Messages - Problem

Congratulations, Nicky! ;-D

You already know my opinion, and since I wrote the music I might be a little biased... but I'll say it again: This is one of my favourite AGS games of all time. The beginning is a little weaker than the rest, but who cares if the rest is so awesome?

The pacing is spot-on, there's a feeling of urgency throughout the game, and it gets quite creepy and tense later on. There are many interesting puzzles, but they are not difficult, and I never got stuck for too long. The story progresses steadily, and the attention to detail is amazing, with many little details changing when you revisit locations. The use of sound effects adds a lot to the atmosphere, and it still felt exciting in the second playthrough. I can only recommend this little gem. :)

And for those who like the music, I've uploaded the soundtrack.

This was a wonderful ceremony! Congratulations to all the winners and nominees, and thanks to Snarky for all the hard work to make it possible. :)

I should be at home at that time, so you can count me in. :)

@Cassiebsg: No, you're not abusing! This is the kind of feedback we need.

...and here it is: a short video with character animations!

(If possible, watch in HD)

Congrats, this excellent work! It's surprisingly big for a MAGS game, I can hardly believe this was done in just a month. Sox has outdone himself with all those cute goblin animations. :)

...and for those who liked the music, you can download the Mess Goblins theme from my website:

Don't be daft, they're just standing to attention. :P

This is actually true for the character on the right. :)
Maybe I'll upload a short video soon, so you can see how the characters look animated.

Yes, some of the objects (painting, vase etc.) have not been updated yet. But the background + 3D characters are more or less the final, so this is what the game will look like.

It's a little difficult to judge, because the background colour is quite close to the color of the suit. I think I prefer D. B is too bright and washed out, this doesn't look like black anymore, while C doesn't have enough contrast. So my vote goes to D. But if you want to go for a "gritty" or dirty look, it's A.

EDIT: Or maybe a blend of A and D?

Thank you, Sox!

With a few subtle changes, everything looks more natural now:

I hope she doesn't mind all the spinning...

Thanks, Lasca!
here's a new version:

I've improved the texture and shading on the hair and tried to fix the flat arms and jacket. I've also changed her face a bit.

Thanks, Cassiebsg!
I've tried Blender's hair simulation some time ago. The hair itself looked fine, but I couldn't make it blend with the toon-shader I use for my characters, the hair always looked out of place. But maybe I should give it another try.

Now go and finish that model! ;)

It's time to create female 3D characters for Rogue State, and since I don't have too much experience in this area, I'd like to get some feedback.
So please comment and criticize this 3D model:

Here's a Christmas card for you!

At first Regent Sarkos wasn't too fond of the idea, but he tried really hard to put on his brightest smile for this picture:

Happy holidays everybody!   ;-D

It's indeed 1.4GB. AGS has the option to compress the sprites, so maybe the game was compiled without sprite compression? In this case it should be possible to recompile the game with sprite compression, which wouldn't make a difference for the installer and .zip file, but it should make the installed game considerably smaller.

Just awesome. I still remember the two OROW games, and I hoped that you'd make a full game out of these teasers. I love the setting, I love the Ben's art style... this can't go wrong. Consider it bought already.

Congrats Baron and Ponch, this was great fun. :-D
I can assure you that you perfectly captured the essence of the Sauerkrautian language!

I had the pleasure to test this one. It's an excellent short game! My only criticism is that puzzles are a little sparse for all those backgrounds, but the atmosphere is fantastic, so I didn't mind walking around to find the next clue. The game starts very relaxing and it does indeed feel like being on holiday, but the story turns out rather creepy in the end. Very effective use of photographs, and the animations are a lot better than in "Mudlarks". Well done!

Looking at the artwork: my first thoughts were that, perhaps, Problem is doing artwork for this game
Is it that obvious? ;)

In fact everyone in our team is involved with the artwork. KodiakBehr is responsible for pixel art (the GUIs are all his work), I do 3D characters and animations, and Unlady draws those beautiful background graphics. Another great artist is about to join our team to create comic art for cutscenes etc.
However, it started as a two man project, so the game design and code is all done by KodiakBehr and myself.
