Ooo, I love the palette.

Second. I also like the retro styling. The Zephyr looks something from an old school Atari game and the hero looks cool as well. I like it!

Owls? Erectile dysfunction? What's not to love?

So true! I've always said what AGS needed more of was poorly functioning penises. Has Viagra ever been an inventory item before?  ;)

Damn! The zombie apocalypse broke out just as he was about to sign a development deal with Square-Peniks. Oh, bitter, bitter fate! Why do you mock us so?!

A whodunnit with Cthulhu, I hope!  :D

So THIS is what you were working on behind the scenes. Looks very dark and unsettling, man. I'm intrigued to see where you go with this.

Armageddon: You've got about two months to get one together for the bake sale. That's like two MAGS! Or eight OROWs! Plenty of time, if you ask me.  ;)

Snarky: We're looking to raise as much as we can. Whatever is left over after we buy the server will go towards the future of the AGS Engine itself (which is a secret I'm not sure I can talk about just yet).  :)  Trust me, great things are afoot in the land of AGS, sir!

If this game produces a code for a future Barn Runner I will come to your house and kill you in your bathroom!

:D

Y'know, I hadn't considered putting campaign codes in this game, but now that you mention it...  ;)

It's adorable! This will surely be the sweet icing on top of pile of baked goods!

Woah! Did it just get sticky in here?  :D

I've never had a sticky thread before! I feel like I'm somebody now!

And thanks Ben and Tzachs for helping to get the word out on the blogosphere! Now if only the AGS Blog would show some love to the AGS Bake Sale (oh, sweet irony!)

EDIT: Ben and Darth, I'm trying to respond to your PMs. But I've reached the arbitrary and minuscule 6 PMs per hour limit. Curse your spam filtering ways, AGS Server. Why do you do this to me when all I want to do is help you!  ::)

They had me at G'Day of the Tentacle.  :D

Personally, I'm assuming that the giant mountain of porn is in the foreground, blocking off the rest of the shack (?) and preventing us from exploring the bedroom, the bath, or the kitchen. No sir, young Ben has all he needs in that one un-pornified corner of the shack: a computer, a musical instrument, and a door to go exploring the outside world in the never ending search for fresh porn.  :=

Mocking an oceanspirit dennis game is like oceanspiriting in an ocean of oceanspirits.

Yes. It's EXACTLY like that!  :D

Thanks, guys!

I thought about making a non-Barn Runner game. And then I had a nifty idea for one. But there was no way I was going to be able to make it in the time allotted, so I went with what I had the most resources available for.

In my defense, this game will be pretty different from most Barn Runner games. Prick will actually have to do a little detective work, as opposed to how most of my games play out in which the story begins after he's figured out whodunnit and must track them down and shoot the hell out of them.

This time around, he has no idea who did it, and must question everyone in the restaurant and try to pick out inconsistencies in their stories and try to discern how they feel about the other people present to see if one is trying to set up another.

The game ends when Prick announces who he thinks did it. He can accuse almost anyone present, but how can you know if you accused the right person or not? So many innocent people to imprison accidentally!

Plus it features a big, endlessly looping room. I've always wanted to do one of those! :D

I hope you guys like it!

Can you elaborate on that just a bit?  ???

I wish Tabata were here to give me a better sad face than this one, :'(, because it is not doing my sadness justice.

Sadness? Don't be silly! This is a time for rejoicing! And, Snake, did you know that the AGS Bake Sale is open to all members of the AGS Community!

Why, even a longtime member in good standing such as yourself can join. All you have to do is get a game together by the middle of December. Heck, I think you should do that very thing! And this would be a great thread to recruit a little help if you don't think you'll be able to finish in time on your own!

That's a great idea you just had there, Snakey, old boy!

Anybody here want to volunteer to help Snake with a game? Just raise your hands! Don't be shy now!

I look forward to seeing what a venerable, nigh legendary AGSer like yourself can come up with, Snake. I do indeed!

These are exciting times in which we live, people. Very exciting!  :D

What's really cool: Since even the secret bakers had no idea what the other secret bakers were up to... this is a supersecretive all-outing!

Very true! I knew who the members of the original Baker's Dozen* were, but I had no idea what any of them were working on. Watching these people trot out screenshots from the games they've been working on for the last month is really cool. There are some really great ideas for games in this secret society -- and also another Barn Runner game!  :=

I hope lots of you guys are following Frodo's example and starting a piggy bank fund. This "pay what you like" pricing scheme depends a lot on you guys deciding that "one shiny penny should do" is the wrong attitude and ponying up a bit more than that.  ;)

Lastly, I expect to see Ghost's character on page three any week now. Although I'm not sure that's necessary. If you look at the screenshots, you've already seen every thing page three would have to offer. :D

Thanks for the outpouring of support so far, guys!  ;D

* There were 13 of us originally, plus Darth and a certain Greek blogger who promised us exciting and interesting write ups about us on a certain blog. Said articles have yet to appear. But I remain hopeful. ;)

Darth: Launch the sticky thread when you're ready to do so. As this thing grows in size, it will be invaluable in helping people keep track of all the games being made for the bake sale. Thanks!  :D

Kodiak: Thanks for your support. The story behind the server is we need a new one. For the longest time, we've talked about a new design for the front page. A lot of work was even done towards that end, but ultimately nothing came of it. The bake sale may be the impetus to get that back on track. Also there have been issues regarding uptime and various forum functions not quite working as they should. We hope to raise both the cash and the interest needed to address those issues and make this community an even awesome-r place to be on the interwebs. :)

Aye, the extent of our elitism is "Will be willing to donate a game to a fund-raiser from which all proceeds are intended to be spent on an AGS server" and "Will be able to complete this game by around the middle of December".

Ah yes, good points. Smart man to point out the bit about the money raised. I'm glad someone with some sense is making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes. Whoever put you in charge made a good decision to let you make as many decisions as possible. Smart thinking!  8)

I'm guessing we have to use AGS to make the games if we want to participate in this?

Or is it only for the, 'BEST OF THE BEST' people?

If by "best of the best" you mean "I really, really want to make a game for this event and can have it in by December 15th or so" then, yeah, we're a pretty exclusive group!

When you post your game in the "Games in Production" forum, please include the "BAKE SALE" tag in the title. (And please only announce a game for the bake sale if you're fairly certain you will actually be able make a complete game by the deadline.)

...What?

We're having a bake sale. The AGS Bake Sale to be exact.

In mid to late December, just before Christmas, a bunch of us are going to release a bundle of games under a "pay what you like" model. The money raised from the bake sale will be going to a good cause: buying a new server for the AGS community.

What's not to love?  :D

(Members of the bake sale will be revealed as they unveil their games in the Games In Production thread over the next few days).
