Wow, I can't believe you actually did a walkthrough of Snail Quest... :P

Oh yeah, while this is technically not made in Japan, MegaTokyo is very well done. After all, how many webcomics do actually end up in real bookstores worldwide?

Is it brillig?

Failing that, any recommendations?

Fullmetal Alchemist is extremely epic.

It doesn't work on my computer period. Does it require certain libraries to be installed first?

I think that the adventure game genre is highly suitable to Let's Play videos, so you've come to the right forum.

Personally I'd love to see an LP of A Tale Of Two Kingdoms, although of course that's not a console game.

Is there anything you can do with the bone underneath the human skull just outside the goblin camp?
You're looking for clues on who the assassin is. Perhaps the bone is a piece of evidence?

Spoiler
Actually, no, it's not.

Hey, no fair, I already wrote a celebration-based game for RON :P

Organized crime is going to set up adultery syndicates?
They already do :P

The point is that (1) outlawing it doesn't significantly reduce how often it happens; (2) enforcing it requires a big breach of privacy; and (3) a law doesn't work in practice unless the consensus of the populace actually agrees with it.

I use 2.72, although I've never used the interaction editor even once.

First, when 3.0 came out, I couldn't use it since .NET wouldn't run on my computer.
Second, the interface of 3.0 requires more mouse clicks for common tasks than the 2.7 interface, which I find inconvenient.
Third, there isn't any functionality I need missing from 2.7, so I don't have a reason to upgrade.
And fourth, as far as I know 2.7 games work under Linux and 3.0 games don't.

There was a suggestion a few years back to add famous AGS characters as contestants to Quest Fighter (so you could e.g. have Larry Vales beating up King Graham). As I recall, several people liked the idea, but there weren't many game authors willing to have their sprites used for this purpose.

There is a conversation flying around the intertubes at the moment about the legality of adultery and whether or not there should be some judicial punishment for it (if proven).
Then it's not a quick moral question, now is it?

The main reason why it shouldn't be illegal is the exact same reason why prohibition didn't work out.

First, King's Quest games are widely considered to cure insomnia.

[citation needed]

Please don't assume that your opinion is "widely" agreed upon.

For ignorant people maybe. Because I don't know what kind of well-regarded name King's Quest is if you consider that at the time the series were out there were almost countless numbers of much better fantasy adventures.

Such as?

Quote from: GarageGothic on Sun 20/02/2011 00:10:33Is the title really *that* much of a selling point?
Considering that a team of fifty-odd people worked almost for a decade on KQ9, I'd say that yes, yes it is, very much so.

Wanna bet that this KQ game of theirs will be a big hit, and that they'll try Space Quest next? Fans have been clamoring for ages for a sequel to that.

Okay. Maybe it would help if we have some concrete examples?

Could some people give the names of well-known adventure games that, in their opinion, have either good puzzles and bad gameplay, or good gameplay and bad puzzles?

To me this makes about as much sense as having a category for "Best Puzzles" and another category for "Best Inventory Puzzles", but if that's what the categories mean... OK.
Well, it depends on what gameplay you like. If you play adventure games primarily for the puzzles, then you're likely to vote the same to both questions. If, for example, you play them for the exploration, then it's different.

So anyway, it looks like there have been only five games written last year :) what's up with the same five names showing up in almost every category? (not that I mind, really, but I found it rather funny to see the nom sheet)

I'm pretty sure you have to 'make a game that takes place under water'  :=

Or perhaps it's "make a game underwater" :P
