You do realise that 'Only gay eskimo' is not by Tenacious D?

Love the D, big time fan here. The best thing about them is that unlike some other comic music acts, their music is actually quite good. And Jack Black probably has the best voice I've ever heard.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I will when it comes out here. Sadly I don't think they'll ever tour South Africa :(

I started playing, it seemed like a nice game, but then I saw that I had to wait an hour and 42 minutes for a flight ... in real time. So I gave up.

I think the game could work if the flight times were reduced.

Vel: What I did first was to build up my dream recall. Every night before you go to bed tell yourself that you are
going to remember your dreams. Then in the morning try and remember as much as possible and write it down in a book. It took me about a week to get to at least 2-3 dreams a night. (this part is very important, because you could end up having a lucid dream and not remembering!)

While you do that get into the habit of performing regular reality checks, even while you're conscious. Wear a watch and constantly look at time, except always do it twice. If the time changes from the first time you looked you'll know you're dreaming. Do the same thing when you find yourself reading a book or something. Eventually you'll find yourself performing the checks in your dreams, and when you do them they'll fail and you'll achieve lucidity!

Sounds like a lot of work, I know, but it's all worth it!

I had this really annoying dream last night: I remember thinking, "Damn, this situation is pretty whacked, I'm probably dreaming. Oh yes I'm definitely dreaming! --- Hey, wait ... Everything looks pretty realistic, I actually don't think I'm dreaming!"
I was so close!!

Pmdee: You can train yourself to have Lucid dreams. Everyone dreams at least 3-4 times a night, it's just often that people don't remember their dreams. The fact that you can recall at least one dream a night is pretty good.
Lucid dreaming is the act of becoming aware that you're dreaming once you're dreaming. There are several ways to do this, including reality checks etc. You can read more about it on wikipedia and other sites from Google.

I've been training myself for lucidity and had my first lucid dream about 3 nights ago after about a month of training. It's rewarding and is actually one the best experiences ever! I highly recommend it to anyone.

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 4.3 GLOBAL HECTARES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 1.8 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE GLOBAL HECTARES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 1.2 PLANETS.

Woohoo!

Lucid Dreams are the best kind. I had one last night, it was seriously awesome. I can't remember much about it, but it involved kidnapping, fence jumping and a large amount of guns in my pocket.

What, for just that instance? Make a whole new inventory that'd get in the way of the player for a single instance?

This is what we did in 'The Netherworld":

To use an item you just select it and use it on the head symbol.

The layout is nice. The logo seems a bit out of place, not really sure what it is or how it relates to a fish.

Heh, it's supposed to be a dagger! I suppose it's a bit hard to see because of the blade at the bottom.

Quote from: Evil on Wed 22/11/2006 17:15:06Also, when coding, make the band photos smaller, because they've obviously been shrank, but not resized. That weird grain of a shrank photo.

Yeah, I only knocked this up quick in paint and used MSPaint scaling, so the grain is understandable.

It certainly looks rather plain. You said you'll insert a blue background. This would almost be as dull as white. take a look at some signed artists of a similiar genre and see what sort of backgrounds they use. Generally if the text box is translucent, the background photo needs to be low in saturation of colour, or so the text doesn't disappear into it. If the box is solid, then a background that looks nice around the box, but at least you're not so restricted with what image to use.

I was thinking of making the text-box solid white, and then a tiling background image of a blue image with a wavey line or something, I don't know how to explain it properly.

Pop ups? Does that mean when I click on them, my pop up blocker will block them? If you got a designer who knew flash, they could make the thumbnails grow in size when the mouse hovers over them. Then perhaps a click will send you to the photo/pop-up?

It might be blocked by a popup blocker ... That is a potential problem. I just think it might be a bit impractical to have the images opening in new windows all the time. Flash however is a road I really don't want to go down unless I have no other choice.

I'd say look for a nicer font, something not so commonly used, but easily readable still. The font for "home" etc looks nice as it is though. (Is that the same font or not? Either way i stand by what I think)

The font is my main concern. I don't think it's that nice, so if anyone has any suggestions, please post!!

Nice idea for a story. ;D

Not to offend you, but your grammar isn't that good. You constantly switch from past to present tense. There are a few split infinitives, as well as concord being an issue in a lot of your sentences.

You should read a lot of books and I mean A LOT of books. Books are fun, and do wonders for your spelling and grammar!

Good luck for future stories you may write, hope I didn't discourage you. ;)

Tell me what you think. It's the website for my band. Right now all I have is this image, but once the design is finalized I'll seek a web designer.
How's the layout? I'm probably gonna add a blue background or something later.

(those photos are just stock photos from google, they will be replaced!).

I average around 40% - 50% for most of my subjects, excepting computer studies which I average around 90%.

Pretty weird eh? (I am trying harder now, I'm hoping to raise most of my marks by about 10%, last term I raised my aggregate by 9.2%!)

(blame AGS!!)

I think that's just how playing guitar is. It takes a while to get used to bending your arm around a guitar neck, but after a bit of practice it becomes like a second nature. ;)
