I think it's a fair idea. Although, as you say, it'd need to be a series.

It would be a pain for someone who's only interested in scripting to have to complete Storyboard land, Music land, Character Plot land and Art land first.

Apart from that, I'd say go for it. It would become a universal link for every newb that passes by these hallowed doors.

I always laugh when I see this one, too:

That reminds me of a conversation we had in #ags once ;)

I like the pics. I especially like the large flowers. It reminds me - as eric said - of a children's book.

agree with mods.

It's fairly catchy, but those guitars are more than just off beat. They're almost 3/16th of a beat off.
Move them to the left slightly (if you know what I mean) and it'll sound a whole lot better and in time.

Apart from that, it sounds fine.

I think it's fine. It doesn't really suit the midi genre to me, but I could see it working with better sound samples. A good program to use is Wingroove, or Midi2Wav: they're demoware, but I'm sure you might be able to find ways of getting around this without cracking your mind too much.

I don't really have time to do a technical analysis (not that it really needs it). If I get a bit more time later on, I'll try to.

I haven't downloaded it yet.

Though I will.

Is this based on the poem "Dream within a dream" by Edgar Allen Poe?

EDIT: Okay, obviously not.

EDITEDIT: Okay, so apparently it is... who am I to argue...

CJ, you might wanna add that clause to quick reply as well. Because that's what I use, and I don't see it anywhere.

Don't know if it's possible...

Isn't it obvious? Get a penis enlargement and then throw a bottle at Ron Jeremey.

oh...wait...

WHAT THE HELL?

Indeed it is, auhsor. It's a Christmas Carol, too. Which, notably, is wrong for this time of year. Quite puzzling.

I have had the same thing happen to me, though. I re-discovered Mozart's Symphony in G minor a couple of years back (I think I was about 15?). I was all happy, and then 15 minutes later I realised what I had done, and I became sad :(

6 times, it would seem. And even more if you count just the general questions/statements.

But as long as you understand, then it's all good. A good story is worth twice the explanation :D

MatsBerglinn, you haven't been browsing the forum, have you?

We tried to be nice, but it's hard when people just keep posting threads on "do this for me and I'll take the credit because I'm calling it MY game".
#392
"The Medieval game with no Title" sounds fine to me...
#393
Red Riding for sure. And the crazy seal-eating man. He should just run across the screen randomly shouting "SEAL! FEED ME SEAL!"

I didn't look who posted this, and I just thought "legge started ANOTHER thread?!" thank goodness for Lithium and his aliens.

I agree with zor, though.

I don't think I've even seen 30,000 websites, let alone 30,000 identical ones...

Zor, you fool! You have just enlisted your soul to the "make my game for free" cult.

Of course, along with this, you must expect endless criticisms, like "wtf are his OTHER LEGS! OMGOSH! A 2-LEGGED-DOG! ROFLMFAO! YOU P!SS ME OF YOU B@ST@RD"

And next you will write a 13 part orchestral score, complete with brass/piano fingering and arpeggiated flute parts.

EDIT: oh, legge, before you criticise people, take a hint: these people are doing you a favour. You said yourself you can't draw, so what right do you have to say what you want. Hey, I just had an idea. If you have an idea of the sort of dog you want drawn, then go and draw it.

I don't want to be mean, but believe me, people can be a lot worse...

hmmm, that's odd. Did you try streaming it, instead of downloading?

If it still doesn't work, copy and paste this lovely link into your browser:

http://s016054.tripod.com/peterthomasunleashed/id2.html

You will then be taken to a loverly page filled with mp3's. Click on the imaginatively entitled "click here to download file". That's the rebirth rhapsody.

You can't just walk into a forum and ask people to do a story for you, much less the AGS forum, where most people are fairly serious about their game-making. Oh, and animations and backgrounds and characters, too. And the statement "I'm thinking of making a game" would be a downright lie, seeing as you're barely doing anything aside scripting (which is NOT the most important part of a game).

You might be the best game-maker in the world, but why on earth do you think people would want to help you when all you do is say "draw a dog", followed by "excuse me? Where are the walking animations?". These are real people with real lives, and as nice as we all are, we don't just put our lives on hold to make games for other people who give orders.

There have been a lot of people who say they want a 'team', and three weeks later they decide to cancel the project. Until we know you are any different (you could show this by actually doing something yourself) you can't expect people to treat you differently.

Anyway, welcome to the forums.

I like the pics a lot, and, personally, I like the 'working' title better than Dark Forest. But both are still good.
