Thank you! I thought you could not call room object from a dialog, but then found out that it works with the object ID. So putting the script in the dialog is what worked best for me.

I get this message a lot when I want to edit a post, even though it is not empty. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Hey Guys,

I´m really late, but here is my entry. Its a mix of MAGS October and November (but at the end of last month I just had the walk cycle and two background sketches so I hope thats allright). I felt bad about the idea going to waste so I just adjusted it slightly to fit this month theme.

Some things don´t work yet (Save&Load button), but you should be able to play through. I will work on it some more tomorrow and do some last updates, but for now I need a break.

Hey Guys,

I have a problem. I am trying to get a game running for this month AGS, but I made a mistake with some dialogs. I thought I could do Dialog.start(); and then add code after that, that runs after the Dialog stops. But Dialogs are non blocking, or get called last? from what I read while googleing. Is there an easy way to block them?

Hey, thanks for your replies! I just found my mistake. The colour depth was set to 16bit, after setting it to 32bit and reimporting everything it looks fine. Sorry that I did not think about that earlier. I feel like almost everytime I post a problem, it turns out to be embarrassingly easy in the end, so thanks for putting up with me  (roll)

Hey, I hope its okay that I jump on the train and reply to this older thread.  I also want to thank you a lot densming! Without your videos I would have given up on doing a game on my own. You are a good teacher and the videos are well organized :)

Hello again,

I started making a new game with the updated AGS and with many images that I import I have the problem that they look unclean (as colour runs over the lines). In my drawing program they look perfectly fine. Is the updated AGS more sensitive? I can´t remember having this problem as much with the old version. Is there anything I can do besides tidying up everything really good before importing it?

I don´t know much about making Intros, but I just wanted to say that to me your Intro looks really nice. When watching it, I also got the feeling it would be better to hold it a little longer in the end it seems kind of an abrupt transition. And maybe a good looking Intro will also make people keep watching :)

I hope its okay when I set everything in a spoiler, so that anyone not interested can just scroll by.

Greenpath and City of Tears are also my favorite parts of the game. I think its just the atmosphere there, Greenpath is very relaxing to walk through and the City of Tears contributes a lot to the story I guess and the rain adds a gloomy feeling to it. Another part that I really liked, wich I think you have not yet come through, is Crystal Peak.

But I think that every region kind of has its own feelign to it and the music plays big part in that. And the art of course, I think that the kind of minimalistic style (in comparison to other games like that) of Hollowknight is very eyecatching.

My favorite boss is in the Fungal Wastes though, the Mantis Lords. I really like the battle music (starts at 17:00) and they are just cool characters.

As for favorite stages: I think its always fun when you gain a new power and suddenly can go places you have not been before or some things just get easier with it :D

Thats true and also a very difficult one. I could only ever play it like one hour at a time before I got insanly frustrated. But I love it nevertheless :D What is your favorite region in Hollowknight so far?

Thank you! I was watching a Bob Ross Tutorial recently and some of it stuck.
Holland is a really flat country, so that seems unlikely :D Its just a fantasy place.

I don´t really know if this hits the forums musical taste, but I instantly had to think of this when its about good covers. So much better than the original! And Aurora is just etheral.

Good job on getting your game done Slasher! I will try it out later today :)  I am also still working on my game from time to time, but I really lack motivation since I lost some of my progress after my laptop shut down because the charging cable came loose. But I still try to get something done, maybe it will be shorter than I planned before.

Hey guys, I am also working on my game. After a few days of procrastination, I started by making a walk cycle for my main character. He kind of looks like he is walking a bit too energetic, but I will take it as it is now.

I recommend Mess Goblins fom Dropped Monocle Games. Even if your kid might need some help solving the puzzles, it has very child friendly themes :)

Concept: Mouth for war
Playability: Mouth for war (it definitly looks like a game I would play, I really like the perspective)
Artistic Execution: Pogwidz (because I really like the feeling of the place)

I have come up with an idea now, too. It will be a story about a mouse detective. When a mouse from the community is murdered, he has to overcome prejudice to prove the innocence of a cat thats under suspicion. It may sound a bit weird, but I hope I can make it work :D
