isn't it weird how some people attract so much attention for the wrong reasons?

No question about it - he was a good fellow, and he fought for some very good causes, and he deserves HEAPS of credit for that, but whenever you hear his name, you think "race driver".

And, really, driving a car is one of the least memorable things a man can do...

ARGH! those car pictures were part of my highschool QCS test!!! oh the memories...

(all you non-aussies, QCS is the 'final' exam you do that determines your overall position in teh school when you graduate)

...the local Burger King.

"How can I help you?" asked the young blonde behind the counter.

"Erm... I'm looking for my great-grandmother," said John slowly. "I was wondering if you might have her? Her name was Agnes."

"Oh - Agnes, yes! We were just about to put her in the deep fryer, weren't we boys!" She leaned back and pulled a dead, rotting corpse out of the chip-basket. "This her?"

"YES!" cried John with joy! All he had to do now was stick a tribal-indian-spear (conveniently hanging on the wall) into Agnes' kidney to kill the worm.

But, before he could grab the spear, he heard a wild cackle erupt from behind him.

IT WAS HIS POSESED SISTER SEGNA!!

“Sorry ‘bout the confusion before, John. I suppose I should of explained this whole “great evil” business to you before or something, but it sounded more mysterious this way. Anyway â€" this G.E isn't actually what you would call human. Although it's not as weird as pineapples or earwax either… I'll have to speak to the director about that bit.

This G.E is a mutant worm that resides in the kidney of your great-grandmother Agnes. Fortunately for you, Agnes is dead, so there won't be a lot of physical work. Less fortunate is the fact that whilst the worm inhabits a dead human, it has psychic powers that allow it to control other beings vicariously. Even less fortunate is that the person being controlled is your sister Senga. Even less fortunate is the fact that you didn't know you had a sister. So now you must go and find her. And kill her, too.”

John was just about to set out his new quest, when there was a massive explosion behind him. He turned around, only to see…..

I will try to enter by the end of today, but a push of the deadline would come in handy (for me, anyway).

The time-waster for me is going back between the movie and the score, checking that the music matches the action etc...
#528
argh! crap! I totally forgot about this comp...

I will write a story soon!! Maybe in the next half hour or so?!?! geez... I wish I could remember these things...

Hold tight.

EDIT: Just a thought, but is there some way of organzing it so that a different person chooses the topic or something? I know there's no 'winner' as such, so you can't say winner picks next idea, but I think it would be interesting if different people got a go, so we can see what each person's 'flair' is...

EDITEDIT: WooHoo! Story finished and submitted. Who's the man, eh?! Why you pointing at my Dad...?

PAVOLVA!!!one!!

It is full of sugar, has virtually NO vitamins (unless you count sugar), is topped with tropical fruits (even more sugar) and is always served with cream (a.k.a sugar and fat) and icecream (also more sugar).

Serve it with a mug of hot chocolate and I would happily swap my girlfriend for it...

...they comfort me."

What's your point?

God obviously wasn't aware of the wonders of broadband. Had he been, the verse would've read more like:

Even though I walk through the valley of slow modems, I will fear no evil, for your isp is with me; your modem and your telephone line, they comfort me.

I went for 5 years with a 56k modem that connect at 33k (on a good day...)

A couple of months back I got cable, and it's great.

You are missing out on a lot, and I anticipate you will die of boredom in about 6 minutes...

Welcome aboard!

(If you really want to experience 3D, I can knock up a pair of 3d-glasses in about 5 minutes. Forget Shabz - he can't do NOTHING to beat my all-out "paper and coloured cellophane" glasses!)

Some "puzzles for the sake of puzzles" are funny. Like the ones in Cirque de Zale. None of them were 'useless' as such, but some were just plain strange, I loved the game because of it. But on the whole, yes, they suck

Other big no-no's:

1 - Pixel Hunting. This has been mentioned, but this pisses me off more than anything. A game should be about intellect and logic (sometimes chance), not about how many times you can click the mouse in a 15x15 pixel radius.

2 - Non-fitting music/sound effects. I dislike having a silent scene, and then a loud crash just coming out of nowhere. You either have noise or silence. you can never get both of them to work effectively unless you're using super-ultra realistic mp3's with amazingly-deluxe graphics.

3 - slow walk cycles. The only game I've ever appreciated for its stupidly slow walk cycle was Snail Quest. And that was crap. Every other game that suffers from this condition should rot in hell.

4 - Bad Humour. If a situation is going to be funny, it will be funny no matter what you do. You shouldn't have to sit down and FIGURE OUT how to make something funny. The more you do, the less humourous it becomes.

5 - Prince Charles.     Oh...wait...he's not in Ags, is he...

This is it, folks. The episode you've all been waiting for...

Oh well, so it's not that great. But after 6 seasons you could imagine why they got lazy, yeah?

NEXT: "Damn. No - seriously, damn! I just KNEW I shouldn't have tried feeding
'Secret Chemical X' to my baby girl..."

General Discussion / Re:What do you DO?
Thu 22/04/2004 05:51:46
I'm in first year uni, studying Secondary Education for English and Music. As electives, I also do Physics and Philosophy, though they aren't legally allowed to be put on my graduating certificate...

I currently work as an English Tutor for kids who have english as a second language. I find this to be very good, because most asian families are rich, so I go over to their house, and they force me to eat lots of nice, expensive food, and then they give me lots of nice, expensive gifts that I show off to people and pretend I bought with my massive amounts of money that I store in un-named Swiss bank accounts.

The pay rate is good, too. $25 - $35 dollars an hour, depending on the kid

You are right, Kinoko.

It is terribly hard to say anything on a forum without people telling you you're wrong. However I wasn't aiming to do that... I was just having a lark...

...or whatever you youngin's call it these days...

*sigh* Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just be friends and make adventure games together. :)

Except for the fact that you tried to launch a flame-war thread - tactlessly disguised as a drug issue...
