I like Cole a lot. I wish I'd found a way to bring him into the series earlier than this just so I would have had more opportunities to write dialog for his crazy rants.  :D
Will you put him into the following chapters or may be even episodes?

That's always a possibility. But there are only a few Barn Runner games left at this point, so it might be tricky to find a place to shoehorn him in. We'll see.  8)

Try search it a bit harder.  May be some where you can search more than once?

Or think this way: when you lost something, where is the most likely place you would search?

Even more hint-y!

Keep searching the big cardboard box until you find the fuel chip. It may take a few tries. There's a lot of junk in there.

I hope that helps.  :=

No one commented on my stuff... :-[

I liked the ridiculously tall tower. The moon within a moon seems to hint at a back story for that world. Plus, I'm a big fan of giant pixels. I love that old NES look.

Also, the high tech hallways (both the perspective one and the deeply shadowed one) were nicely done.

Lastly, what's the story with the Five Years Later guy? Did he lose his mouth in the intervening years? Or gain most of a face? I MUST KNOW!!1!

There. Feel better now?  :-*

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give it some thought.

I hope the game has otherwise been worth your time.  :)

I was sure I'd be the only one who 'got' the Damnation Alley roadster/radioactive roaches bit.  That movie is on my 'guilty pleasures' list of awesomely bad awesome sci-fi.  Of course there was also the legendary Porkchop Express, from yet another awesomely bad awesome comedy.  Little references like these warm my otherwise cold-and-disillusioned-with-modern-film heart.

If I say I put them in there just for you, can you finagle the AGS review board to give me an extra half cup? (I'm not above buying votes is what I'm saying  := )

These Oceanspirit tales must be told. Don't worry about conflicting continuity -- that sort of thing can't happen in the Oceanspiritverse. DDQ once made a chart showing how many parallel universe the OSD world has already fragmented into. What's one more? :D

I found that thing by "pure random" clicking...  Holy cow it is too easy to be missed!

Would you please at least make them just a little bit more "observable" in the future?

It was actually even smaller in the earlier builds. The play testers finally convinced me do embiggen it. I see I may have to embiggen it even further.  :=

Dual: I liked writing dialog for Postmaster Colonel Cole. In his on way, he's a lot like Prick. I'd love to know what his interior monologue sounds like. (Did you ask him about the tattoos?)
That story is one of my most favorites!

Nah, it's not arbitrary. It's based on highly complex scientific data. See, two weeks is exactly how long after this Release Something ends that my ability to care about anything that anyone else released or didn't release will completely wear out. :P

Sounds just like that old "scientific method" chestnut I read about back in school. And I can't argue with science!  :D

Nevermind. In typical fashion, once posted you can solve it yourself.

Don't you just hate it when that happens? And here I was ready to ride to the rescue and everything!  ;)

I like how this competition has shaped up!

Glad you liked it. And thanks for loaning out Mailbot for a cameo.

Regarding the truck stop, there were actually several more I cut out. The rear parking lot around the dumpster was originally much bigger. I had the trucks from Duel, Convoy, Arc II, and Maximum Overdrive back there (plus loads and loads more truck stop orphans -- it was  a real "lord of the flies" sort of place). And the Spring Break Wet T-Shirt Blast arcade game still worked too. ;)

Lastly, I'm glad you think I topped the naked big wheel scene. :D

Clearly it is a "dunny", you lot  ;)

Hmmm... Not sure if that's dandified city talk or not. If only I spoke your language.  :=

Spoiler
Go to the outlet/WC of the Hermit and use what you get there on the rat poison. When you use that on the pool of liquid in the junkyard, get the dead rat with the multi-tool and bla bla bla.

Outlet/WC? That sounds like city talk. That sort of thing might get you shot in the BGCZ! 'Round these parts, we call that sort of thing an outhouse.  :=

Frodo: Thanks. I tried to make the quests more complicated this time around. Also, Billy had to become a man sooner or later. Luckily, he had a General Store nearby!  :=

Jagged Alliance 2 separated the (nerd) men from the (nerd) boys.  8)

But let's not derail this thread. We're supposed to be cheering for Domithan in his moment of triumph. Soon he'll be to famous to bother with any of us.  :D

Congrats! I hope it leads to even more work in the future. Allow me to jump on the bandwagon and say it was a very nice read, but I expected at least another page. Still, good job dude!  :D

(That 7th "helpful" check mark. That was me. Now you're sure to get a big raise! You can send me some of the money later! ;) )

The minigames need some pretty severe balancing as they are, and the super-vehicle is a super pussy and could stand to take a few dents to the hull instead of piloting a Ford Pinto everywhere.

I'm assuming the mini-games you're talking about are the "real life" ones and not the ones in the truck stop, right? What would you like to see? More checkpoint saves?

As far as taking the dents in the hull with the oncoming traffic, maybe Harry doesn't want to scrape the paint?  ;) Besides, I like my old school arcades old school tough. That good old "one hit and you're toast" Spy Hunter style. I know not everyone shares that sentiment, so I included the arcade mode on/off button. I guess I could take another pass at it.

Nice review. I can't take issue with any of it.

Prick having fewer monologues was an intentional choice. For the first time in years, Prick is so busy that he doesn't have the time to get lost in his own head. There are only a few moments, like in the barn, where he has a minute to catch his breath and revert to his old ways.

I tried to keep the backtracking to a minimum. But I also wanted to address the complaints that my games tend to be linear, so it was a bit of a balancing act.

All in all, I'm glad you liked it.
