I still play games on cassette
The only authentic magnetic media. I like your style! If you ask me, this whole "compact disc" thing is just a fad. It will never catch on. People will come back to cassettes. You just wait and see. :cheesy:

I still play my games from disk, you know. Have you kids even ever seen a floppy disk that's actually floppy!?
Punch cards or nothin'! You haven't played Colossal Cave Adventure properly unless you've spent twelve hours feeding the punch cards in, one at a time, into your IBM / Hollerith card reader only to discover that you got two cards out of order six hours earlier and now you'll have to spend the entire next day reloading them again. And no saved games! None! Saved games are for wussies! Make a mistake and die? Perma-death followed by twelve hours of card loading to start a new game!

Now when is the CupCast going to be available on vinyl or 8-track I can get in the mail? I'm tired of trying to get your fancy electro-files to play in this new-fangled "Real Audio" player you forced me to install.

We've joined the rest of the internet and now our podcast is available on iTunes!

Sweet! This means you'll have to put out new installments at regular intervals of else Steve Jobs (now in Lich form) gets to harvest your souls for violating the iTunes EULA. It's a win/win either way! :cheesy:

EDIT:
Taking a cue from the king of trophies, Vince XII, I would say that two game soundtracks I can never get enough of are Dark Forces and Outlaws. I loop them often when I'm working on AGS stuff.

As for subversion of the voting system, I'd like to take this opportunity to blame Ponch. ;)  His radical libertarian politics and nationalistic phobia of hanging chads makes him extremely sceptical of innovations in democracy.
I can't be bothered to read any rules regarding new voting procedures. I'm old and set in my ways! And it's hard to read when you never stop dancing! :=

Congrats to the winners and RIP Jim Kelly. I owned several of your movies on VHS when I was a kid. You were awesome, sir.

we can't release more than a single static image of the least Dangerous And Sexy part:

My God! The sheer amount of DangerSexTM on display is almost overwhelming! I think you made the right call by sparing the more sensitive members of this community exposure to such a thing. Think of the children! 8-0

anything to report?
I may be able to scrape together a dozen hours or so and finish my abandoned OROW game. Fingers crossed, anyway... :P

1) Kconan
2) Chef
3) Baron

Good reads all around. I wish I'd been able to finish my story in time, but I'm just working too much these last few weeks. :embarrassed:

Congrats to the winners! I would have voted, but I still have two games left to play. :-[

I hope we can do this again next year!

I fell asleep last night listening to the podcast and had visions of Ben304s and Grudislavs dancing in my head.
Oh, that was going to happen anyway.

Thanks for the new cupcast, guys. Enjoyable as always -- and much sooner than expected! I want (nay! demand!) to see pictures of the cork board. :=

I'm glad Chef made the deadline, but I won't. I'm just too busy at the moment. Heck, this is the first time I've logged onto the forums in four days. Good luck to the writers!

All right: Deadline extended to the end of Saturday, 13 july. That should be enough time, I hope.
Thanks! I'll try to make the most of it.

if you need an extension of the deadline, just ask. I realise that OROW probably took time away for some people.
I wouldn't mind an extension of a few days and another roll on the Tropes Randomizer.

I'm on the bagged milk right now.
That's the spirit! Embrace your addiction! You can't get help until you admit there's a problem. :=

Anyone else still hacking away at this?
I want to. But between failing to finish OROW and unexpectedly having a house guest for the last four days, I just haven't had any free time to sit down and write. Plus, I can't find a good angle to make "Left the background music on" work as a story. Even if I stole Stupot's theme, as he kindly offered, I can't make "Nixon mask" work either. I'm stuck! :undecided:

I've never been to B.C. ... since it's likely very Americanized over there.
Hmmm... A plot hook is developing in the back of my mind...

QuoteDo you actually order in Timmies coffee? I actually prefer McDonald's coffee now that they started selling it and trying to compete with Tim's.
Heck yes I did! Here in El Paso, Timmies coffee is like something delightful and exotic brought back by Marco Polo or something. A Canadian dude sent me a ten dollar Tim Horton's gift card after playing this game. How could I resist ordering some (mostly) free coffee with it? :cheesy:

QuoteAnd I badly need to finish playing this game. I got pretty far with it but never got around to completing it. So far it's quite hilarious.
Since you're listed as a playtester for this game, I'd agree that it's probably past time you finished it. :=

I haven t seen milk in a bag since I was a kid
Really? I thought I saw some the last time I was there. But it's been a while. I'd hate to think Canada had forsaken one of their most quirky traits. :undecided:

Hey that's where I live!! I hope I'll be able to go!
Neat! Unfortunately, it's about a ten hour drive or so from El Paso, so I won't be attending. Good luck, Nikolas! Be sure to pick up a cowboy hat and six shooter while you're here.
