I've cut and crossed and checked and double-checked, and I still can't figure out who the assasin was.
Spoiler

The answer was not meant to be easy. The way you go about it is this: write down the names of all named and portrait'ed characters on a piece of paper. Then start crossing out everybody who either has an alibi, or lacks a motive. For instance, Morholt is clearly innocent because he'd never fit under that cloak.

Who was in the castle that night? Are you sure there wasn't anybody else there? Who of those was with somebody else? Who wants the king dead? Do you have any objects that provide clues, and if so, who do they belong to?

If done properly, you'll end up with one name.

I'll most likely find myself in Boston for a week on job-related business, some time this spring. Now I was wondering, can somebody give me suggestions on what to do there? Is there some sight or place that I simply must visit (or simply must avoid)? Or are there any AGS'ers in Boston who'd like going out for a beer some night? Thanks!

TWO gigabytes? Two GIGAbytes? Two gigaBYTES?

That's insane for a retro game. Heck, World of Warcraft ships on less CDs than that. Okay, I'm seriously not going to bother downloading that before I see some strong positive reviews first.

Oddly enough it sounds more like seperation to me. It forces german and french members to check those forums as much as the main forum.

Effectively, the present system also forces german and french members to check these forums in addition to their "own". With the added problem that there's a lot of redundancy and not a lot of mailflow in several of their "own", and that people might not know of the alternative.

Centralization = added community value.

I have "Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email" turned off. Nevertheless, I am receiving e-mail messages for "important notifications". This would seem to be an error.

Silly... but blamed to who?
Why do you have to blame anybody? It's just silly.

Thinking about this, does it make sense that our community is segregated by having these main AGS forums, and then separate websites for the French and German speakers? Should we be providing foreign language forums here to try and provide a more inclusive community?

Now that you mention it, yes. It would make more sense, in terms of community and mailflow, to have all forums here at adventuregamestudio.co.uk, by duplicating some of the forums in French and German (I'm thinking, beginner's questions, adventure chat, and general chat, based on the activity logs on the French forum; things like "finished games" would be interesting to everybody).

Consider how silly it is that we're having a Mittens in France this summer and the French community may well be unaware of that!

I'd suggest running a disk scan, as well as the usual virus scan / adware scan.

I speak French passably well. I am not, however, part of any French-speaking community.

Disagree with that person? Screw em.

Depending on your sexual orientation, of course  ;D

A recurring problem of the comments section is that people cannot effectively respond to comments made there, if for instance they turn out to be in error.

I believe that changing that code to show the last 10 posts of the relevant forum thread, may be a solution for that.

I don't recall ever even hearing of them, until this post...

FOY?

Yes, or Hero/6, or KQIX, but neither appears to be close to completion at the moment :(

Didn't they have a winter olympics in 2006?

Yes. Turin, Italy.

I'm intrigued. What ways? How do you define a "beginner"? This is a big problem that will no doubt stir up a lot of controversy if this idea is developed further.
I'm wondering about that myself. For instance, among artists I'd rank myself a "beginner", even if in other areas I'd rank myself higher than that.

Also, I seem to recall several MAGS contests being won by beginners. Wasn't Trance-Pacific (who won best-of-2007) one of them?

Thanks a lot guys for helping out. Question for you though KhrisMUC: Won't your code slow the engine down? Especially when running your code with small regions?

Yes, that is likely. The solution is to hard-code two points that mark the absolute edges of the region.

Humans are mostly harmless.

AGS is an advanced geekomatic simulation.
