Yeah, I tried several cds and nothing happened with any of them, and there seemed to be no way to bypass it, so I deleted the game.  I didn't like the interface anyway.  Thanks anyway. :-)

OK, this may be silly, but I'm stuck on a screen with a cd player.  I just talked to the jazz guy, and he told me to "put in the love" or something like that, and the screen went to a cd player.  Now I can't do anything.  I can't get out of that screen.  Help!

I did that already.  The librarian just keeps saying the same things.  I've clicked everything I have everywhere, and nothing.

I don't know.  I've always loved Star Wars and the new ones were no exception.  I thought 2 was the weakest out of all, but I still enjoyed it.   I know I'm a minority in this, but I thought they were great.

I also find it funny when people complain about the acting and dialogue in the new trilogy.  It makes me wonder if they had even SEEN the original.  I mean, Mark Hamill is a CRAPPY actor, as was Carrie Fisher.  And dialogue,

"Leia you're my sister"

"I know.  Somehow, I've always known"  Then why did you KISS him so pationately on Hoth?

and later

"COudl you tell Luke? Is that who you could tell?"

"Hold me"

That whole scene was cheesier than velveeta, and the acting was awful.  But I still love the movies for what they are, just as I love the new ones too.

Crap.  You win.  I don't think anybody's gonna beat that.  Ha ha.

There may be a few things in HP that are more realistic magic-wise, but it has creatures like elves, dragons, gryffins, centaurs, mermaids, goblins, gnomes, grindylows, blast-ended screwts, leprechauns, unicorns, werewolves.... things that are all pretty mythological.  There's things like invisibility cloaks, magic maps, flying broomsticks, self-writing ink pens, chess boards that move on their own, food that appears with the wave of a hand, candy that makes your tongue ten-tons....  It seems that there is a lot more in the stories that is not real than what is.

Sorry to go off-topic.

Longest movie title ever.... "Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" :-)

Thanks those of you who responded.  You all made some good points.  I hope I didn't offend anyone with my question.

My personal view on it all is this... It's fiction.  Plain and simple.  If you don't believe in magic and you don't want your kids to try to do it, you teach them not to.  You don't go banning the books and burning them.   I had a supervisor that was very religious, and actually put a Harry Potter ban on the rest of us.  We were not allowed to discuss anything about it in the office, because it offended her.  It was right after book five had come out and we were all reading it.  From what I've heard from the other girls, she is now going on and on about Narnia and how wonderful it is.  She talks about it non-stop.  That was pretty much why the question comes up for me.  I realize that not all Christians are like that, but there are some that are, and it was bugging me.

And hey... there were several moments that made me cry in the Narnia movie as well!

Well, as usual, while many of you criticize a movie... I enjoyed it.  I took it as it was... a fun little romp into a mythical land.  Was it as good as LoTR?  Of course not.  But, honestly, as someone else had mentioned, I hadn't even thought about comparing the two.  They were each trying to accomplish different things, and that's all I'm going to say about that.

I thought all of the children did a decent job.  I enjoyed Mr. Mumnus.  The beavers made me chuckle.  The witch was pretty much what I pictured, although her hair was annoying.  Ha ha.

I had read the book as a kid, and re-read it before seeing the movie.  I thought it was a pretty accurate portrayal.  Although, it would have been nice for the magic in the candies to be explained, for those that hadn't read the book.

As for the Christian aspect... it's something I never picked up on, until I was told it was there.   I suppose I can see where it could be interpreted that way, but I personally don't think it was the intent.   But, maybe it was.  Guess we'll never really know.

My last question is this, and I'm not trying to start a big argument, and I'm sorry ahead of time if this offends anyone, but I'm sincerely asking because it's something I've been wondering about.... Why is that a book or movie like Chronicles of Narnia, or LoTR for that matter, which is full of magic (a wardrobe that takes you to another world, a witch that can turn things to stone, talking animals and the like) is ok according to Christians, but Harry Potter is looked as evil because of magic?

Anyway, I thought the movie was well done.  My boyfriend enjoyed it as well, and he had never read the books.

Wow.  Why is everyone being so hard on Rosella?  She's involved with something that she is excited and passionate about.  I don't blame her for wanting to hype it.  So some of you don't like KQ.  That's fine, but there are millions that do.  If you don't agree with what she's doing, don't participate.  But, some of you are being downright mean.  What happened to the days when people here supported each other in the making of adventure games?  I mean, isn't that why we are all here?  Because we love adventure games and we don't want to see them die?

Lately, I've seen a lot of posts here chastising others.  People constantly telling people that their posts are stupid, that they don't follow the rules, that they hate the games they are working on and so on.  It's become very very negative, and to me, it's very sad.

Be nice.  What's wrong with him wanting to know if there are others from his area?  I think it's cool to find out where we're all from.

I adore King's Quest.  KQIV was the first adventure game I ever played.  To me, they are the standard that I measuse every adventure game to.  Sure, they have their problems, but I still love them.  Every so often I go back and play them, just because.

I don't think that I could pick just one favorite thing in the games.  But, some of my favorites.... KQ4: Getting sneezed out of a whale, cleaning the dwarves house, turning into a frog to swim under a waterfall, and giving each ghost it's prized possession.  KQ5: the ice queen, riding the sled, fighting Mordack at the end, Having the ants find the golden needle.  KQ6:  This game was amazing.  I loved everything about the isle of Wonder.  I also like the puzzles on the Isle of the best and the Dangling Participle.  This game just had so many funny things in it.  It was a lot of fun. KQ7: This game was just beautiful.  I always loved getting to play Rosella.  Valanice was kind of a pansy though.  I really liked Ooga Booga land and Falderal.  KQ8 was a travesty to the series.  As games go, by itself, it was a pretty decent game.  But it wasn't King's QUest.  As for the first three games, I only played them each once.  I didn't like 3 at all.

NOw, that being said, it always had it's drawbacks.... mazes... UGH.  Mazes don't belong in adventure games.  They're just annoying.  And like many other said, too many pointless deaths... although some of them were funny, and in 7, it would take you right back to where you died, which was nice.  Also, in many of the games, there were dead ends.  Like, you could get swallowed by the whale without catching a fish, and then there was no way to get the whistle from the pelican.  You were screwed.  But, I loved the stories and the characters.  I loved the humor.  I just thought they were fantastic.

Congratulations.  A baby is a wonderful thing.  I know it's scary, but when it comes, you'll love it more than you possibly know.

Don't get married just because she's pregnant.  Get married because you know it's right. Don't let anyone try to force you into it.

As for adoption, that's a very hard decision.  I had a friend who did that.  She knows the baby is better off, but three years later, she still gets sad about it.  But, she's happy at the same time, because she knows that she would not have been able to care for it.  IT went to a very wealthy family, and they actually send her periodic updates on her.  I think she even gets to see her once in a while, but that is very rare in adoption situations.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.  :-)

By the way, looking at the picture, I think the two of you will have a beautiful baby.

Ok, here's my opinion on CGI and films and the like, take it or leave it.  So many people complain about CGI and unrealism and not enought CGI, too much CGI.... then people complain about films not being deep enough, or enough action or... well... blah blah blah... the thousand other complaints I hear about movies.  What I think is that people have forgotten how to just sit back and enjoy a movie without analyzing everything.  I personally think people have gotten too picky.  I love movies, and I can usually find something great about almost any movie.  Granted... there have been a few that I just think are absolute crap, but they are few and far between.

Remember people.   When you agree to watch a movie about a giant gorilla, or talking lions, or hobbits, or wizards, or galaxies far far away... you've already had to suspend a bit of disbelief to see the movie itself.  Use your imagination to suspend it a little farther, and you might find that you can enojy so many more movies.

Just my two cents... I hope I didn't offend anyone.  :)
