The demos are saved from the game itself, if I understand it correctly.

Precisely. It's a new feature that records your gameplay and stores it as a .VEC file.

Anyone want to post a demo here? I would like to have a few demo recordings from players other than myself.

Yeah, I was thinking of another game too. It looks VERY similar to Warning Forever, but doesn't have all the fancy effects.. and you could upgrade/design the ship(s). I wonder what the name of that game was..

If I recall correctly, the author of WF made several other games, perhaps this is one of them?

But do you feel that a queen for example is an impportant part of your nation?
Yes, I do. Symbols are important.

Did... someone... say... a Reality-on-the-Norm  game?!?  ;D ;D

Well, obviously Mika celebrates her birthday every year, so this game can be played anew every twelve months :P

I'd say skipping to exits is a good thing.

If you put in skipping options, the worst that could happen is that a player won't use them. On the other hand, if you don't put in skipping options, the worst that could happen is that the player gets frustrated and impatient, and stops playing your game.

I've got several versions of KATA on my hard drive, but I've forgotten which one I released for the MAGS contest about a year and a half ago. Does anyone still have a copy of that one?

I guess 'inventory' implies a space for multiple items.. a character could hold *one* item and have no need for an inventory..
So Quest For Yrolg would qualify? Or Weird Dreams? Or Mixed Up Mother Goose?

Make a platform or a non-adventure game fools!
Perhaps I would :)

Just because an engine itself is free doesn't mean the games made with it have to be (here's an almost complete list of commercial games made with AGS)
I suppose a related question, then, is "how do you successfully sell an AGS game". As DDQ says, "you had better be sure it is damn good". I'm curious as to how many from that list of approx 15 games are actually doing well; the only ones I've heard of being successful at it are Yahtzee and Dave Gilbert.

Oh, and if you don't know how to make your own 9-verb MI-style GUI, you probably shouldn't be thinking about going commercial just yet ::)

Bump. This game has been around for awhile, but I was never really satisfied with the first version, and didn't consider it finished yet. However, this month's MAGS theme of "Finish Your Game" inspired me to put in the finishing touches.

There's more enemy vectors, more powerups, and a boss monster. There's also three gameplay modes, various difficulty levels, and demo recording. Finally, you can play together with your friend, one on mouse and one on keyboard. Oh and yeah, the bugs mentioned above have been fixed.

Arcade Game Studio ftw!

...maybe

I'm curious why you're using the original Greek name for the story (Odissea) but the James Joyce name for the protagonist (Ulysses rather than the original Odysseus)? :P

Here's my submission for Complete Your Game:

Vector Vendetta, a frantic shoot-em-up that proves that AGS is quite capable of handling arcade games. Also, the first and quite possibly only AGS game using a grand total of zero sprites: all graphics are rawdrawn vectors.

I'm sure several forumites have seen this game before; however, I was never really satisfied with the first version, and didn't consider it finished yet. Until now, that is. The final version has twenty enemies including a boss monster, three difficulty levels, three gameplay modes, two-player support, and demo recording.

Gameplay is simple: use mouse, keyboard or a combination of both to obliterate the enemy vectors before they do the same to you. Dodge bullets, kamikaze ships, and laser beams, collect sparks to upgrade your ship, and prepare yourself for the boss battle at the end. Comes with retro graphics and a retro soundtrack. Enjoy!

I'm afraid I have to echo Andail here. I will very likely end up in Italy this year, only not that week. Have fun, everyone!

Two Ghosts, One Cup-Man.

Okay, I kind of ran out of time here. Those frownies should be replaced by sprites of ghosts, and the smily by a blue Cup-Man. Also, there's no collision detection yet. But anyway.

Nope. I smoked one whole cigarette during my entire life, and that was unimpressive enough that I decided never to start.
