Great game, but I just can't get the matche.Did anyone else have this problem?
The shop is at the city square. It's not always open, and you need money.

I started playinjg v1.2 and now I can't seem to find the dark cloth on the window in the room on chapter 1 anymore.
That's because it won't be there until chapter 2.

My foot hurts.

Try strawberry jam.

If you ZIP your final game, it doesn't make much of a difference in distribution. And who cares about hard drive space these days?

And judged by the forum responses, most people didn't know this.

I've recently found out that AGS will not play WAV files that are compressed in ADPCM format. While that's not a problem (conversion is easy), it would help if there was some sort of warning or log entry for this; I was rather confused why the sound wasn't playing.

I think AGS doesn't play ADPCM-compressed wave files. Try pure uncompressed PCM.

Aha! Thank you, Strazer.

I think you just outlined it. One-way roads, dead ends, and lengthy walkabouts are not my idea of a challenge. It is the kind of game that is solved through persistence, rather than skill.

(edit) just completed Knytt stories. Nicely atmospherical, as to be expected from Nifflas, good graphics and ambients, but way too short and easy.

Ditto, especially yesterday.

How many cases do you actually know that "most rappers/hip hop DJS and producers" use samples from songs?

I don't know about "most", but there was a rather infamous case about fifteen years ago when a DJ encorporated samples by Pavarotti in his song...
Of course this was before the prevalence of the internet.

As I recall, nothing. It's even a dead end if you haven't written down the coordinates back when you first were in #12. SQ3 and SQ4 are designed along the philosophy of "it's an adventure game, so go everywhere you can and see if you can get to the next room" - because you don't have much of a solid reason to go to the other planets (SQ3) or spacequests (SQ4) either.

Off-topic, does this mean that you're working on a speech pack for A Tale of Two Kingdoms?

Unfortunately, no.

Well, rebuilding the voice pack a bunch of times didn't work. If there any particular flavor of WAV files that AGS doesn't play for whatever reason? Are they perhaps too short, or in the wrong bit rate? Should I convert them to MP3/OGG?

You should totally stop in Amsterdam. It's even on the way to Paris, if you take the boat rather than the chunnel.

I'm probably doing something really stupid here, but is there any particular reason why

Code: ags

SetVoiceMode (eSpeechVoiceAndText);
DisplaySpeech (EGO, "&1 Zzz...");

would fail to play EGO1.WAV from the speech.vox file?

Now available: update v1.2

This fixes (to my knowledge) every bug and issue reported in these threads, in particular teleporting from your bedroom to Thierna na Oge, being unable to pick up the pigeon in one room, and being unable to cross the bridge in rabbit form. I wish to thank everybody for their feedback.

I'll check it out. I found WADF to be an awesome game (it's on my top-twelve list), although I found the original Knytt rather boring.

Yes, absolutely, Principles of Evil: Volume II! (coming really soon)
*shameless plug*  8)

Wait - how can you live in Canada and not come to Mittens? That's bad! :P

As a workaround, you can quite easily make a debug option that moves characters to rooms.
#3357
Do you have links for that? I can only find a demo for FOMI, and the site of LOLC appears to be terminated.

Ha haah!

A Tale of Two Islands. We have it all: a seagull, an inanimate cup that talks, a shark, and a poor sod who arguably should be able to swim just fine...
#3359
It's an interesting concept, but I think you should expand your text parser a bit. For instance, in the first room, I couldn't figure out how to search the wreck.

they can charge about $2000 to do it.
Okay, that's ludicrous.
