Congrats, redwall!

Can I suggest maybe scrapping the 3 inventory items of people's choice? It defeats the purpose the game really, when you say HERE'S A CHALLENGE, but oh, you have 3 opportunities to fix it however you want so it's really incredibly easy. I might enter if I knew everyone was dealing with exactly the same material.

Also, I like the complex 'plot-lines' when they're in games, but they look so mundane in text, and it's really heavy-going to read a post that just keeps going on and on and on for the sake of difficulty. Maybe limiting the number of actions allowed (or not...) so that my eyes don't end up skipping every second line...

Woo-hoo! 45 minutes (and no walk-throughs later) I'm done.

I found the key by accident, really. I was just pixel clicking, and didn't even know I had it until I looked in my inventory for something else. I saw it and thought "where did I get that". When I played it again I realised what you're talking about - it is a bit inconspicuous.

That face in the clouds at the end was scary. So.... happy.... and smily.... and.... cheerful

I like it, it looks quite smooth.

A couple of pointers:

His shoulders look a little too high. Notice how they almost touch the bottom of his ear? If you look in the mirror, you'll see just how low the shoulders can be.

The back of his neck seems to be stretching further backwards into his spine, almost like it's got a hump in it or something. It should come down more vertically.

Lastly, his butt needs a bit reworking. Sometimes it's flabby and fat and festering (which I love) and othertimes it seems to be sucked inwards, like it's shrinking for a frame or two.

wow. what a versatile topic! there's so much room for inspiration! I'll be sure to enter this one.

Thanks for clearing that up ben! I thought I was going insane! All these people talking about shadows, and I'm thinking "that looks like a man :("

But now I can safely reclaim my pedastool of awesomeness.

(I am humble)

KaaZ. Do you perhaps have an armpit fetish?

His avatars just keep seeming to..... develop, don't they. Next they'll be having armpit sex or something. If that's possible...

woah, illusion, calm down. Maybe you mis-interpreted Hotspot's intentions - all he was trying to do was answer your question. After all, you DID ask a question that had a yes or no answer, and HS answered accordingly to the best of his knowledge. Simply because he didn't know the FULL story doesn't mean his post was any more critical/eletist/snobby.

I think the online game idea, is fun, though. On a lighter note...

QuoteOne more thing...each background will have an AGS cup hidden in it   (including this one...)

I guess it's not blue then. Or you haven't put it in yet... or it's the shadow of the middle rock in the cluster of rocks going up the slope on the right hand side.

Wow! I really like the latest edit! I'd love to come across that in a game *HINT HINT*

Quotewhat would cause shadows...?

Well, you've got the sky looking very foggy/cloudy, which would be casting extensive, gloomy shadows for one. Apart from that, there's not much to crit really. Well, not in my opinion.

When I first read boyd's comment I was thinking "ummm...no...." but when I looked again, I actually could make out some demented furry little polar bears.

I really like your style though. I love the blurry effect, but it's probably too blurry to pass as a functionable background. The house looks pretty nice, too. Can't wait to see an updated version.

That girl with the (bleeding?) eyes is FANTASTIC! That's better than I do with my left-hand (and I'm left-handed). I think this is known as extreme jealousy...

actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Jessica Simpson making a Michael Ja....

oh, wait....

yeah, you got it it one.

Well, if you mix the letters up you get BIMBO CLICHES, so that's my guess. Not that it actually MEANS anything...

Moho might not be free, but you can MAKE it free. If you know what I mean. Or, alternatively, if you know the right sites to visit...

General Discussion / Re: Socialism
Thu 27/05/2004 08:32:39
I think socialism is a great concept, but - as seems to be the general opinion - I don't think it would work. By very nature, people are deceptive and dishonest, and always look out for themselves. It would be hard to enforce a law that said "sacrifice your money to poor people in africa you've never met before". People would be angry. We want things for ourselves, and unless we benefit out of a generous action too, we are unlikely to do it.

What increator said is an extremely good point. Not one Christian human has ever managed to abide the ten commandments completely. How much less would the morally corrupt? How do you control them? Well - naturally you'd create some sort of police force to watch over them, but then that doesn't really fit the strict definition of Socialism.

And I think some people BENEFIT from being jobless. I know of alcoholics that have transformed their lives because they don't have a job and therefore can afford little more than pepsi or water; gamblers who stopped because they just didn't have the money to feed their addiction; druggos that came clean because they couldn't pay for the heroine etc etc. I think employment is a wonderful thing, but for some people it just gives them a reason to blow their money on things that will kill them, and sometimes others.

I know there's no such thing as the perfect government, but I think a world run by an AM - as eric said - would be a whole lot better.

Hmm... I think I've found a bug, but I'm trying to recreate how I did it, and haven't seemed to be able to do it yet....

Spoiler
Once the window was open, I'd got the mop, combined it with the gum, connected the cabel to the armour and got the post. Then I went outside, came back in, went outside and came back in again, and suddenly I couldn't select items from the inventory, and I couldn't click on any objects. Well, i COULD click on them, but nothing would happen, like when you click on a useless object that doesn't have any actions to it...

But I love this game! I'll get round to playing the other entry in a minute...

General Discussion / Re: State of Origin

For all you non-Aussies, State of Origin is a football game (not soccer, but football, where you throw that brown, oval-shaped ball to each other...) between two Australian States. It's sort of like the sporting highlight of the year.

I'm pissed off, because it was shown at the big-screen at my church last night. I didn't go, but my Pastor did, and he's from new south wales. He'll be rubbing it in our queensland faces on Sunday.

Stupid NSW man, in his Stupid NSW clothes...

I (personally) thought the title was pretty obvious. Others seem to think otherwise?
