The perils of a full calendar and a looming deadline. The bane of all MAGS.Quote from: Ponch on Sat 04/05/2024 18:08:20Please ignore the earlier, broken build.Too late, already completed it.![]()

Was the bug that pressing the right mouse button broke the game?
Quote from: AndreasBlack on Sat 04/05/2024 13:12:43Quake 1, i know it's like cursing on this forumI know that the atmosphere of Quake 1 was less intentionally crafted to be that way and more a result of its incredibly disjointed and unfocused development, but I still love it. It's just so damn weird. It's like a middle school boy's sketchbook come to life. Here's a new monster. It's just like the previous monster, but bigger and tougher. Here's a new gun. It's just like the first gun, but it's bigger and shoots harder!!1!
Quote from: speksteen on Fri 03/05/2024 09:59:25It surprised me that I haven't heard of any titles made after Firewatch by the creators because Firewatch sold very well. They're living in Valve Time now.
Quote from: Cassiebsg on Thu 18/04/2024 17:07:02Rats, haven't had time this week to even touch it, and this weekend won't be gold either. :/
Too much overtime at work, atm.
Quote from: eri0o on Sun 07/04/2024 01:40:13So, made a new version with nothing but the map and also the world gets a bit harder to see at night now :Night falls fast in that forest! And that weather! I assume it takes place in Canada.
QuoteI loved this theme and gave my best effort in ages at actually finishing a game in time. I didn't announce it because my track record is so terrible lately. Ultimately, I ended up with about 5/6 of a game when the deadline caught me. No surprise there, I suppose, but it was fun to try my hand at AGS again after a long time away from it.

The first room is nice, but it gets very crude very quickly as you progress from the starting point. It's practically an MS Paint game by the end. It would need a lot of work to make it presentable...
I might rework it at some point in the future when I have the time.
Quote from: cat on Wed 20/03/2024 08:59:22How about everyone else? @eri0o @Durinde @Radiant @newwaveburritos @Ponch @MandleProbably not going to make the deadline.
Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Thu 07/03/2024 20:15:341. Get more people to help you with testing. This! It's how I manage my games. For us indie developers, we have to work smarter, because we can't work any harder than we already do. Break that game in distinct chunks and test each one on its own before finally testing the whole thing end to end.
2. Define distinct logical chapters in your story, make GUI for jumping to a chapter, as cat suggested above, and make sure it's possible to test individual chapters separately.
If you combine these two, then testers may also test separate chapters in parallel.
