would just fix itself, and it didn't, so I just gave up on it and left the computer. About two hours later I decided to have another crack at it, but found that the it had somehow fixed itself. No one else touched the computer in between times, so I'm blown if I know what went on. I just hope your comp. does the same thing.

All the best.

Dat's one cool idea.

*bows down and worships*

I'm never quite nice enough to do  something like that for other people... maybe if there was chocolate involved it would be different....??

This sounds fun.

I will do it..... if I find the time (yes, all 15 minutes of it...)

Although I think I will do the comedy aspect of it. It seems to suit the whole 'zombies unexpectedly sprouting from behind a tree that I was sure was too short to hide anything tangibly dangerous or scary' concept. IMHO, anyway....
