General Discussion / Dessert To Try
Tue 09/08/2005 10:47:25
hey,
recently i have been doing a bit of experimenting with cooking, mainly desserts. Anyway, i have made a recipe and if you'd like to try it, here are the details.

                        CHOCOLATE YOGHURT WITH TOPPINGS

Ingredients:
2 cups of MooGoo (or similar (around 30g))
Maple Syrup (Any kind)
Chopped Peanuts (unsalted)
Almonds (approx. 6)

Procedure:
1. Pour the two cups of Chocolate Yoghurt into a bowl.
2. Put in the Almonds. A few should be under the yoghurt and a few above.
3. Pour a small amount of maple syrup over the yoghurt in a "drizzle" formation.
4. Put the Chopped Peanuts over the top.
5. Mix together well.
6. Heat up on Medium for 1 minute on an oven.
7. Eat.

Cheers,
Blake.

Hey,
this is probably a rather i dunno, novice question, but how do i make it so that i if i only use one cursor, if i press the left click i move, and if i press the right i interact? If you need an example, IceMan's game DaNewGuys.

Cheers,
Blake.

hey,
i know this has more than likely been said a fair amount of times, but why is it that the emphasis is now constantly on graphics in gaming? I mean, an 8 year old kid will prefer something with Incredibly Detailed graphics and UNreal Engine 3 as standard than a old skool point n click. It seems that 'the torch has been passed on', and kids don't have time for RON or Zak McCracken any more. Now it's CounterStrike, GTA San Andreas and HalfLife2. Well, i'm not licked. In fact, i'm going to download 20 point and clicks right now. Who's with me?

General Discussion / Results

If you live in Australia (yes, i am well aware that only a few members of ags do), you would've got your reports back ( of course, you have to be at school ). Anyway, the point is i thought i would go really really shit and i went reasonably well. Only a few 'Needs Improvement' and only one 'Poor'. Anyway, has this ever happened to you? Have you ever thought a test or something would turn out deadset terrible and ends up pretty decent? Just a thought...

Beginners' Technical Questions / Last Room
Wed 13/07/2005 05:15:02
hello,
i am making a game, and when you press the ESC button, you go to a new room with no character in it, where you can click on certain things to do, such as Save Game etc. I am doing this because i do not want to have a GUI for it.
Anyhoo, the problem is i want to be able for the player to go to the room they were in when they pressed the ESC button. How should i go about doing this?
#131
when i try to test my game it says the following error message:

"There was an error compiling your script. The problem was:
In: 'Internal Character defines'
Error: (Line 1): macro 'CHARID' already defined."

How can i fix this?
#132
hey,
how do i make it so that when a player first enters the room, an NPC is invisible, and then when a certain action has occured, he becomes visible the same way as with objects?
#133
whenever my player has a with an NPC, he disappears from view, and his dialog does not show. The first dialog with an NPC works fine, but all others cause my character to disappear from view. Is there any way to stop this?

how can i make it so that after a certain button is pressed (i dont need help with that), one of 6 messages is shown, randomly?
#136
hello,
what is the recommended size for the rooms i make?
i usually do 600 by 400, but they are a bit small.
#137
hello,
i have the 'Start New Game' words on the main menu, and stuff like that.
I also have a 'load game' one. But, i have to click the load game one about 50 times before it goes to the Load Game Dialog.
all the others work perfect, its just the load game one.
any solutions?
#138
hey,
my game is basically a car modification game. One of the garages in called Champion Mods, and here is a logo for it. I know that the text is a little too big to fit inside the trophy, but are there any other disadvantages?

cheers
#139
hey,
i have two problems that i doubt my game will be able to function with.

1. Whenever i try to test my game so i can see if the music works, i get an error message "Unable to play music: Unable to detect MIDI Sound Driver" or something like that. Long story short i can't hear the music and i know it isn't my speakers.

2.  How can i make it so that 4 conditions (or more) affect what happens. For example, if you only want the player to win a challenge if they have 3 specific items, instead of just one, how do you do this.

Cheers,
Blake

General Discussion / google madass names!
Tue 05/07/2005 00:16:39
you more than likely couldn't understand the topic title, so i'll explain it now.
This is so freaking amazing. I know this has been slightly brought up regarding CJ, but it's amazing some of the crap you can find on google about people with your name.
According to google, i am:
*Professional Hockey Player in Canada
*Big time computing mogul.
*A female cricket player
*A genealogist and....
* A navy seal.
