General Discussion / .Tripod or .Tk?
Tue 27/06/2006 09:24:21
Howdy.
For the last few weeks I have been working on a webcomic, one strip of which was in the Crit's Lounge.
Now, as much as i would like to buy a domain name, it's out of the question because:
a) $5 Aus. a week is kinda piddly and
b) I doubt my parents would allow it.

So, i am torn between two domains.
Either tripod, or .TK
So.
Anyone care to voice their opinions on this one?
Cheers,
Fluke.

Your roomate seems very calm. I would have maimed them with a battle-axe.

For some reason i can't install to any other directory than C?
EDIT: Oh, wait, nevermind.

Downloading as we type, will post impressions later.

For something like this, I'd say contact the authors/composers.
If they give you the thumbs-up, go ahead.

Or, if not a form of proper online play, at least some kind of online scoreboard/highscore list implemented into the game. That is, if Billy in Florida gets the 4th highest score of the game and inputs his details, Willy in New York can see that score and know that Billy has that score.

THE AGS COLORING BALL

So, what's the deal?
An image is supplied, and entrants color. A general theme is given, but it is optional. The winner hosts the next AGS Coloring Ball.

This week's theme: Gothic.
Interpret it how you wish, be it in the skin-splittin' lifestyle of generation Y or the church style.

This week's sprite(s):

I have provided an example:

DEATH TO THE TUBA!!
It's a bit of a parody of an old movie titled "the party".
There is, in the beginning of the film, a scene where the main character, Hrundi V. Bakshi, played by Peter Sellers, is playing trumpet in a war movie. He gets shot at, but keeps playing, milking the role for all it's worth.

Oh okay.
I've never actually played HL or HL2 myself so you can excuse my lapse of knowing.

So when are you going to do an interview with Vince Twelve? I've been waiting and waiting for it!

Huh? Is this some sort of in-joke i'm unaware of?

General Discussion / Need some sound clip help
Tue 20/06/2006 10:35:18
Howdy o/
I am currently making a photoshopping movie project, and i need a few sounds form a few videogame avatars.
I already have a few for the more mainstream characters (Sonic The Hedgehog and Mario),
though i have not been able to find any for the following game characters that i need sound clips of:
* Max Payne
* Tommy Vercetti (from GTA:VC)
* Carl Johnson (from GTA:SA)
* Princess Peach
* Guybrush Threepwood
* Gordan Freeman
* Crash Bandicoot (Yes, i acknowledge that he does not "talk" per se, but the "yippie!!"'s and "wahooooos!!" 's.
*Duke Nukem

If anyone could help by either locating sites with the sprites or indeed, if you have the inclination, recording voice from the actual game itself, it would be appreciated.
As for what kind of sounds, anything really.
Seeing as it's really a comedy thing where characters say completely random stuff to sensible questions, anything you can find is great.
Cheers,
Fluke.

Actually what i meant when i suggested the notion of online play is like CS, or Battlefield Online.
You go into a server, you play a "Round" of the game, with an adventure themed game.
Imagine it.
It's an online adventure game, in which you have to be the first to say, find some form of explosive.
Fun?
I'd say so.

Considering CJ actually makes another version of AGS, what's a feature or extension of a feature you would like to see?
I am writing this not as a "shopping list" but as a venting for anything that you would love to see happen with the Adventure Game Studio Engine.
For me, I would have to say some form of online play.
Cheers,
Fluke

Cheesy, no?
