I think I'll still be able to finish mine -- it's 4:56 PM here in Ontario. So, it's still the 6th.  ;)

Still a few hours left. Drink a big cup of coffee and fire up AGS! I know you can do it!  ;-D

EDIT: Tabata, your bottomless barrel of cow gifs never fails to amuse me.  8-)

I should really be working on the next chapter of The Forever Friday, but I made this instead! :=

"The Mayor's New Dress"
(Inspired by the fairy tale "The Emperor's New Clothes")

This story, my entry in the July 2012 MAGS event (theme: "Fairy Tale), is done in a "visual novel" approach, follows mayor Marguerite DuChamp as she deals with the fallout of a very sexy scandal that could end in her losing her seat in the mayor's office. If she's going to win over the hearts of the people who could vote to throw her out of power (and into prison), she's really going to have to wow them with a powerfully persuasive oration. But where on earth can she find a dress suitable for such an important speech? If you know the fairy tale, you know what happens next. (Or do you?)

I've never done a visual novel style game before, so this was quite a lot of fun -- and more work than I expected it to be. I hope you like it enough to vote for me.  8-)

In order to keep with the MAGS rule of "all new assets", I drew a ton of new art for this game and made sure to use NO sprites, GUIS, or cursors from any prior Barn Runner games (except for the TackyWorld logo, but that purple planet is my thing, man! You can't ask me to give it up!)

Thanks to Dualnames for the music, Trampoline for translating a bit of Latin, Ben304 for the nice painting he provided, Baron for the theme, and Atelier for keeping MAGS running every month.

DOWNLOAD AND LET THE TAWDRY ADVENTURE BEGIN! (Seriously, shame on you!)

(Note: For anyone who follows the Barn Runner storyline closely, this story takes place a few weeks after Barn Runner 2: The Ejection Rejection)

Sprinting hard for second place with my Jet Bike!  ;-D

What? Don't look at me like that! A jet bike could be an inventory item!  (wtf)

(The snazzy blue windscreen is actually part of a transparent plastic cake box lid that was cut to fit, not part of the stock jet bike, and is therefore an inventory item that has been added to the jetbike so the player could solve the "drive jetbike through the delicious but stinging cloud of honeybees blocking the road puzzle"!  (nod) Hooray for following the rules!)

Just that post, the ashtray, and the paddle ball. And that's ALL that I need!

Don't forget those Pointy Birds.

Just that post, the ashtray, the paddle ball, Blade Runner, and the Pointy Birds! And that's ALL that I need!

And a bald hamster.

Just that post, the ashtray, the paddle ball, Blade Runner, the Pointy Birds, and the bald hamster! And that's ALL that I need!

Also, is it Weird Science?

Trampoline had a birthday? Man, I always wanted a trampoline for my birthday. He's so lucky.

I'm not sure I like the accusing glint in your monocle, Baron. (wrong)

Keep this up and you're gonna lose your spooning privileges.  :=

Amnesty ahoy!

My thanks go out to Ponch for picking such an awesome theme for this month's MAGS. Truly he is a rump shakin' blessing to all the AGSers of the world.

My game is from January. Theme: The Tavern

Cut n' pasted from the old thread:

Somewhere on the last remaining server of the mostly forgotten "Quest World Of Evercraft" game, in an empty zone, Mugg's Tavern sits in the middle of a low polygon forest, still open for business.

It's a great place for those who want to lay low for a while. Even better, it sells surprisingly cheap beer. You see, Mugg's menu still uses prices from late 1999, back when the game was still the most popular MMORPG on the webs. (The devs never got around to patching the prices. They were too busy nerfing less popular classes).

But to the surprise of everyone at the bar, a new quest is about to be offered -- the first new quest this game has seen in over a decade.

Will you be up to the challenge? Find out January August 31st!  :=

Ten year head start my big bovine butt! I have apparently outfoxed all of you with my devious plan of starting the game at the start of the contest. No one could have seen that coming!  8-)

One of his inventory items is the title of the movie (at least the english title), I'll tell you that much. :)

Leather Vest Golfer, Girl Watcher? (It's like the hipster version of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy := )

I'm stumped. Can we get another screenshot? Or am I going to have to start guessing Blade Runner again?

Steak-Cake? Sweet biscuits, why didn't anyone tell me this exists! I'm dying for a slice! Heck, I'd even be willing to wash it down with some of that bagged milk they have up north. (Canadians are so kooky!)

Also, the deadline for this MAGS is August 6th. If you're going to enter a game, Nightfable, you'd better hustle! The game can be as small or big as you like and can have as many or as few puzzles as you feel like putting into it. Good luck!

I had an unfortunate incident a good while ago with knackered hard drives...

Maybe one day...

Don't give up hope. I lost almost the entirety of The Forever Friday in a hard drive crash. It took me a couple of years, but I'm finally back on track. I have faith in you!  ;-D

Ponch and Pierrec, how are yours going?

Almost done. I should be able to finish it by this weekend, squeaking past the deadline in the nick of time.  :cheesy:
