Try Popcap games. The games are simple but fun.

Hm, interesting... what such a coop game would need is a self-extending script (that is, if you "click foo on bar" and there's no interaction yet, the game should ask you what you like the interaction to be). Would be a nice exercise in teambuilding and/or community stuff, but probably not create a very playable game, although it would have a ton of inside jokes like that white playing card thingy :)

Anyway, Nacho, are you also going to sprite the rest of us? Please?

Put it this way... multi-million-dollar software giants have tried their hand at copy protection and their track record is one of stellar failure.

What on earth makes you think you can do better?

Don't bother. I assume you're not in AGS for the money anyway? You'll get some, I'm sure, and you'll likely get more in donations from fans unless you alienate them by some bulky scheme. Other than that, if more people play your game, why is that a bad thing?

I've had a similar experience a few years ago... the popularity of my game skyrocketed when I changed it from copyprot to freeware. Go figure.

As mentioned on Mittens, it would be t3h cool to have RON-like animations for AGS regulars.

Obi-Wan: Don't try it!
Anakin: I'm better than you think!
Obi-Wan: I have the higher ground, which gives me a +4 to-hit bonus!

Actually, it's probably true that people fifteen, twenty years older than us said similar bad things about the original Trilogy when it came out :)

Well, Rap4Life45719po, whatever, no, this is not my first game (as I've completed a few prototypes at various moments in my past)
In other words, it IS your first game :)  You are, I hope, aware that properly playtesting and balancing a tycoon-like game would take six months to a year, depending on your experience with that sort of thing? So creating this series would take at least a decade, FYI.

games using text-only graphics
...
My first official game will be made using AGS
Since AGS is heavily graphical, you might want to consider using something else for a pure-text game (I can recommend QuickBasic as performance won't be an issue, or the Windows GDI, or plain ol' Curses)

QuoteAnd PLEASE don't anybody steal my ideeas and make these games before me. I'll be so ashamed...  :'(
Oh noes, I think Will Wright and Peter Molyneux already stole 'your' ideeas!

No, the one that's really needed is...

Cyb Celona!

I'm sure this is possible in AGS, but given the amount of scripting it would probably be easier (and more efficient, and less quirky) to do the same amount of scripting in Visual C++ or likewise.

I felt the third episode was written like a computer game. I mean, of course they create computer games of most major action flicks these days, but this is the first where I felt this intention reflected in the film's actual script.

Just look at it and you can see: battling through tunnels; boss fight; chase scene; action scene on some animal; another boss fight; major battle here; major battle there; and another boss fight.

That was just weird.

Other than that, meh, it was okay. The first episode was really teeth-grindingly bad, imho. I mean, it has Jarjar, and it kills the idea of the Force by explaining it through chemistry, and Maul just looks like a stupid Vader-wannabe, and it has this huge fish eaten by an even huger fish, and the podracing doesn't make sense, and it has this home-alone type kiddo who accidentally blows up a star destroyer by pushing random buttons in an X-wing. And it has Jarjar. Who must DIE.

I found an extremely easy way to beat this game:

That's not beating it yet :) you're stuck in a cage!

I believe the jellyfish won that contest. Or maybe it was this Spanish woman who was kicking them around? (Jellyball?)

As promised during Mittens, since several people stated they didn't understand the game earlier, here's an updated version of META, the only AGS game that runs inside the game editor. Now improved for better gameplay, and less Cuppit.

(Infinite Monkeys aka the All-Mags-Rulesets-Combined game coming up soon, as also promised) (and sorry for shameless plugging but Cuppit held my rubber ducky hostage so I couldn't help it)

Okay... this game was always intended to be tricky. But it turned out to be somewhat trickier than I intended. I spoke to several people recently who didn't realize there's more to this game than a single screen or a single joke, or who couldn't get Cuppit to shut up.

Thus, an upgrade. Cuppit will shut up this time. And you start in the editor. Yes indeed, this game plays IN the game editor. There is about twenty screens to explore and fiddle around with. And several puzzles, of course. If you think you know the AGS editor, try this one on for size!

Download.

Given the sloppy tone and awkward grammar and punctuation of the petition, I seriously doubt anybody involved at LucasArts would take it seriously (not to mention the fact that 391 signatures is NOTHING in sales figures or even internet meme-level). If you want a good retro game, you should support the indie movement instead.

There's a good AGS walkthru site here: www.walkthrough-wizard.tk

I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think I'd be overly interested.

DRM basically makes it slightly more difficult to pirate your game (it can and will be overcome by the determined), but does so at the expense of ease of use and often annoys your paying customers.
Indeed. Imho, indie gamers should stay well away from digital restrictions management. If your game is good, people will pay for it and you don't need such a hassle.

Ok, before I start a huge download again, did this fix the 'video card failed to initialize' bug? Or am I stuck?
