I'm proud to say I took the "no more than one hour per person" thing very seriously. 
And as far as providing sounds go, I had to wait until the animations were in the game before I could try to mix up the right sounds. What if I'd spent hours mixing together the perfect exploding poodle sound, but then the wav doesn't match up to the animated sequence? Why, it would be a tragedy, of course! That's why I wisely waited until the last possible moment. 8)
