I did a paintover based on Xellie's which was based on Captain Ricco's paintover:

- Took some of the "sickly yellow" skin tones out
- I liked the idea of him being bald but I felt like his hair was too "thick" in the non-bald spots... so I thinned his hair out
- Played around with shoes to make his feet look less like balls on sticks
- Changed pant color to a color closer to something a human being would actually be seen in
- Played with some of the shading

Things I notice now that i'm looking at it:
Not enough contrast with the hair, I would pump up the volume on that. The clip board clasp seems TOO bright compared to the rest of the image, I would maybe tone that down a bit. I'm still not 100% pleased with the shading and I would continue to play around with it, as well as the shoes JUST A TAD more.

I think you could receive better results using a Poll from Google Documents:

http://thoughtsunlimited.net/blog/webmobiletech/web-20/create-web-questionnaire-google-forms/

It's really simple to make one and it will allow you to easily track and record results. If you get some free time maybe try that. I might pop in a bit later and answer these questions.

From what I understand, the Fallout world isn't one of COMPLETE ANNIHILATION. Major cities are mostly destroyed but in the greater sense of the world trees and regular animals (just like regular humans) DO exist, although to an extent more greatly reduced than our modern world. Also, it is difficult to imagine:

A.) GLOBAL Sterilization... if anything only certain parts of the world would be effected.

B.) Much of an effect on Oceanlife at large.

Given these concessions, I don't believe it is possible to have what we witness in Fallout 3 occur in anything beyond a relatively isolated manner.

I'm not asking for a "Super Hero Hideout" like the rest of those topics. I'm asking you to represent/depict an area/location/room that a character spends most of their time in. I'm not asking for you to come up with a creative place for a character to hide their evil-doing but rather I want to see a creative use of details in order to illustrate the essence of a character without the character being present. I want to be able to get a feel for a character, I want to understand the character you invent using a textured sense details and history.

I want people to tell a narrative of whom a character is by only depicting their habitat.

I've changed the name to more accurate reflect my idea...

I've always felt that the BG Blitz is one of the most demanding competitions, and has always (in my experience) had few entries. Since it appears that I may have been a bit ambiguous and since the deadline is in about a week and we've not heard hide-nor-hair of any works in progress I might extend the deadline.

How about a mags that encourages anyone with unfinished games from any era to complete them in a month (at least enough to be playable)?  This may attract the interest of people like me who have several 25-75% finished full length games that for whatever reason we've abandoned.  This way everyone wins even if there has to be a courtesy 'win'.

The only issue I've ever had with this idea is that it alienate people that do not have partially completed projects and it would be little silly to say: you people that don't have any games, JUST MAKE ANYTHING! YAY!

Am I alone on this?

For a minute there I thought you were planning to design a sequel to Orwell's 1984.

Quit giving out ideas!
