The best way to talk to girls is to practice on guys. Create a sentence that is the FIRST thing you say whenever you see a friend. something like "hey, how are you?".

That way when you see the girl, you will be in the habit of automatically saying "hey, how are you," and let the conversation go from there.

If you falter later on in the dialogue, you are screwed.

Way to go Minimi. I know a couple of Missionary children, and one of my friends from church was/is a carer for them, so I (sort of) know what you're getting into, and believe me - if word be true - you are in for a massive year of spiritual growth and heaps of fun.

Wishing you all the best; and don't be gone for too long ;)

I love the new version. Very cool.

My only pondering is this: why can't I see out the window?

33 second paint over. LITERALLY.

*changed colours to something better
*added teeth and snot
*included a creepy eye
*added a fashionable ear (for practical purposes)

In all seriousness, though, I like Evil's paintover the best. It looks like a skull, whilst still looking like a rock. While I like traveler's, it looks more like a witch covent's symbol or something than a tribal stone.

Maddox actually summed up my opinions pretty well. I think Smith pissing on Isaac's grave is EXACTLY the right image.

Movie as a movie: 3/10
Movie as a book adaptation: -10/10

I don't mind Beserker's idea, though I really don't recommend you use it, because half the community will have read it by now, making it a non-twist. That's why I tried to refrain from saying too much earlier.  I see now that a crude plane MIGHT be feasible for your purposes, but the idea of building it from an ancient tribal sketch just doesn't ring true with me. If your character has enough knowledge to   FLY a helicopter (which is no feint task) they would probably know more about it's workings than a 2000 year old man in a cave. Suffice to say that I still think this would make an interesting and very playable game.

As far as I can see, a major thing to consider is the plausibility of building a plane. Although I couldn't find the article in your link (admittedly I wasn't trying to look terribly hard...) I don't doubt they made PLANS for a plane, but the fact that they never amounted to anyone actually CREATING one has to count for something. Would this plan really work?

As far as twists go, maybe you could somehow work the plane into it. For example, for the majority of the game your goal is to find a way of building a plane - but suddenly something happens and now you HAVE to stay on the island. Why? Maybe to uncover a hidden murder. Maybe all of a sudden you have a motive to KILL your partner. Who knows - it's your game, and I'll let you figure it out ;)

I love the black and white effect, personally, but I'm a lot better with colour than with charcoal, per se, so I colour in as if it were going to be a proper background, and then using Photoshop just remove the colour. More often than not the result is quite convincing. Although I could see cyan/blues working just as well...

To lgm's defence, I happened to like Dark City too, though Kiefer Sutherland wasn't exactly a strong character in it.

And Bicentennial man WAS based on Bicentennial man, though I remember an interview where someone admitted to including Asimov influences along the way.

The more I think about it, though, the more I'm beginning to dislike I, Robot. It's unjustified, but the more I read about people telling me to appreciate a movie for what it is, despite the fact that it obviously claims to boast the plot from a successful novel and then deviates greatly from it and tries to go all matrix-esque in a way that dismally fails, the more stubborn I become in my view that the directors have done some major brain crapping.

I agree.

The movie was a good watch, but after coming out, I'm quite sure I didn't go and see "I, Robot". Instead, I think the cinema's changed their mind, and ended up showing "Black Man in leather versus the machines with emotions who like to fight" instead. I, Robot is a story of the mind, and how humans - in all our 'knowledge' - succeed in screwing up time and time again.

This Will Smith movie - though it is a good watch -Ã,  was disappointing for the fact that it was SUPPOSED to be based on the book. Now - I know it didn't actually say 'based on Asimov's book', but then again, You didn't need Lord of The Rings to say "based on the trilogy by J.R.R Tolkien." Or did you?

It's just a given. If people are stupid enough to borrow titles basic plot lines from a book, then why SHOULDN'T they follow the WHOLE plot? And if they don't intend to do it - what gives them the right to title it after the book?

The answer? : None whatsoever.

Yes, definitely add an extra frame to the legs.

I know what Jack is getting at, but I too have seen the side-on style used frequently, and it doesn't bother me greatly. The thing that bugs me more than arms/legs or framerate or whatever is the fact that his hair is static.

I know it sounds a little silly, but every time I look at him, I'm just waiting for the front of his hair (where it falls over his forehead) to give a little bob.

Apart from that, your background is absolutely fabulous - I think your character will fit perfectly!

Good luck!

Thank-you, DG.

I could not agree more.

On a slightly defensive note, I hope I'm not one of these people being labelled a 'god-botherer' (as well as some less attractive terms). I just find it annoying how some people try to turn relgious discussions back on me. ie:

person: God sux0rs and we all know that rain is really god masturbating and then ejaculating all over the earth. Eva heard of da SECOND CUMMING? HAHAHAHA!
me: just so you know, I'm a christian. It doesn't particularly bother me what you post, but just so you don't deliberately try to start provoking me... you have been warned :)
person: shut up gaybo! I was just joking around! Why do you have to take EVERY SINGLE JOKE and turn it into a f***ing religious debate, dickbag. I don't want to hear your religious crap so don't force me to listen!
me: as long as you don't force me to listen to potentially-offending material of your own.
person: God will let you rot in hell you ball-sucker.
me: um... that's nice.

but yes, anyway, back on topic. Thank you dg. Discussion closed

nope.

I'm pretty sure he'd want to be left out of it as well...

I think to make the wheel motion more realistic, leave out every second spoke. If you look at a real wheelchair, you'll see they have far less spokes than you've put in. That will give you more room to cycle them around the circumference of the wheel.
