I suspect the first post of this thread would be a lot more legible without the marketing hype :)

cose it didnt go anywhere else?
Get your friend out from under the rubble, then get him to repair the radio.

This needs a button with Cuppit :)

What I would do in this case is moving the region code to Repeatedly_execute_always.

though that probably isn't something easily doable.
Actually that's very easy. Modify the PHP so that a negative value gets printed as zero, and not incremented. That's all. It's also a good idea. I know several forums that will reset your post count to zero when you are spamming to get a "better" title; same thing.

I think maybe a top games by rating would be better.
Not really, because that's similarly spammable. Unless you refer to the Panel's ratings.

Unless, of course, they are willing to spend some money  :=
Or got certain... compromising... photos from the last Mittens :)

I mouse left-handed, which makes people think I am left-handed. Which I'm not.

Also, I use the keyboard rather than mouse whenever possible, including in FPS games. That's gotten me some weird looks, but I'm surprisingly effective with it.

I really don't know why, because the download count serves no purpose other than for you as the game author to know how many people have downloaded it.

I do. There are, presently, three ways to get your game listed on the front game page. The first involves getting the pick of the month, which authors have no control over. The second involves having had message posted about it last, but that is tedious work, and such listings don't last for long. The third means getting the most downloads in the last week. That one is easy to influence, and nets you a top place for seven days.

So, remove the 'most popular last week' top-5 and you'll probably get rid of the spam scripts. Or, if you want to bug them, reset their download count to zero :) For instance, you could replace it with the "newest five games".

Someone should have done a picture of lens flare and called it radiant...

Zip is bad.

Exe file is not win32 application.

Game is not working!
That's because you downloaded half the file while I was still uploading it. Have some patience :)

In what is probably the quickest MAGS response ever, I present you

Pixel Hunt

The main character is some kind of gunman, definitely not a pirate, nor a wussy archaeologist. The setting is a dark future, it's actually so dark a future that you can barely see anything on-screen. And this is unlike any AGS games I've seen the past year, so it's definitely innovative! Plus, you get to kill stuff, so how can that not be cool?

Completed Game Announcements / Pixel Hunt

Remember back in the old days, when you were playing your favorite adventure game classic, and you couldn't get past room twenty-four because you couldn't find a freakin' one-pixel object? Remember the embitterment, the frustration, the ANGER? Remember how you felt that the author of that particular non-puzzle ruined your life, and ought to be taken out and shot at?

Well, now you can relive these thrilling moments, unleash your aggression, and generally kick ass in Pixel Hunt. Guaranteed to be the most therapeutical AGS game you've ever played, or your money back.

Download here.

I'm curious... the AGS games page has the "most popular games last week" section. Now usually the most popular game has anything between 500 and 2000 hits. This week, all of a sudden, "Bog's adventures in the underworld" has almost thirty thousand? Not that he doesn't deserve it, but is this for real? For a game released over a year ago? Without any recent comments on its game page? And without causing its server to burn down to a crisp? This number just seemed so far off that I figured there might be something wrong with the php script.

Interestingly, when I'm away from home for a holiday or something, I don't miss internet, at all. When I have other things to do or go out with friends, I don't miss it either. It's just that when I'm at home, it beats watching TV by a long shot.

* Testing. You NEED testers other than yourself, because you will miss things that you take for granted. You MUST take their input seriously; for instance, if they can't figure out the interface, you may assume that they're just being stupid, but the proper answer is that the interface is lacking. Good testers are rare - cherish them. Bad testers are worthless and a time sink. The game being long is no excuse; I can play through ATOTK 100% in about two hours, and yes you'll have to do this over and over again. Oh and yeah, good debugging tools help.

* Rooms: You'll need the map pretty much laid out before you start coding rooms, otherwise it doesn't make sense. You should make skeletons of all rooms (so that you can walk to the next room and the game is technically playable) and fill in the rest from there, in whatever order your inspiration tells you.

* The start menu is easiest implemented as a GUI, although using hotspots also works.

* How do I fit in my objects where? It's part of the room code.

* Background info - you need to read up. I use an encyclopedia mythica, and a variety of internet sites.

Looks good.

Are you aware that the common spelling is "CayEnne Pepper"?

To my surprise the winner is not

It's not?  ???  ::) but I shall have my revenge!!!! Mua ha ha haaah!

(SRSLY, congrats to Akatosh! I suspect you'll have some weirdly fun idea in mind for the next MAGS?)

I'm afraid I've seen too many spoilers of this game at the last Mittens - it breaks the suspense and the sense of exploration. But I've put some of the earlier BJ games on my to-play list.

As a first time voter, let me say: It's un-frakking-believable what some people actually manage to do in just a month.
Oh, that's nothing - you should see the WAGS :)

*Btw - how can you tell that a difference between SQ4 font and an *EXACT* copy of it made by CJ ?
By the low ASCIIs, if you must know. That doesn't make the OP's question any less silly, though. Use Radiant FontEdit and create your own font, problem solved.
