....maaaaybe you should find a different host for that :)

Sure; do you have suggestions?

Github? Same as the Steam plugin, seems to work fine for them.

Thanks for the updated version! I'll add the link to the first post if you don't mind.

The one in the top post is still the 2010 version.

Ok, that appears to fix the issue, thank you. I'll be using the disjoint version for now, to keep the game in sync with the Linux build.

One of our players reports the following: "After about 10 minutes of play the game goes silent (no music, fx, voice). If I quit and restart the sound comes back, but again cuts out after a few minutes. Windows 10 Pro. Nothing running in the background except antivirus software."

This is running Heroine's Quest, so AGS 3.3. This sounds like an issue with the user's system, but perhaps it sounds familiar to somebody here? Any suggestions, other than the obvious one of updating your audio drivers?

Aside from the above, there appears to be an issue with your latest version of the Steam plugin (the one from the quoted post). Specifically, it prevents the game from accepting keyboard input, when ran from Steam. If I log out from Steam and run the game directly from Windows, it works normally. Earlier versions of the plugin did not have this issue.

Hi Monkey, I was wondering if you had some time to look into this? I would like to upgrade to the newest version of AGS2client but I'm stuck with the old one because of this keyboard bug. Thank you for your time!

If you're looking for abandoned fangames, we still have our pages for King's Quest III+ and King's Quest 2.5 (which is the predecessor to A Tale of Two Kingdoms).

But on what grounds would he be impeached?

The Mueller investigation, once it concludes.

It is only being used if you created one. And you cannot create it unknowingly,
I think that the installer script for Game A could create a global config that is incompatible with Game B. It shouldn't but it can.

There's a legal process for that, it's called "impeachment".

That said, in the unlikely case that this happens (since his own party controls the majority vote), he would get replaced by Pence. If you look at Pence's philosophies and vote pattern, then that would likely make the situation worse.

It's just that acsetup.cfg that Winsetup saves is now located in user directory.
Well that makes sense, as program files is not guaranteed to be writable.

Quote* Current user's global config file, applied for any AGS game.
This strikes me as problematic, though, as settings for one game are not guaranteed to work for another. For instance, suppose I normally play games in 320x200 and have set the DEFAULT config to scale at 3x. Then I play a 1024x768 game, and it won't initialize because at scale x3 this doesn't fit on my screen. So now a file that most users won't know about may cause other games to not work. I understand you're using it for debug purposes but I don't think this fits in a release version.

Make sure you're using Default Setup panel in the editor, not winsetup. Winsetup writes config to user profile, not game directory.

So 'default setup' is what winsetup used to do, and the new winsetup is something else?

Yes, that's what I meant.

(SCI has no concepts of "animated backgrounds" in the way that AGS uses them, so backgrounds animate by placing large decorative objects there)
#253
If I recall correctly, it disables certain large background animations (and there's not a lot of those to begin with). Large sprites may cause slowdown.

What bothers me about the AGS editor is that, each time I draw a single pixel of walkbehind layer, I get this popup saying "HEY! did you know can set baselines for walkbehinds?" Or if it's color zero, it goes "Wow, you're using the ERASER now; did you know that it ERASES stuff?" What's worse, sometimes this popup appears right in the place where I'm trying to draw.

...can we turn this off somehow? It feels like that annoying paperclip from MS Office...

I've got a free key for Zeno Clash II; anyone interested?
#256
Congrats to all the entries!

Well, I had a great idea for this early in the month, and didn't get the time to develop it. Maybe next time. I hope to be playing some of the results soon.
#257
Oddly, the baseline of a walkbehind can be written to in script, but not read.
#258
So, if a walkable area's highest point is at Y=20, and its lowest point is at Y=100, and it has continuous scaling from 15 to 63; then I'd expect the scaling to be 63 at its lowest point.

Turns out this is not the case and it's actually 49. How is this possible?

I'm trying to connect this walkable area to the next one which has non-continuous scaling of 63. But there's a mismatch here.

It may help if you explain what a Bass Template is and why people would want to use it in an adventure game (as opposed to, say, Guitar Hero... :D )

That said, now I'm an unrepentant OpenGLer. It works BEAUTIFULLY on everyone's system (so far)! I'm never going back! :D

So are you using this on production builds now? If so I may switch to this version even if it's technically a beta :)
