These are the loveliest sprites. I hope you make a game with them!

I agree 100J%

I've got an idea for something. I'll see if I can hash it into something workable tomorrow or Monday.  :)

What makes it extra amazing is that Baron went to the trouble of drawing the gun from Barn Runner on model!!! (Something I can only be bothered to do only some of the time)  :D

That figure has a kilt on.
I am so glad you recognised the kilt! But can you tell the CLAN?  ;D

Something hockey related, no doubt. (Shakes tiny fist at Canada's hockey superiority)

Updated first post with Dualgoodness.  :D

That figure has a kilt on. So I can only assume it's

Ryan Timothy, because he's Canadian and Canadians do strange things (like putting gravy on french fries).  :=

PMQ Colosseum could possibly becoming to PAX east next Month.

I'm almost forty years old and until this moment, my mind has never truly boggled.

Well done, Icey. I'm gonna go lie down now.  ;)

...That's like saying I can't make a PMQ game. Or sell my own games seeing how Icey and a Pub was included in Ponch's OSD game...

Icey, no one owns (or can own) the rights to any and all depictions of a pub. And I added it to my game because no pirate port is complete without a pub. I included Icey the Magical Talking Snowman as an homage to you -- by the way, you were going under the handle "Studio 3" at the time, so that made it extra ironic.

I did it for the the same reason Baron's avatar appears in the game as a pirate in a hot air balloon and Numbat Bob is an obvious stand in for Ben304 (who translated all his lines of dialog into Australianese): Because it was a nice tip of the hat to the AGS community. I even put my girlfriend, Kim, into the game as a pirate because I knew she'd get a kick out of it. Heck I appear as a pirate myself. There are something like thirty pirates and other NPCs in that game. I was filling every role using any trick I could think of.

But at no point was I implying ownership of Baron's forum avatar or Ben's stylish akubra (or Kim's voodoo powers).

OSD is an open source world. You can't take characters from it and put them in a game you're going to charge money for. Not without getting literally everyone's permission to do so. This is the same reason Handsfree had to pull his RON game from the Bake Sale. He couldn't claim sole ownership of every character, location, sprite, and background in the game. RON wasn't his to sell, even for such a good cause.

You can use all your GearPubDVDA characters in your game. You could even go so far as to create a character called "Dennis" who is inspired by but clearly a parody of OSD (though that probably wouldn't win you many friends). But you can't use "Oceanspirit Dennis" himself, or any of the other shared characters / locations of the Oceanspiritverse. Their not yours to sell!

And you can't use anyone else's characters either, without their express permission.  >:(

At this point, couldn't you just come up with a few more original characters to replace Dennis and any others that you want to borrow? How hard could it be at this point?

Sigh.

Sorry to post this after Darth has rattled the keys, but I just now noticed the direction this thread had taken (and my sudden inclusion in Icey's effort to bolster his argument).

Hello peapod,

I assume you're playing part one of the Armageddon Eclair, and that the little robot you're trying to shoot is the one trying to kill you with a chainsaw.

Cycle through your cursors until you get to the one that looks like a hand holding a gun. The hotspot for that cursor is on the end of the gun barrel. Click it on the little robot and the hero should shoot the robot. Just make sure you do it before he reaches you!

Thanks for playing my game.  :)

the concensus amongst moderators...

This exists? Awesome! Do you meet in a secret, undisclosed location? Like the Halls Of Justice? Are Batman and Aquaman there too? This is the coolest thing I've ever heard!!  :D

Dave finally pried himself away from the hooker pile and the cocaine trough long enough to give us the final stats. So without further slander and or libel, here they are:

Number of bundles sold: 1074

Largest amount donated: $99.99

Average donation: $3.87

Number of donations $5 or below: 855 (79%)

Number of donations $20 or above: 35 (3%)

Total earned: $4191.98

Considering I was hopeful we might raise 300 dollars, this is an astoundingly big success. Truly, a day that will live in AGS history forever. My thanks to all the bakers and to everyone who supported us and cheered us on.

Thank you, AGS Community. You are truly a bunch of wonderful people!  :D

You can use my character, but only if the game AND the dlc are free. If you charge for anything related to that game, then no.

And also, why work on a new game? Why not just keep working on this one and release it and the dlc for free? Wasn't the the plan originally?
