If we are already deciding to make regular bundles, it would be useful to have some financial goals planned for them too.

Otherwise it's pretty weird to be planning them, don't you think?

There you go again, bringing common sense and practical advice into this again. Stop that! ;) One giant step at a time, Ascovel. There will always be worthy causes to raise money for, right? Right! So let us dream of next year's bake sale while working on this one. And if that second bake sale never materializes (which would be a tragedy), then after a year or so, everyone gets to do what they want with their games. How does that sound?

The thinking is that the game you offer up will be part of the bake sale bundle and squirreled away for a year to give people an incentive to buy the games during the sale and not just wait patiently for a month for the sale to end and then get them for free instead of helping us to raise money.

After the year has passed, we hold a new bake sale for another worthy cause and once the second bake sale is over,  you'll get your old game from the first bake sale back to do what you want with it.

I hope that sounds fair to everyone.  :)

For everyone that's wondering, I just sent CJ a PM to see if there's any particular cause he supports for the bake sale (since he didn't want our shiny new server  :'(  ;) ).

Hopefully he'll see the Pumaman signal and swing over here.

Until then, the bake sale continues as normal.  :D

Not a bad idea. Maybe we could buy some product placement in the next Transformers movie. ;)

We're currently mulling over ideas in the bat cave. We should have something soon.  :)

I have no idea what movie this is, butt* it just became my favorite move ever!  ;D

So there's a good chance I might have been a bit slow on the uptake. Just out of curiosity, if I were to finish my game (that I was working on before all this came up) before December 15th, could I enter it in this lovely bake sale?

Sure. If it meets all the requirements we've talked about above, then I don't see why not. We'd love to add your baked goods to our pile.

Cat! We're shining the Cat Signal into the night sky! We need you!  ;)

So... the money isn't going to AGS anymore?

Too early to tell. CJ says he doesn't need a new server, that the 486 DX2 he's got is just fine ;-)

So we'll have to look for a new goal. AGS related, I hope. Or maybe we can raise some money for a worth charity and donate it in the name of the AGS Community or something.

This calls for a secret meeting! Bakers! To the PM box!  :=

Seems there's going to be a (slight) change of plans

Only if the other bakers think we should. I'm sure a good case could be made for bumping the deadline back a few weeks, for several perfectly valid reasons. But if you're just dying to get your game out the door in six weeks instead of eight, we could always do that instead.

I'm all for letting the bakers decide.

I'm shocked Romanians would build a four way stop over a satanic shrine like that. Seems like poor city planning if you ask me. On the other hand, you have to love those large yellow lines. Nobody is going to accidentally cross into the oncoming lane with those babies in place!  :=

Where the hell did all these Australians come from? Are we really letting that sort in our nice, clean forums now? They're sure to get kangaroo poo and vegemite all over everything. Goodness, there goes the neighborhood.  ;)

Icey! You came back!  :D

I was afraid we'd chased you away for good, forcing us to begin a strange new chapter in the AGS forums -- one tragically Icey-less. I don't think I could have handled living in a world like that!

Guys, you're awesome  :)

Hooray! Somebody found the pub where Chris was sleeping it off. \o/

Thanks, CJ. I'm glad you didn't shut us down out of hand -- it was a concern. After all you've done for us, this was the least we could do for you. And we were certain that you were using an old Vic-20 as a server, so a new server seemed the obvious thing.

However, if that isn't the case, then what do we do with the money raised?

I can think of only one thing to do at the moment:

We extend the time to work on the AGS Bake Sale to January 1st. That will give everyone a little more time to work on their games and enjoy the holidays while we come up with a new way to save the world.

What do you think, guys? Good idea? Or good-est idea ever?  :=

3) The game must be suitable to be sold. No copyright infringements, no MP3s, use OGG instead, and all that stuff.

Aw man, there went my Back to the Future and Monkey Island jokes.

You can still do that. South Park does it. So do The Simpsons. Making fun of copyrighted stuff falls under the "fair use" and "parody" clauses. So those jokes are back in!  :D

Icey? You still around?

Come back, Icey! All is forgiven!  :D

Thanks! I'm trying to top my "Secret Santa" theme art from last year.

I look forward to reading your story and I hope we can "scare up" a few more entries! (<-- Look! A Pun!)

Tzachs once made a game that ended with a giant talking penis (<-- Spoiler alert). So I don't see how he could object to your penis game. As for myself, I fully support the penis. I have one myself and I'm quite fond of it.  8)

Is Ben making every game in the bake sale? Can he make mine too? Man, that would save me a lot of time.  8)

We'd love to have you on board, Monkey.

But just a few points up front:

1) The game must be completed by mid-December to be included in the bundle.
2) You have to agree that the money raised will go to buying a new server and not spent on hookers and cocaine.
3) The game must be suitable to be sold. No copyright infringements, no MP3s, use OGG instead, and all that stuff.
4) The games need to be as polished as possible, so have it play tested and checked for typos, and so forth.

If you're man monkey enough for that challenge, then welcome aboard!  :D

So if anyone wants to send along a veiled dancing cow, maybe doing some sort of belly dance, we may well have something to discuss.

Will this do?
